The food is amazing, quick and yummy. Service is efficient, kind and the team are welcoming. The ambiance is busy, clean, happy and satisfied faces of customers all around. Highly recommend this place if your craving sushi or a delicious teriyaki plate. Enjoy (:

We were referred to Mt Fuji and finally got there. Love it! Here's why: it's fairly large and airy, most of the seating is booths, and I love booths. The service is fast and friendly. Lots of parking right outside. And the food... the shrimp tempura was light and crunchy, with meaty shrimp that tasted fresh. Also had the avacado Maki, it was delightfully fresh and savory. The green salad, while simple, was so good, I know I'll be making a special trip to drive by and pick one of those up. The location is in a little shopping area where one can get a lot of errands done too.

For the price this is a good deal. Decent but not exceptional sushi and maki rolls. We ordered a number of things - spider rolls, smoked salmon rols, advocado rolls with yam, Mexican maki, Chicken Katsu noodle, shrimp with rice and a bento box with beef. The food was plentiful. You could tell the quality and freshness is not the best. However, it was reasonably priced. it isn't a memorable meal, but if you want some sushi that is quick and okay priced then try this place out.

My friend always insists we go for lunch at Mt Fuji, despite me telling him that there are other Japanese restaurants that serve MUCH better sushi. I had been to their old location previously, made the mistake of ordering sashimi (ugh, never again!), but since it was said friend's birthday, I had to give in to his poor choice of dining location. This time, I steered clear of the sashimi. I ordered their new mango roll and spicy scallop rolls instead. The spicy scallops rolls were exactly that - spicy; could've been a little bit more scallops, but whatever. The mango rolls were kinda disappointing with its thin slices of bland mango. Would I come here again at my own choosing? No. According to my friend, he comes mainly for the teriyaki, which is supposedly better than Edo's. But, like, I said, he also likes the sushi there too, so I wouldn't put too much weight on his words. Nice and bright on the inside. Service fairly speedy. Mt Fuji is one of those places where you order and pay at the till before you go seat yourself. Your order will then be brought to your table. Plenty of free parking outside.

Well known for the sesame sauce with pretty much ever order, Mt Fuji has been a staple in North Edmonton for years. With the move from their traditional 167 Ave location to the new, more attractive digs at Griesbach Village, you get the feeling that Mt Fuji has moved up in the world. Although you still order at the counter. I have had various bento and more tempura than I can remember. Today I can in for ramen which seems to be an add on to the menu. It's not their specialty by the looks of it with chicken and beef as the only options. It doesn't have its own section on the menus nor is it even mention it on the website. As such my expectations were low. And those expectations were met. Sort of. It at least resembles ramen even if it doesn't taste all that much like it. The noodles are bland. The other toppings also fairly flavourless. Perhaps it is the grilled beef which taste great but is out of place in the bowl. That may be throwing me off. On top of a bed of noodles or rice with a side of sesame sauce, the beef would be much better. When you come, and you should, I suggest you stick with what they are good at. Skip the ramen.

The reason why I order from them is because of their sesame sauce that they give you with your meal. Pour that sesame sauce over everything, mix it all up and you get this awesome combination flavour of sweet teriyaki with sesame. I do wish that there was more of the teriyaki sauce. Nonetheless, it was still very good!

Like the feel of this fast foodish Japanese restaurant. You walk in and up to the counter to order, get a number for your table, grab your own cutlery and seat and the food arrives in no time. It's fast and cheaper in price like fast food but the tables are comfy like a restaurant and you don't have a server who keeps coming by and bugging you. The food is good for fast food quality, you get what you pay for. The place is clean, spacious and modern decor. The parking in front is limited however there is a huge lot nearby. If you are looking at sushi, fancy stuff and a romantic atmosphere this is not the place. Good for families and a quick meal.

This was an easy 4 to 5 stars when it first opened. But over the months, service and quality, sad to say, have deteriorated. That's fine, as long as the actual meal is edible. My most recent visit definitely killed my cravings for salmon sashimi. The ones that came with my C2 bento order looked like they were left out overnight - worse, they were already rancid! Nasty. I reported it to one of the servers, she just said "Do you want me to give you another one?" I hope this place improves its food quality. I can tolerate the mediocre service if only for that. PS: Maybe a deep clean of the restaurant is due?

    Assorted sashimi.
    Donna M.

I'm torn between a three and a four for this place. The food is a four, the service is a three. The miso soup is okay, and the sashimi is fresh. The assorted sashimi was an excellent assortment. But the service ends as soon as the food arrives at the table. They don't do anything else for you, and that means you need to get up for all your own napkins and drinks and you will sit in all of your dirty dishes. I'm sorry, but that's a big thing for me. If sitting in used dishes is okay to you, then this places is a four, but for me, it costs them a star.

An interesting place to either eat out or dine in. This atmosphere is welcoming and dim lighting with simple radio music. At least they do better than Tokyo Express, that is my opinion. The food is different, I ordered the dragon eyes rolls or what seemed to be like it. I found the sauce to be light and not exactly spicy like the others I have tried before. The bento box is the same like every other place which is fine. Sushi presentation is great. I'd give it another try, maybe I should try something different who knows. Staff is friendly and parking is cramped due to stores nearby. You can find more room around the building if your willing to walk a little further. Recommended for anyone looking to try a new sushi place or possibly a date night.

Love this place! Had been to the old location a couple of times, but was super impressed with how nice the new one is. The service is nothing out of the ordinary, but I believe that's just the nature of the set up in which you order at the till and then pick your seat, then the server will then bring out your meal. However, each employee I encountered was nice and smiled. I always get the Teppanyaki Rice Meal: Beef Sukiyaki with noodles. I love the sauce that comes in the dish, its very salty but it some how complements the dish well. The portion is a really good size as I can barley finish it. I also decided to try some sushi this time around as well and ordered a small dragon eye- it was okay, but I've had better as the salmon could have been a little more flavourful I feel. All and all, this place is affordable, the presentation is impressive and the food is great.

And after our dinner, this place will be pretty difficult to beat. We came here for our anniversary dinner. My boyfriend put in a reservation earlier, and once we arrived we were seated pretty quickly. It was a Monday night but I was so surprised at how packed the place was. This was our first time here so the server explained how ordering on the slip works. Wait time wasn't terrible. And like I mentioned before, this place was so packed and full of people. All the servers that night were weaving through aisles, delivering food, and taking orders. They were all hustling. Food was delicious. We started off with a couple of rolls like California Rolls, Avocado, Tuna, Salmon, and Tamago. The sushi rolls were pretty small, but I didn't have a problem with it. Since it's AYCE, I knew that we'd have much more food coming. I was very impressed by the quality of fish. It tasted very fresh. Also we ordered the seared Beef Nigiri and that was delicious. We ended up ordering more of that later. For the next round, we ordered Edamame, Beef (? it was like a beef galbi cut but I forgot the name of it on the menu), Chicken Skewers, Green Onion Cake, and Tempura. For our Tempura veggies we chose pumpkin, yam, and eggplant. I loved the tempura. It was definitely a highlight of the night. The batter was very crispy, light, and all the tempura came out hot. It was wonderful. We ended up getting more after the first round of tempura because it was too good. The Chicken Skewers were phenomenal. My boyfriend and I were saying that if we had the Chicken Skewers with rice, that would just be enough. The flavor of the sauce was great: savory, slightly sweet, it was reminiscent of a teriyaki flavor for me. And lastly, we had the BC Roll, Alberta Roll, Crunchy Roll, Philadelphia Roll, the seared Beef Nigiri again, and a few other rolls. At this point of the dinner we barely had any steam left but somehow we managed. Every single we thing we ate was just amazing. I wasn't disappointed by anything we ordered actually it was just great. I will say the Crunchy Roll had this smokiness that scratched my brain in the best way possible and I was so impressed by that bite. This was such an unforgettable experience and the best place we've spent our anniversary haha. 10/10, take my money. To Sushi Toshi, I'll be thinking about you.

So this review is a bit late but thought I should still write it as my Dad (who only ever really…read moreenjoys eating steak and potatoes or sometimes a pizza) thought this was a good enough restaurant to return to. So what made it that great that my dad would give it such a high review? First, if you've never seen an advertisement for this place, prepare yourself for ongoing talking and some well rehearsed comedy from the chefs. There literally is a live cooking show being done with your meals right in front of you. This combination of humour and meal prep was a big hit for my family (the 5 of us were constantly commenting on how things were being cooked, what was new to us and encouraging the ongoing trials of the fork toss plus the salt and pepper tossing trick by the chef). Second, it might be a Japanese place but they have steak! You may have guessed with my intro but that was an important decision factor in choosing a restaurant. We wanted a different place for the early Christmas family gathering but something everyone could enjoy. Third, they're very diligent about respecting allergies. My sister-in-law gets very ill with her allergies. So it's nice not having to worry. They set her food specifically on one area of the grill and no other food was ever placed there. Hers was never combined with the rest of ours either. They also had a different soup for her to enjoy and did a vinaigrette on her salad instead of the house dressing. The food itself is a decent price for a fine dining experience and what you get with the dinner. There's soup, salad, grilled shrimp, grilled veggies and whatever you choose as your main. All with great flavour and you get two different dipping sauces - one being better for meat and other with vegetables. Obviously if you select the options of more seafood to accompany the main piece of the meal, the price is more expensive. We all kept it pretty simple. Two with shrimp dinners, two with New York steaks and one with teriyaki beef. We were all quite happy with our portions and if you feel you need extra rice, they will bring more out. If you have saved a bit of room, there's lots of dessert options too but that comes with an additional price. I really was quite happy with that large selection of mocktails to try but for those that want it, there's a large selection of mixed alcoholic drinks, wine, beer, etc. The place is accessible from the outside doors to the grill tables and even though my brother struggles to see in dim lighting, there's enough random lighting that we found a well lit spot at the table for him. I liked that I didn't have to watch for random levels or steps. There are a few booths throughout the restaurant for those that maybe want a more secluded meal but there's no grills for those spots. So after such a glowing review, why am I only giving it 4 stars? Well as I had booked ahead of time and specifically gave a number of 5 people for the reservation, it would have been nice to know we would not have anything started to be cooked, nor our meal order taken until they fill the rest of the table around the grill. If I had that information, I could have easily invited a couple of friends to join. However as this came to us as surprise, it meant even though we didn't know who was joining us, we were forced to awkwardly wait over 15 min to have them arrive and then start giving our order when they were ready. At least some of the drinks had made it out by then but the place was starting to fill up so the noise level was increasing. Luckily for us my mom randomly know the couple that was sat at our grill table but there were parts of the dinner you could tell they would have enjoyed having their own time as a couple (as I'm quite sure they weren't informed they'd be part of a bigger table being that they were surprised that my mom thanked them for arriving on time so we can now order when they are ready). It would have also been a different experience for my family too without the combined table situation. I had to remind the chef who's steak was being prepared due to the over eager guy wanting a well done steak the same time as a medium rare... Things eventually got served to everyone but only because I spoke up, I was able to get near to what I had requested (glad that my dad at least got his medium rare) even though everyone had reconfirmed orders when the chef was placing the meat on the grill. Lastly, the noise in the restaurant was so high at the end of our meal that not only did my dad stop trying to have a conversation but so did the rest of us. So instead of savouring dessert, I ate it quickly as all I wanted was to pay the bill fast and just leave the noise. I've gone once before on a week night back in April and it was more manageable for noise level. This being due to not all grills were full nor was the restaurant as full.

I didn't even know Sherwood Park has a Japanese Village and I hadn't been to one in about 15 years. Our server did a great job of taking our drink orders, filling up our water glasses and making sure we were happy. I personally started with a pint of their house beer and the Tuna Sashimi. Both were tasty. For my main course I had Teppan - Yaki Dinner (Teriyaki Chicken) It came with soup, salad and green tea.
