Lots of parking in the strip-mall like area. Not a very pretty place to eat in. Order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. Seaweed salad : 10/10. Beef and chicken teriyaki: 10/10 loved the side of sesame sauce. Spider roll: 8/10. Hard to eat as so big. Flavor was just okay. Dragon eye: 8/10. to eat as so big. Flavor was just okay. Overall loved the Teppanyaki but sushi wasn't as good as I hoped. read more

I have been coming to Mt. Fuji for many years. My family and I enjoy their sushi, tempura and teppanyaki. On this visit, I ordered the teriyaki chicken to go. It was freshly made with an abundance of flavourful chicken. I ordered an additional portion of the sesame sauce, as it is my favourite! They also sell the sauce in bottles to take home. read more

Sushi was not fresh and the yam tempura was crunchy. Glad I didn't finish my sushi otherwise I would have been really sick. This place is cafeteria style and not a proper sushi restaurant. read more

We were referred to Mt Fuji and finally got there. Love it! Here's why: it's fairly large and airy, most of the seating is booths, and I love booths. The service is fast and friendly. Lots of parking right outside. And the food... the shrimp tempura was light and crunchy, with meaty shrimp that tasted fresh. Also had the avacado Maki, it was delightfully fresh and savory. The green salad, while simple, was so good, I know I'll be making a special trip to drive by and pick one of those up. The location is in a little shopping area where one can get a lot of errands done too. read more

The food is amazing, quick and yummy. Service is efficient, kind and the team are welcoming. The ambiance is busy, clean, happy and satisfied faces of customers all around. Highly recommend this place if your craving sushi or a delicious teriyaki plate. Enjoy (: read more

For the price this is a good deal. Decent but not exceptional sushi and maki rolls. We ordered a number of things - spider rolls, smoked salmon rols, advocado rolls with yam, Mexican maki, Chicken Katsu noodle, shrimp with rice and a bento box with beef. The food was plentiful. You could tell the quality and freshness is not the best. However, it was reasonably priced. it isn't a memorable meal, but if you want some sushi that is quick and okay priced then try this place out. read more

My friend always insists we go for lunch at Mt Fuji, despite me telling him that there are other Japanese restaurants that serve MUCH better sushi. I had been to their old location previously, made the mistake of ordering sashimi (ugh, never again!), but since it was said friend's birthday, I had to give in to his poor choice of dining location. This time, I steered clear of the sashimi. I ordered their new mango roll and spicy scallop rolls instead. The spicy scallops rolls were exactly that - spicy; could've been a little bit more scallops, but whatever. The mango rolls were kinda disappointing with its thin slices of bland mango. Would I come here again at my own choosing? No. According to my friend, he comes mainly for the teriyaki, which is supposedly better than Edo's. But, like, I said, he also likes the sushi there too, so I wouldn't put too much weight on his words. Nice and bright on the inside. Service fairly speedy. Mt Fuji is one of those places where you order and pay at the till before you go seat yourself. Your order will then be brought to your table. Plenty of free parking outside. read more

Well known for the sesame sauce with pretty much ever order, Mt Fuji has been a staple in North Edmonton for years. With the move from their traditional 167 Ave location to the new, more attractive digs at Griesbach Village, you get the feeling that Mt Fuji has moved up in the world. Although you still order at the counter. I have had various bento and more tempura than I can remember. Today I can in for ramen which seems to be an add on to the menu. It's not their specialty by the looks of it with chicken and beef as the only options. It doesn't have its own section on the menus nor is it even mention it on the website. As such my expectations were low. And those expectations were met. Sort of. It at least resembles ramen even if it doesn't taste all that much like it. The noodles are bland. The other toppings also fairly flavourless. Perhaps it is the grilled beef which taste great but is out of place in the bowl. That may be throwing me off. On top of a bed of noodles or rice with a side of sesame sauce, the beef would be much better. When you come, and you should, I suggest you stick with what they are good at. Skip the ramen. read more

The reason why I order from them is because of their sesame sauce that they give you with your meal. Pour that sesame sauce over everything, mix it all up and you get this awesome combination flavour of sweet teriyaki with sesame. I do wish that there was more of the teriyaki sauce. Nonetheless, it was still very good! read more

This is a great place to go if you are looking for authentic sushi! They make it themselves on site. I highly recommend the spicy tuna roll, I haven't found another place that does it the way that they do. I also recommend any of their rice bowls as the portions are very large and I usually end up saving half to take home. The only recommendation I have is that they offer delivery or partner with something like SkiptheDishes. The only current option is to go pick up yourself. read more

Like the feel of this fast foodish Japanese restaurant. You walk in and up to the counter to order, get a number for your table, grab your own cutlery and seat and the food arrives in no time. It's fast and cheaper in price like fast food but the tables are comfy like a restaurant and you don't have a server who keeps coming by and bugging you. The food is good for fast food quality, you get what you pay for. The place is clean, spacious and modern decor. The parking in front is limited however there is a huge lot nearby. If you are looking at sushi, fancy stuff and a romantic atmosphere this is not the place. Good for families and a quick meal. read more

I usually get the teriyaki beef, the sesame goes perfectly with the beef and the portions are huge. The food here are affordable and quick. Overall the staff is super friendly, I love coming here. I totally recommend going here as there is lots of options for Japanese food. read more

Heads up before heading into this place. This is not a usual sit down style sushi place. It's like ordering sushi from a cafeteria. You pay (and therefore tip) for your food before you receive the food or any service. It was mediocre sushi at best, a cafeteria atmosphere, and the service was like getting served in a hospital. I would not recommend this place unless there were absolutely no other sushi options anywhere close by. read more

This was an easy 4 to 5 stars when it first opened. But over the months, service and quality, sad to say, have deteriorated. That's fine, as long as the actual meal is edible. My most recent visit definitely killed my cravings for salmon sashimi. The ones that came with my C2 bento order looked like they were left out overnight - worse, they were already rancid! Nasty. I reported it to one of the servers, she just said "Do you want me to give you another one?" I hope this place improves its food quality. I can tolerate the mediocre service if only for that. PS: Maybe a deep clean of the restaurant is due? read more

Ordered: Dragon roll- nasty, soggy bland rice, batter was hard / oily, like it was re-fried Mixed tempura - batter was heavy / greasy and over fried. Beef/chicken Teppanyaki - noodles extra soggy and soft along with the vegetables. Beef was very dry and over-sauced to hide the dryness Sashimi- Was skeptical about ordering but it was surprisingly was not bad Don't judge a place by there stars read more

An interesting place to either eat out or dine in. This atmosphere is welcoming and dim lighting with simple radio music. At least they do better than Tokyo Express, that is my opinion. The food is different, I ordered the dragon eyes rolls or what seemed to be like it. I found the sauce to be light and not exactly spicy like the others I have tried before. The bento box is the same like every other place which is fine. Sushi presentation is great. I'd give it another try, maybe I should try something different who knows. Staff is friendly and parking is cramped due to stores nearby. You can find more room around the building if your willing to walk a little further. Recommended for anyone looking to try a new sushi place or possibly a date night. read more

I'm torn between a three and a four for this place. The food is a four, the service is a three. The miso soup is okay, and the sashimi is fresh. The assorted sashimi was an excellent assortment. But the service ends as soon as the food arrives at the table. They don't do anything else for you, and that means you need to get up for all your own napkins and drinks and you will sit in all of your dirty dishes. I'm sorry, but that's a big thing for me. If sitting in used dishes is okay to you, then this places is a four, but for me, it costs them a star. read more

Love this place! Had been to the old location a couple of times, but was super impressed with how nice the new one is. The service is nothing out of the ordinary, but I believe that's just the nature of the set up in which you order at the till and then pick your seat, then the server will then bring out your meal. However, each employee I encountered was nice and smiled. I always get the Teppanyaki Rice Meal: Beef Sukiyaki with noodles. I love the sauce that comes in the dish, its very salty but it some how complements the dish well. The portion is a really good size as I can barley finish it. I also decided to try some sushi this time around as well and ordered a small dragon eye- it was okay, but I've had better as the salmon could have been a little more flavourful I feel. All and all, this place is affordable, the presentation is impressive and the food is great. read more

I eat here about once every two months so I'm quite familiar with their food. I usually get the bento box with chicken katsu, some sushi rolls, or teppanyaki with udon noodles. Their sesame sauce is really good and they sell it in bottles to enjoy at home. There has been a trend of restaurants asking the customer to order and pay before sitting down to eat. This place has been this way for a while but others are following suit to keep employee costs down and reduce theft (dine and dash). They are usually quite busy with to go orders so I'd suggest calling your take out order in advance rather than ordering in store then waiting. There are a few other restaurants beside and across the road so it's a good place to go if your dinner party doesn't know what they want. read more

Quality is somewhat better than food court outlets, but prices are a lot higher and service is an odd mix. You order at a counter and then claim your table. Your food comes out in dribs and drabs. The Maki rolls were good. The Bento box was a nice combination. The teriyaki chicken with noodles was nothing special and arrived long after the other food. Overall, just OK. read more

The spicy miso ramen soup had noodles that didn't feel like ramen noodles, the texture was way off putting grilled chicken in the soup didn't make it better either I would suggest putting it on the side on a plate, they at least gave you a full egg which was cooked perfectly the soup tasted good. Wife had the chicken teriyaki bento box classic, tasted very good, tempura was fine just like any other jap restaurant the teriyaki chicken was great, salad was proportional and fresh. Ordered small maki spicy tuna for the wife, it tasted fine nothing special but it was the first time I ever had sushi where I actually had a piece of fish bone in it. Tried the dragon eye roll as well, it was very big and crunchy that it became very hard; which made it very hard to bite into and can hurt the top of the roof of your mouth. The taste did not taste on par as other places who makes dragon eye rolls, Tokyo express's dragon eye roll tasted much better. read more

Mediocre service with mediocre food. I've to this location twice, the first time around the food was and tasted fresh. On my second visit, I ordered the Dragon eye rolls. These came to the table to so fast, that their had to be something wrong. The salmon was overcooked, they were probably deep-fried twice or reheated in a microwave. There's no way that dragon eye rolls can be prepared minutes after sitting down. The tables were not cleaned, many of them having used dishes from previous dinners. The table I sat at which I noticed was filthy. I won't be going back. read more

A mere shadow of previous location, this hybrid takeout/sit-down restaurant offers mediocre variety of Japanese dishes. Udon soup is bland and tasteless. Delicious food. Would it be a crime to say I find Mt Fuji's teppanyaki so much better than Japanese Village's? I don't know, but...yeah.

Urban sushi restaurant, you can order in and find a seat or order for takout. Clean and welcoming nice decor. Food was good, bento boxes do not include miso soup which is unfortunate. Seating areas are clean and staff were nice and helpful, we did not have to wait long for our order. Washrooms were okay, clean and had 3 stalls, no paper towels only hand dryer and has a baby change station. read more

Honestly never been a big sushi guy. Don't get me wrong I can use chopsticks and everything but this place is outstanding. Had a sushi boat with some friends and we gobbled that up very quickly. I was so sad when they moved from their Namao location farther from me down 97th street. Happy to report that Mt Fuji continues to be a great spot for quick and relatively cheap Japanese food. You order at the till and they bring your food to your table. We ordered the chicken and beef teriyaki with rice, rainbow roll, and spicy salmon maki. The sesame sauce to go with the rice is delicious. And the sushi was decent for the price. Service was quick and friendly. I can see myself getting takeout from here very often, even with the extra 5 min drive. read more

Their prices have increased yet again and I don't think that it's worth it for the quality of their food. The wait time for the food to come out was long as well. I used to be a regular at their old location but I'm not sure if I'll return to this one again. read more

Mount fuji has always been one of my favourite places for japanese food & sushi. When the location was in Namao we would go quite frequently. Since they moved to Griesbach, I have had not one but two bad experiences! A few days ago when we went, my boyfriend got sushi like he normally does, but the tuna and salmon was old and off in color. We took it back to the counter where the "manager" assured me it was fresh. My boyfriend proceeded to tell her that no, this fish was not "fresh". My boyfriend and I frequently go to other sushi places in the city, sushi garden, watari etc. so we can tell when the sushi tastes off or is old. Anyways, the manager was very rude to us and accused us of making false accusations saying that she took pictures of the plate we had returned to her. We never even asked for new sushi or compensation. She just kept arguing with us saying that the fish is fresh and that we dont know anything about tuna. I definitely will not be going back. The manager knows nothing of customer service. My boyfriend also got sick the next day, which I am sure was from the fish read more
