Victor greeted me and went through my package in detail with no up-sale line by line making sure I fully understood and did not have any questions. Especially when the receptionist tells you they will call and let you know these things. You never get call backs either when you leave messages, so don't bother, I literally had to waste my time going into the office to get answers that I could've gotten over the phone. My family member was cremated and back at their office sitting there for 2 months, the only reason I knew this was because I called to get an update and found out this information. They never called to inform me the ashes were in. They were nice and polite in every other aspect, they just need work on the communication issue.

I'm ashamed she's there. I visited today and the evidence is of months of neglect. Two foot tall weeds. Fire ants are rampant. Tall grass, trash everywhere. A broken fountain full of algae and filth. The graves aren't in rows, they are dug randomly everywhere. They just don't care. Grave markers overturned. Exposed holes asking for broken legs. My heart is broken and I don't have the money to move her. I spent an hour today trying to work on the area around her grave, including treating it with ant poison. I've called to complain twice with no interest on their part. I've had to complain in the past as well to get them to do the most basic upkeep.

I never feel the need to fact check anything he's told me because if he's a liar I don't want to live. It would ruin me. So getting to the point...he told me about how years and years ago cemeteries weren't just for the dead and those in mourning. How parks weren't as prominent and because of how well kept cemeteries were they were actually used by many in the same capacity as a park (kids running around, picnics, etc.). When I go to Concordia I can only imagine how wonderful it would be if it was well kept because of the history that's within it's gates. No matter how long I spend in Concordia, I'm always intrigued by a grave I've never seen before. This cemetery is basically full, but is one of El Paso's oldest so it's simply captivating. I'll be honest, it's a horrendous cemetery. It's all sand and dirt, some tombs are really just a chain link fence, and some of the headstones are broken. But there's something that just pulls you in. They also have ghost tours here that could be pretty interesting. I will say I have had a few encounters here that could be called paranormal-ish, but I'm still not convinced they weren't something else (but it still makes for a fun time). This is a place worth experiencing and if you can do it at night with flashlights, even better!
