Mom & Sons Kitchen is a unique Korean food delivery business run by a local family in the Greater Boston area. Unlike a regular restaurant, they offer a weekly changing menu of homemade dishes, which they announce on their Instagram page for pre-orders.
They release their menu at the start of the week, and items often sell out quickly. Pickup or delivery happens at the end of the week. We ordered the "Bottari" set for the week of 12/19, which came with Pork Galbijjim, Spicy Pork Bulgogi, Beef and Seaweed Soup, Stir Fried Sea Bream Fish Cake, and Fresh Kimchi.
The Pork Galbijjim was fantastic, the meat was so tender it fell right off the bone. The sauce had a good spice level that wasn't overwhelming and paired perfectly with rice. The Spicy Pork Bulgogi was similar, with a nice kick. It arrived uncooked, which made it easy to finish on the grill for a fresh, hot meal.
Our favorite was the Beef and Seaweed Soup. It was loaded with seaweed and had a really clean, comforting taste. The Stir Fried Sea Bream Fish Cake was also good, with a nice sesame oil flavor, though it did firm up after being refrigerated. The Fresh Kimchi was crisp and clearly made recently; we personally prefer a more fermented style, but it was still tasty.
Overall, the portions were very generous and easily fed a family of four. For the quality, authenticity, and amount of food, it was absolutely worth the price. read more
