Sally sends a nice man named John to fix, he says he only does basic drywall and paint work. The doors are warped shut. The light switch for the bathroom is through my toddlers bedroom ??? The bedroom doors wouldn't close either. John got them to close. The kitchen faucet is completely broken. John said he would bring a new one by, and both times he left with that promise incomplete. The stair molding was incorrectly installed and pops off when using the stairs. Finish nails poke out on every step. My toddler knows no going up and down the steps without his shoes on. The garage has been broken for ages according to the neighbor. We inherited this. I cannot stand our "Home Services" agent for the complete lack of care or concern. I've been nice, I've been mean. I've given a 3 month notice that I'm leaving after one of two years. She doesn't care at all- she's keeping half the deposit. Her casual lack of a walk thru was to her benefit- not ours. I'm calling around on my day off tomorrow stating: If you're an attorney who wants to fight this for us for $3,000 that Berkshire Hathaway plans to keep from us, you can have the money. Just don't let them have it. We have SUFFERED as a young family in the worst place we've lived in LA... Avoid Sally. And avoid Berkshire Hathaway Home Services.

Work orders were sometimes delayed, disregarded, or not completed. Communication was not always punctual, and at times interactions with homeowners felt argumentative rather than collaborative. I also had concerns about financial management. From my perspective, some contractor bids appeared higher than expected, and the accounting we received did not always feel clear or transparent. This left me uncomfortable with how funds might be allocated. Important due-diligence notes for boards considering this company (or any management firm): Carefully review the wording of any proposed repair scopes and contract terms. I encountered line items that felt vague to me. Do your own diligence: ask for detailed breakdowns of materials, labor, and contingencies. When…read morewe moved from out of state two years ago, we went through two realtors just trying to find a rental home. One first realtor was incredibly flaky - the other realtor was a little green. I gave up and ended up renting an apartment on my own in Monrovia. Over this past summer we began a home search again only this time with the intention to purchase. We found a home in Monrovia and loved it. The seller's realtor ended up representing us too. What a fiasco that was! Apparently the house had already been been technically sold and we were merely a back up offer in case financing for the original buyer didn't go through. We didn't learn that for several weeks. Based on a friend's referral we contacted Diane. What a completely different experience from the other realtors. Like night and day. Diane helped us narrow our home selection by asking the right questions and understanding our needs. We searched for several months and Diane remained patient and informative. Even when I became stressed by the process Diane helped talk me through it. Yesterday we closed on our new home. It was the easiest home purchase I have ever had. Diane met us at escrow as we signed our papers. I've never had a realtor do that before. She has a great abundance of connections in the community for repairs. Diane was even willing to help me search for more eco- friendly options on the termite front. I really appreciated that! PS We used East West Bank for financing the mortgage and they also were also easy to work with. Much better than the big banks that sell off your mortgage the day after the paperwork goes through.
