### Short review ### I live in California, near LA & Hollywood. I visit Georgia occasionally because I love Georgia. I wish to retire there. Anyway, Mrs Winners at Macon has the best chicken. I ate there several times in 2015 and they never disappointed me. They deliver amazing chicken every single time. It's the best fried chicken I ever had. However, the other Mrs Winners locations had been disappointing every single time. So, go to Macon, and forget the others. Update: I went to Mrs Winners (Macon) twice in 2016. They were excellent both times. Best fried chicken ever. ### Long version ### I never knew simple fried chicken can be this good. It's simply amazing. I visited 2 other Mrs Winners locations around Atlanta area. But, they were disappointing every single time. They gave me old chickens (meat was brown). Also they gave me dried up old livers. I could tell that they re-fried livers from day before. The other locations don't come close to Macon GA. One of the locations I went to was at Decatur. Frankly, I felt insulted after eating at the other places. Macon location doesn't look new and clean. Dining room area doesn't shine and sparkle. But, I still like Macon 100 times more than Dacatur or any other locations. Macon is the only place I will go. In 2015, I went to Mrs Winners in Macon 7 times, and they were excellent every single time. So far, they are 100% on the money. To me, Mrs Winners at Macon GA is guaranteed good meal. Time there had been absolute joy. Chicken is so tasty and so fresh. I also enjoy their livers and gizzards. You must understand one thing. This comes with the territory. If you go there later hours, they may be out of some items. Also, if you order certain items at off time, you may have to wait 10-20 minutes. It's because they make your chicken fresh~! And they avoid leftovers so they don't have to sell day old chicken. A lot of places sell you 1-2-3 days old chickens. You can tell by the color of the meat. Look under the skin. The chicken meat should be white. But, you often see brown meat (even green). They are OLD~!!! Macon's chickens are white, fresh, and steaming hot. Macon restaurant is a hidden gem. Enjoy it while you can. I'm afraid they might change management or close this location. I can't wait to eat there again. Obviously the management at Macon location is sticking to their philosophy. I thank them for it. God bless the entire team at Macon. People like them make Georgia great. It gives me more reasons for me to visit there. I don't understand bad reviews here. I even like the people who eat there. One time, we were sitting at the table waiting for our order. When our order was ready? some customer (a stranger, a big dude) brought us the tray with a smile. That's Southern hospitality. THAT's is why I wish to retire in Georgia. People are nice, everything is green, things are cheaper, and you have the best chicken at Pio Nono. Can I give this place 0 stars? I stopped by for lunch on a Sunday and they were out of white meat completely. It's like they forgot lunch was going to happen today. I ordered a breast/wing meal and chicken and dumplings and agreed to wait 15 mins for the breast to cook. 21 minutes later my food was finally ready to go. I went into my destination and found that instead of chicken and dumplings I received an order of livers. I gave away the livers when I got back to my office and basically paid $12+ for 2 pieces of chicken, box mashed potatoes and green beans. Noone ever apologized for it taking so long and while I was there they were so far behind the system wouldn't let them add anymore orders until they cleared some out. The food is basically KFC. If you want fried chicken go to church's or KFC... at least you won't wait forever to get the wrong food. This was my 1st and last visit. read more

Stopped about 815 on Saturday night and the dining room was locked, no sign about being only drive thru. Door sign says open to 1000. SO we ordered drive thru using the almost unusable speaker system from 1955. Looked for the double dippers on the menu couldn't find them and couldn't understand the people on the speaker. Ordered the chicken strips instead. paid at the window and they did ask if we were ok waiting for them to cook. We said sure and then parked and wait and waited 25 minutes to cook chicken strips!!! I think they must have run to the store to buy more so they cook them. Staff seemed more concerned with cleaning than serving food. Let me start with I'll never go here again I normally always when I'm gone go to Mrs Winners but that'll never happen again so I ordered at the drive thru where the cashier seem to have a hard time hearing no big deal maybe it's the system who knows get to the window to pay I paid with a $20 only for her to scan my money as if it's fake I'm like the money is not fake she continued to hand it to another employee they both holding it in the air and made the comment "I don't got time to be paying no money back" like How Sway?? Okay proceed to the food I had two legs and wedges the chicken was so old like it looked leftover from yesterday it was not edible at all I asked for ketchup twice still with no ketchup giving so I threw the food away and said never again forgot to take a pic because I was livid at the fact that they would even serve someone something like this so I'd suggest if you want chicken try Church's Popeyes or KFC and I'm not a fan of either of those sheesh read more

Thought I'd give it one more chance. I do like their gizzards, though they're a bit greasy. Usually, you have to wait for them to cook which is fine. This time they gave me a lot more than usual. about 45 minutes later and trying to find the nearest bathroom told me why. That food you don't buy, you rent it. Highly recommended if your mother-law comes to town and you two don't get along. But, otherwise, steer clear. PASS. read more
