Gluten-free dairy-free chocolate and strawberry
Charlotte S.

I've heard endless stories about the wonder that is Ms. Cupcake, and I decided it was time to get down with the kids. First of all, I like that it's 'Ms' and not 'Miss'. This chica runs her own cupcake business; she don't need no man nor married-status title to define her. Preach it, sister! The shop is small but nice. The lady who helped me was very pleasant and made wheat-free recommendations for me when I mentioned that I'm glutarded. I opted for a cheeky little chocolate and strawberry number. Ooh it were gorgeous. will definitely be returning This is an update for when I went in on Sunday 17th of August; the cakes are all still gorgeousness in gluten-free, spongey form, but I could have really done without the attitude and downright rudeness from the member of staff who served me. I didn't catch her name, but she rolled her eyes at me when I asked what the gluten-free options were for the day, scowled at me the whole time I dared be in here presence, and was just generally very rude. I felt like asking her what the hell her problem was, but I didn't fancy a full-blown argument in the middle of Brixton market. Either way, if she's in there next time I go past, I'll be sure to avoid coming in.

Ms Cupcake's Greenwich Market Stall

These cupcakes look so good that I caved and got one to scoff at 10am when I swung by Greenwich Market during a visit to London. I can assure you that in addition to looking simply and utterly gorgeous, that they taste divine. In addition to the perfect appearance and flawless quality, you've got fantastic creativity and effort that's gone into these creations. Flavours and ideas have been pulled together to produce delicious treats like Kendal Mint Cupcakes (!), Cherry Bakewell Cupcakes and many many more (including a great variety of fruity flavours like strawberries and cream, raspberry ripple, peachy keen and gorgeous grape). All that and vegan to boot! Ms Cupcake, I think i'm in love. These are no dainty cupcakes, either - at least the size of your fist, so you're getting your money's worth! If you can't make the Greenwich Stall, check the website to see how you can get your grubby little hands on these delicacies. What are you waiting for?

Dear Ms. Cupcake, The jig is up!! What's the secret ingredient, crack?? A part of me wishes I lived in London so I could get my fix! But them I'd really be broke! I can't wait till my next visit to England when we will once again be reunited! Until then, Ms. Cupcake, if you'd ever like to come to California, I know a great deal of people here that would die to buy your treats! Ta!

I usually find vegan baked goods to be, erm, not good. But I'd heard good things about Ms Cupcake, and I was in Brixton so I thought why not?! Obviously I went in to get a cupcake... and then I saw Nanaimo bars. My tunnel vision only had eyes for the Canadian goodness and all thoughts of a cupcake (pish. cupcake? naw!) were banished. My bounty was quickly secreted into my handbag, as Nickie Doesn't Share Food. But then Brian gave me a bite of his cookie (which was fine, but pish. cookie? naw!) so I cracked open my bar on the tube. Oh my days. So sweet, but so delicious. The bar is honestly enough for me to eat over 3 or 4 sittings as it's rich and coconutty and chocolatey... I put it in the fridge to firm up and I prefer it cold. So nice to have a Nanaimo bar without having to make a whole massive pan of them which I couldn't possibly finish. Well played, Ms Cupcake. Well played.

18 scrumptious cupcakes delivered as a birthday surprise to my boyfriend's office. Wonderfully delicious, impeccable service!!

Scrumptious cupcakes, impeccable service quality!! Don't hesitate- EAT THE (Ms. Cup)CAKE! From the U.S., I somewhat blindly ordered cupcakes for delivery to my boyfriend's office as a birthday surprise. I received very prompt and friendly responses to all correspondence to fulfill my order. The delivery was made on time (and early in the time window I was provided), but most importantly, the cakes are beautiful and absolutely delicious!! Highly recommend Ms. Cupcake to all, without hesitation. Will surely be popping by for tea and cakes when I'm in London in two weeks!! Thank you for such a great experience!

The Ambassador

I really see cupcakes as a wonderful creative outlet for a baker. They are small, compact and can be eaten on virtually any occasion. And from this standpoint I really appreciate Ms. Cupcake. A small workshop in Brixton really feels like a, well, exactly that - a craft workshop where people care about their work. And I feel it is a great work - to make people happy in a simple, unconditional way. Ok, philosophy aside, I find the excellent reviews fully justified. Entering the shop yesterday I found the Halloween prep in full swing but decided to go for more traditional options - The Chocolate Peanut Cupcake and The Ambassador. They both looked gorgeous and promising, which promises they kept by delivering rich and indulgent experience. Especially the Ambassador felt simply, well, obscene is the word I guess (in a good way all the way). Only think I regret is that I wasn't more adventurous - I would love to taste some more unusual stuff from Ms. Cupcake. But hey! - with such a plethora of 5 star reviews I don't expect her to go anywhere!

Wowser! The first time I came was a few years ago and I opted for the Ferrero rocher cupcake.. Now, I understood it was an vegan bakery, so I was kinda but apprehensive at first, as I do love my cream, but damnn this place could make me a convert! That Ferrero rocher cupcake!!! Wow. This is easily one of the best I've tried anywhere! It's so rich and nutty.. A total yum explosion! If you're in Brixton and in need of a sweet treat, look no further!

Glutten free & ferrero rocher cupcakes

The shop feels a bit out of place in this neighborhood but it is easy to access from the market or the main road/station. The cupcakes are delicious, the staff are friendly and they must be one of the few shops in London that makes gluten free & vegan cupcakes that don't taste this good! It also worth noting that they sell ingredients and vegan foods as well. Definitely try the ferrero rocher cupcake! highly recommended!

Best vegan cupcakes everrr!

Ok, so first, I love dairy. Beside all other stuff I love lol but I really love dairy products;) A friend took me to this place one day, they had amazingly looking cupcakes with delicious names and reeeeally nice staff who helped me out with choosing the right ones for me. I ate two at once, they were SO GOOD! And then he told me. Wait, what? VEGAN? Meaning no milk, no eggs, no cream?? WHOAW! They were so good, that I didn't even realise, until that moment, they were vegan! So I can honestly say, a dairy lover like me LOVED those vegan delights. Price wise I think it's average, £2.60 per cupcake, but it's worth every penny;) They also have other vegan products, like chocolates, milkshakes or cakes. Their location is brilliant, only few minutes away from Brixton Station AND... it's open 7 days a week! Yay!

Red Velvet Cookie (vegan) from Ms Cupcake, London.
I bought this to 'save for later'...later was only a few hours, I couldn't resist!

If you want to try the best vegan cupcakes EVER then you need to head over to Ms. Cupcakes! It's not the easiest shop to find, especially if you don't know the area but it's well worth a visit, whether you're vegan or not. It's within walking distance of the Tube station. The cupcakes almost look too good to eat as they're decorated so well and, unless you were told, you'd probably not even realise they're vegan. I would say the pricing is about average - it may seem expensive but you're paying for the high quality of the cakes and decorations, and the prices would be similar in non-vegan cupcake shops. For my most recent visit, I bought just one cupcake (salted caramel) but it took me almost ten minutes to decide which flavour to choose as there's so much mouth-watering choice! We sat at the nice seating area outside, and were greeted my a friendly local cat :) I think the biggest issue I had on this occasion was I seemed to run out of cake and was left with just icing but that was probably been due to my eating technique LOL! I also bought a a red velvet cookie to eat 'later' but scoffed it within a couple of hours, the smell was just too tempting! I also bought a vegan 'Wagon Wheel' and vegan 'M&Ms' so you can satisfy your sweet tooth in multiple ways here. They also sell various tea and milkshakes and a few savoury items (like vegan pasties).

There is pleasure and there is pleasure! The ambassador Ferrero Rocher cupcake is why the term 'food porn' was invented.

Unacceptable and Disgusting Behaviour from Scootercaffe Staff…read more I've lived locally and supported Scootercaffe on Lower Marsh for over six years. It has always been a part of my routine -- a local spot I chose to give my business to. That is no longer the case. On Wednesday, 19th June at 1:28 PM, I came in for a drink and something to eat. I was polite, calm, friendly, and approached the counter with a simple question: I asked what paninis were available. The woman behind the bar, approximately 5'7", mid-20s, mixed heritage, British, responded curtly with: "We don't sell paninis." Her tone was aggressive, dismissive, and unnecessarily sharp. I responded that I thought they served food, and she snapped again that they only serve toasties -- in an even more unpleasant tone. It was not only rude, it was disgustingly rude. There was no professionalism, no effort to help, no basic courtesy. Just attitude. Despite this, I still placed an order and sat down. I waited 25 minutes with no food, no communication. I returned to the bar and spoke to another staff member -- a man, approximately 5'9", mid-30s, white, Scottish accent, medium build -- who informed me that: "My colleague forgot to put your order through." No apology. No explanation. Just more cold indifference. I waited an additional 15 minutes. Still nothing. At this point, I had waited 37 minutes. I calmly asked for a refund. He replied: "We don't give refunds." That is categorically false. As someone who owns and runs multiple businesses, including cashless venues, I know exactly how systems work. After a back-and-forth, he reluctantly refunded me -- using coins from the tip jar. One-pound coins and 50p pieces, handed over without so much as a basic "sorry." Moments later, the toastie appeared -- brought out by the same woman. Not to my table, not with a word of apology. Just shoved into my hands at the bar like I was a nuisance. At this point I made it clear I no longer wanted the food and that I was leaving. As I walked out, I calmly said I would be writing a review. The man laughed and replied: "Looking forward to it." Both staff members laughed as I left. Let me be clear: this was not just unprofessional -- it was humiliating. I was mocked by two staff members for daring to speak up after receiving disgustingly rude service and being left without food for nearly 40 minutes. The energy was juvenile, passive-aggressive, and bullying in nature. It was appalling. This Review Is to Hold Them Accountable This isn't about a wrong order or a slow day. This is about the way human beings are treated. I run businesses and manage teams -- I understand pressure. But what I experienced wasn't pressure. It was contempt. Mocking a customer to their face, offering no apology, and showing zero responsibility is shameful. The behaviour of both staff members was disgraceful, and they must be held accountable. I did not stay quiet. I visited several neighbouring businesses and shared what happened, Greensmiths Deli was one of them. The reactions from staff and owners nearby made it clear this is not the first time someone has flagged rude behaviour at this café. On top of that, I have a social media following of 1.5 million. If necessary, I can share this experience with a wide audience quickly. I take hospitality and service seriously, and I won't stay silent when customers are treated this way. To the Owners This is your team. They represent your name and your café. If this is how you allow your staff to treat paying customers -- laughing at them, insulting them, embarrassing them -- you are complicit. These employees were not just rude. They were disgustingly rude. There was no excuse for it. None. Why I Included Staff Descriptions I've included brief physical descriptions so that if you happen to be served by these individuals, you can be fully aware. If your experience is anything like mine, it is only fair that you know in advance. These people should not be in public-facing roles, and they should be held responsible for their disgraceful conduct. Final Word Scootercaffe may have charm as a venue, but that is meaningless when the staff treat locals with contempt and bullying behaviour. I strongly advise against going there. Spend your money elsewhere -- there are plenty of other brilliant independent cafés on Lower Marsh where customers are treated with basic dignity and respect. This review is not just a warning. It is a record. A record of how some businesses fail at the most fundamental level: treating people like human beings.
