As soon as I walked in the front door I was greeted by a friendly employee. I clumsily explained what I wanted to do to our fireplace and he knew exactly what I needed. He escorted me to a section of the store where i was shown my gas log options. There were a variety of price points and all of them were reasonably priced with installation for $150. I chose my new logs, paid, and had toasty warm gas logs fired up within a few days. I should have done this YEARS AGO. I highly recommend Fireplace and BBQ Center for all your fireplace needs!

Then I actually talked to someone at the Center and explained what I was concerned about. He told me I actually needed to add sand and some embers which would remedy the hissing noise (I had cleaned all that out thinking the lava rock was sufficient...ha!). I went to the store and the person I spoke to (didn't catch a name) clearly explained the steps to take and also gave me a written document which he highlighted. I purchased the sand and embers and easy peasy I have a functioning fireplace that looks new again. Grateful I asked questions and impressed there was NO hard sell to purchase a new insert.

When I reached out, they were pretty responsive and moved things to text; the key to my Millenial heart. They were pretty booked up, but I can wait if it's going to be worth it, so they scheduled someone for the next week. Their tech was friendly and to the point. He gave me options on what we could do, pinpointed the problem, and didn't push or overwhelm at all. I feel like I'm writing this one as a service to them to spread the word, but selfishly so I can remember to come back to them specifically if and when any fireplace issues arrive. They seem to do things the right way and know their stuff.

I spoke with the office manager Knox who was pleasant, friendly and helpful. Dillon was dispatched a few days later and we found him equally pleasant, friendly and helpful. More importantly he was very knowledgeable, thoughtful, and logical in his diagnosis. A part had to be ordered but Knox kept me in the loop and we set up a follow-up appointment. Dillon nailed the problems, cleaned the fireplace and managed to increase our flame height which we had wanted from day one. Given the communication and spot-on service I can HIGHLY recommend KC Gas Fireplace Service as your trusted source for anything related. Trust me - these guys are great!

## Superior Plumbing and Gas: A Split Decision…read more I recently used Superior Plumbing and Gas for a bathroom remodel project. While I can't fault their plumbing work - it was efficient and professional - the bathroom remodeling aspect left a lot to be desired. **Plumbing Pros:** * **Fast and Skilled:** Superior Plumbing and Gas handled the plumbing aspects of the remodel quickly and competently. There were no leaks or issues after the job was completed. **Remodeling Cons:** * **Structural Oversights:** During the remodel, it became clear that the crew wasn't as knowledgeable about anticipating potential shower door options and leaving us, the customer options" to put in different kind of shower doors. They should have let us know that the wall was not strait and had a half inch off set between the bottom measurement openings and the top. Although that seems coming issue with bathrooms, we probably could have solve that issue with some minor backboard corrections. * **Waterproofing Concerns:** I had to be quite involved in ensuring proper waterproofing techniques were used for the shower, which will be tiled. While the final tilework looked great aesthetically, there were inconsistencies in the level of the tiles themselves. They did not use not enough self leveling in the right place. "Taking short cuts again" **Overall:** If you need a plumber for your bathroom project, Superior Plumbing and Gas is a good option. However, for a full-fledged bathroom remodel, I would recommend going with a company that specializes in renovations and can advise on best practices for shower construction and waterproofing. While the final product looked nice superficially, the potential for future problems due to shortcuts is concerning.
