Everything from the flowing water to the smells to the decor decorating the restaurant Msemen transports diners straight to Morocco! As it name suggests, the specialty here is msemen, a flaky layered Moroccan flatbread griddled fresh and served as a wrap around a selection of ingredients. Unlike a traditional msemen, this restaurant's version was completely vegan and made without the use of butter or eggs. My pick from the menu was the "full option," which came with some of almost everything from their selection of fillings, and the combination of ingredients was absolutely delicious! The flavors and textures were perfectly balanced between the pop of the briney green olives; the freshness of the arugula, paprika, and tomatoes; the savoriness of the chicken and chickpeas; the sweetness of the honey; the crunch of the walnuts and sunflower seeds; the smooth creaminess of the ricotta cheese, and the chewy, crispy texture of the flatbread! I also asked for harissa on the side, which added a flavorful spicy kick to every bite. On top of the amazing food and ambiance, the owner here (who comes from Casablanca) was so kind, hospitable, and passionate about the food! What an incredible gem of a restaurant! read more
