Nice place to stay but, as the others have also stated, no A/C. Windows do not open but we had a fan and put it in the doorway to cool the room before we went to bed. Other than than that it was a lovely place to stay. We had room #1. We had a cute porch out from for coffee and takeout. I'd definitely stay again......just not in the summer.

Cute hotel. Our room was small but quaint. The location of the hotel is great. The hotel was clean and quiet. Would definitely return in the future

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Due to government mandates and closures because of covid-19, I had questions about my stay... COULD NOT CONTACT ANYBODY! Not even via e-mail or through Booking.com, all the numbers I was given either rang endlessly or weren't in service. Then I received a text that THEY BLOCKED MY NUMBER FOR CALLING TOO MANY TIMES?! How the actual hell are you supposed to communicate with this property?! I cancelled my stay immediately after reading reviews on Yelp (which I should've done from the start) because the Booking.com reviews are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT/likely lies. Save yourself the money and anxiety, STAY ANYWHERE ELSE!!!

Bath view. Internal hallway door to right. Adjacent room access door (not shown) to the left.

I stayed in room #2 on 7/5/21. Room was small, spartan, clean. Sink in main room. Toilet and shower in a very small closet-like space. No AC. external window is sealed shut and a door opens onto the street, so there is no way to have external air flow. There is a pedestal fan that you can point directly at the bed for airflow on a hot night. Mattress was fine. Pillows were solid foam. There were no other amenities worth noting about the room or the lodging. There is a thin internal door that accesses the adjacent room. The unattended dog in the adjacent room barked everytime I made any noise. COVID Contactless checkin: There are no on-site humans. I was assigned a parking space, but another car occupied the space. I called and texted the phone number provided in the welcome email. No response after multiple tries. The voice mail says "in an emergency, send us a text" -- the lack of response does not give a guest comfort.

Completely adored this place, we came here for our anniversary In Summer. We loved our room and the view of the city. I love reading the history. I also loved it was completely contact free. We will definitely be staying here again.

WUNDERBAR!!... SIMPLY AMAZINGLY WONDERFUL !!! We recently…read morestayed here from Dec. 21 - 24, 2025 and what can I say.. Location: Perfectly situated away from the noise of town yet close enough to walk but you're better off driving to the town Leavenworth which is approximately 5 minutes away. Accommodations: Perfect Bed and Breakfast place with only 7 guest rooms (all the rooms are upstairs but one). The rooms are very quiet, no noise from foot traffic in the lobby or hallways, or young uns. The room decorations are exactly as you see them on their website. Large comfortable bed with warm fluffy pillows and comforters. We were very fortunate to stay at two different rooms during our stay. The Almorosen and Dornroschen with both very different and unique feel. Waking up every morning standing on the balcony with fresh coffee overseeing the snow on the valley and nearby mountains was magical. Breakfast: How do I describe it other than seeing every photos posted does not do it justice. It was very German theme and man it was so delicious !! (not the standard hotel continental breakfast either). The staff and host was on point every day ready to serve your needs. After walking around town there's always late treats (cake, pastry or cookies) waiting for you in the kitchen to have with a variety of tea or coffee. They also have an area with a giant fireplace and piano you can relax. There are Christmas trees everywhere (bedroom, eating area, relaxing lobby and stairway leading upstairs) fully decorated with lights. Every thing about the decorations, food served was very European (German). Service: First class service everyday. If you needed privacy or room cleaned you got it, always fresh thick towels with a warm bathrobe waiting in closet. The proprietor (Hayley) I hope was her name was super friendly and gave a little history about Abendblume and the town of Leavenworth. Staff was very helpful as previously mentioned. By far this was THE BEST Bed and Breakfast Place we have ever stayed. Every attention to details (inside the building and outside) was well thought out with a German theme. Hayley suggested we come back during late spring when the valley is blooming with beautiful colorful flowers, which we are already planning to do. Thank you very much Hayley and your staff. After an sudden winter snowstorm of 6", our vehicle was stuck leaving us lost, cold and unsure how to get to Scandanavian Escapes. After a a quick call to Linny, Mr. Vern gladly retrieved us from our car (which was stuck in the snow!). After hearing that we had not eaten supper, Mr. Vern was nice enough to provide us with both a taxi number and a lift into town. The online pictures don't do the "Birchwood Tree House" justice, but it was our favorite room in the house. Although a smaller room, the decor was beautiful and cozy and we loved the bird theme. The private deck was a nice touch and the morning coffee + breakfast in bed truly made the tree house unforgettable- we can't recommend this room enough. Their hospitality was outstanding- we had such an incredible time at the Scandanavian Escapes that we're already planning our next stay at the Birchwood Tree House. Many thanks to Linny and Vern (and Ruby) for a very memorable weekend.

What we didn't know was what a special place Kathy and Brad had created for their guests. Our adventure started once we headed up a gravel road. At first, we thought we'd take a wrong turn - but no sooner that thought than a sign on a tree, "Mountain Home Lodge 2.2miles." We knew we were on the right track. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Sierra and Millie, the MHL doggies. Brad came out with Carlos to say hi, ask if we needed anything- and loaded up our things to take to the cabin. Brad made sure we knew how the things worked, turned on the music, and left us to settle in. The cabin was perfect! Chairs in front of the fireplace, fluffy king-sized bed, large jacuzzi tub, rocking chairs and table on the porch, and a comfy couch in the loft to watch a movie. Small details were not missed - light toiletries, kurieg, and coffee. Blankets on every chair inside and out and plenty of towels. Did I mention the water pressure was awesome!? Around 5:30, we headed to the Lodge for appetizers prepared by Kathy- squash soup shots with crustini, cream cheese, strawberries, and a balsamic glaze. The view was amazing while we munched on our goodies. Kathy and Brad are so friendly and full of easy conversation. After appetizers, we headed back to our cabin and played a couple round of chess - the upstairs hutch had a few games for us to play. We fired up the jacuzzi tub and enjoyed a drink while basking in the mountain. Millie and Sierra stopped by to say goodnight, which we loved being dog people. We sat on the porch with them and watched the sky change from light to dark. In the mornings, there is a delightful breakfast offered. Everything was delicious. Kathy and Brad made lovely recommendations for things to do and food to eat. We were considering a hike, and millie and Sierra offered to come along. Unfortunately, we didn't have time for a hike- but we will definitely go with them next time! While we ate breakfast in the lodge, we decided to check out the mountain with the binoculars. I think my husband spent most of his time peering at the mountain with the binoculars at the Lodge and cabin. But like I said, the small touches make this place special. It's definitely a wonderful place to unplug. The quiet, views, and accommodations are amazing. I'm so happy to add Mountian Home Lodge to our not so far- feels like a real vacation getaways.

We JUST got home from MHL…read more My husband and I stayed two wonderful nights there, perched up on the mountain, away from the hustle and bustle of the Oktoberfest celebration going on downtown, but still close enough to walk in or take a cab (we did both) when we wanted to get in on the fun. As parents of a 3 year old and a 1 year old, we have not felt this relaxed in a LONG time. Brad and Kathy have thought of literally everything. Need a wine opener? No problem. Champagne chiller? You got it. Trail maps, walking sticks, snow shoes, movies to watch, games to play.... no problem. It's all there for guests to borrow. We stayed in the Mountain Trout room, which was nicely appointed with a queen bed, super plush carpet, comfy robes, oversized towels, and really nice sheets. As we were lucky enough to squeeze in after someone else canceled, we didn't get our pick of a room, but we didn't mind at all. Included in our rate was a healthy and delicious breakfast made by the lodge chef, using many ingredients harvested from the property. We were also treated to complimentary appetizers and wine in the evenings. It was divine. Brad and Kathy take great pride in the lodge and love to share their knowledge of the local area, from where to have dinner or where to hike. Like another reviewer said; nothing feels fake. You feel like a welcomed guest in a very comfortable setting, and you leave feeling like you have made new friends. A nice touch was the balloons that were in our room upon our arrival. They knew we were there for an anniversary and this was a very sweet gesture. We also found a small bottle of port waiting for us in our room each evening. A typical day was waking up, enjoying the lovely breakfast and views, chatting with the hosts and other guests, hiking the trails immediately behind the lodge (We did the Peshastin Lookout; approximately 5 miles RT and spectacular) with the resident dog "Millie", coming back for a soak in the outdoor hot tub, then walking or driving into downtown for shopping, dinner (if not eating at the lodge), or Oktoberfest shenanigans, then back to the lodge for a game of cards in the media room. Repeat. We would come back to MHL a million times over. 5 stars all the way around. Thank you so very much!
