I was on my way to experience the American Dream Mall and clicked through the site and I clicked on Hui Lau Shan and still not clicking to me that this was the place that my friend showed me and when I went to HLS site, I was like OMG. This is the place that my friend said I was looking for, but I saw this place has very low reviews. I was hoping not to be disappointed, because I would hate to want something all these years and finally get it and it doesn't even live up to what I loved back in the days. You order through the kiosk and I got a bit confused because I wanted A3 per the cashier wrap overhead menu, but the kiosk didn't mention any coconut, so I went back and forth between check out and the main menu just to make sure I am ordering the correct drink here. I thought this place would let you know your order is ready via text, but they verbally call it and when I was there it was super busy and loud, so I missed my number. I finally went up there and got my drink that was sitting there and I saw outside of their store front bench and tasted heaven. This is exactly how I remembered this drink. I am like man I should have ordered more than 1, but not sure how this will travel back to NY. My only gripe is the bench they have clearly says for HLS customers, but tons of people were using it as their resting stop. It's like okay, this isn't a place for you to take up space for your entire family who didn't purchase a damn thing. I had this one lady that was screaming at her daughter that was by the Christmas tree, so she projected her voice directly in my ears! The two men near the register were chit chatting with each other and they hesitated to even come to assist us. We immediately noticed the difference in response time to this family's arrival. One of the employees immediately went over towards our left as they entered and said, "Guys, when you are ready to order come over by the cash register." This is why it is important for business owners to train the people they hire about appropriate customer service because although the employees are not owners, they are representatives of the business. So business owners have to be careful about who they hire. Hmmmmm, how convenient for these new guests and inconvenient for us that we were not acknowledged until the employees felt compelled to share this ordering practice with a new group of patrons after we were already waiting.
