WUNDERBAR!!... SIMPLY AMAZINGLY WONDERFUL !!! We recently stayed here from Dec. 21 - 24, 2025 and what can I say.. Location: Perfectly situated away from the noise of town yet close enough to walk but you're better off driving to the town Leavenworth which is approximately 5 minutes away. Accommodations: Perfect Bed and Breakfast place with only 7 guest rooms (all the rooms are upstairs but one). The rooms are very quiet, no noise from foot traffic in the lobby or hallways, or young uns. The room decorations are exactly as you see them on their website. Large comfortable bed with warm fluffy pillows and comforters. We were very fortunate to stay at two different rooms during our stay. The Almorosen and Dornroschen with both very different and unique feel. Waking up every morning standing on the balcony with fresh coffee overseeing the snow on the valley and nearby mountains was magical. Breakfast: How do I describe it other than seeing every photos posted does not do it justice. It was very German theme and man it was so delicious !! (not the standard hotel continental breakfast either). The staff and host was on point every day ready to serve your needs. After walking around town there's always late treats (cake, pastry or cookies) waiting for you in the kitchen to have with a variety of tea or coffee. They also have an area with a giant fireplace and piano you can relax. There are Christmas trees everywhere (bedroom, eating area, relaxing lobby and stairway leading upstairs) fully decorated with lights. Every thing about the decorations, food served was very European (German). Service: First class service everyday. If you needed privacy or room cleaned you got it, always fresh thick towels with a warm bathrobe waiting in closet. The proprietor (Hayley) I hope was her name was super friendly and gave a little history about Abendblume and the town of Leavenworth. Staff was very helpful as previously mentioned. By far this was THE BEST Bed and Breakfast Place we have ever stayed. Every attention to details (inside the building and outside) was well thought out with a German theme. Wow..just wow. What an incredible bed and breakfast experience we had here. We stayed one night right before Christmas and were blessed with a magical fresh snow that we were able to admire outside our window while warming ourselves in front of the wood fireplace in our room. Even before you get to the house you are impressed with the tall snow covered trees lining the driveway and the serene rustic setting. The foyer is no less impressive with the winding staircase covered with garland and a beautifully lit Christmas tree in the center. We stayed in Almrosen which had a wood fireplace, a view of the mountains in the front of the house, and an incredible bathroom. The sunken tub and amazing jetted shower made it a difficult choice on where to bathe. The bed was very comfortable and we fell asleep to the crackling fire. The husband enjoyed dessert the night we got in but unfortunately with me having a gluten allergy there were many of the delicious food items I wasn't able to try. The breakfast was European style with soft boiled eggs in individual egg cups, cold cuts and cheeses, and fruit.. all gf! What I couldn't have that looked delicious was the freshly made aebleskiver.. but its ok cause the husband took it upon himself to eat every. single. one. We loved our stay and recommend it to anyone looking for a romantic getaway in Leavenworth. read more

Abendblume is an amazing bed & breakfast! We recently stayed at Abendblume, the second week of January. An unprecedented amount of snow had fallen in Leavenworth the previous week, and Stevens Pass was STILL closed (a week?). Abendblume is beautiful! The entire property was decorated for the Holidays. We've stayed here 2 or 3 times previously, but never during the Holidays. The building is amazing! The craftsmanship that went into every detail is stunning. We booked the Tannenbaum (Fir Tree) room. It is Abendblume's largest suite, and includes not one, but TWO fireplaces. It's like a room in a ski lodge, simply beautiful! The bed - and its European linens - was extremely comfy and cozy. The view from the smaller room (with 2 comfy chairs and a gas fireplace) is great. We enjoyed our morning coffee taking in that view each day! Breakfast each morning included a lot of options - cold meats, cheeses, muffins, oatmeal, bread, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, apple strudel and soft boiled eggs. On our first morning, we were even treated to Aebleskiver, Danish pancake balls. The sitting room downstairs is appointed nicely, with a huge fireplace. There is a hot tub on the patio, but the last two times we've stayed, it must have been too cold for it to be operational. Everything at Abendblume was great. We'll continue to stay at this wonderful retreat when we visit Leavenworth - it's the icing on a Bavarian cake! read more

Abendblume was a German oasis away from the motherland itself!! As a former study abroad student you're not going to get much closer to a German Inn than this!! The architecture is PHENOMENAL!! The original owner had it built that way so you felt as if you were in Germany (Hence the name Abendblume- meaning evening flower!!) I visited at the end of January, and it still had those warm holiday feels with all the Christmas lights and fresh garland. The large oversized Christmas trees in all the common areas made everything really warm and inviting. There were large oversized leather chairs and a couch in front of the fireplace on the main floor and it smelled of rich mahogany& bourbon (only kidding about the mahogany and bourbon, but it was nice!). Due to COVID we were unable to get in the hot-tub (thanks Inslee) but, the coziness and warmth I felt from the staff and the cups of complimentary tea and coffee well made up for the losses. The rooms are all so unique and have their own cute little names, complete with a bathroom and fireplace and ours had a balcony. If you're not staying here- YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG!!! Trust me. The food was made fresh, chocolate chip banana muffins and a REALLY yummy poached egg hash that morning for breakfast. The dining area is so dreamy! With all of the snow it was so bright and we could see the Clydesdale horses next door. We stayed here in the Sleeping Beauty room for the second half of our honeymoon in December. It was a quiet, romantic getaway with exceptional service. The owner was friendly and accommodating. Location is perfect. It's far enough away from the chaos of downtown to maintain a calm, serene vibe, while still being within walking distance. Although you'll need good cold weather gear to make the walk in the winter months. It was 6° for us. Every aspect of this bed and breakfast is more beautiful than we expected. The pictures do not do it justice. Every detail is thought out and executed to perfection. I'm extremely picky when it comes to cleanliness, and this is the first time I've stayed at a hotel/inn etc. without a single complaint. The breakfasts are exquisite, and the nighttime snacks were an unexpected surprise. We didn't want our stay to end, and we will be back for years to come. read more

My wife and I decided to venture out for a get away weekend but wanted something that we could do "covid safe". Abendblume was just the answer. This place is great, I am a hard reviewer and rarely give 5 stars but really everything was exceptional with our stay. Our host, Ashley, did a great job and was there anytime we needed her but not when we didn't. Everything from top to bottom was clean, breakfast was well done and they took appropriate precautions for seating keeping guests spread out, everyone had masks in common areas yet it was very comfortable and quite. While Abendblume was full when we stayed we rarely saw anyone else and had no issues with keeping isolated from other guests. We actually went into Leavenworth one night and turned around and came back because there where so many people, many without masks, running around Leavenworth - this is why we have a pandemic people!! Abendblume is a great little refuge from the world that is extremely comfortable, quite and well managed. We are absolutely planning to stay again sometime! read more

Stephen and I stopped in Leavenworth about 2 years ago, and really loved the quaint German feel that this town had.  It truly reminded us of our visit to Germany. For this visit, Stephen wanted to spend more time here, so we decided to spend the night.  There were plenty of hotels in the town, but somehow by luck I stumbled onto Abendblume Inn, and the reviews were glowing beyond praise. In German, ablenblume means "evening flower".  This bed and breakfast was simpley beautiful as any flower you can imagine  It resembled an Austrian Chalet, and being located in the middle of an open field, you feel that you're in the Cascade Mountains in the Bavarian Alps. Upon entering the door, you're greeted by a naturally lit staircase, and a warm greeting. To the left of the foyer is a sitting room, which led to a spa and garden. To the right the breakfast area, where you can get coffee or tea anytime. Up the stairs and to the right was our room, the Rosengarten, which was one of the more simple of rooms at this B+B was $200 tax included. When we opened the door, we were not expecting such a delightful room.  The room had a 4-poster bed, prepared in a traditional Austrian/ German style with individual duvets. There was a note that said if you wanted a blanket and top sheet, they have that too. In addition, we had a faux fireplace, satellite tv, dvd player (there were dvd's were in the common area) and a balcony with a wonderful view of the open field. Our bathroom was very spacious, and had plenty of storage space and a professional grade hairdryer... no, really, think T3 brand quality! We had a sunken tub with a handheld shower, or you can attach the shower to remain freestanding.  We had plenty of fluffy towels, 2 thick bathrobes, and toiletries from Gilchrist and Soames (the same company that Caesars Palace uses).   Our hostess Kristen said to come down at 8:00 for dessert and coffee/tea.  The dessert of the day was a huge apple pie!  Even with all 10 house guests eating a slice, there was still left over pie. Breakfast was served at 8:30 am, and there was plenty of choices for everyone.  Each table was playfully decorated, and when we sat down we were served hot Aebleskiver, which loosely means fritters, covered in powdered sugar.  We also had a carafe of hot coffee, and a buffet of food from fruit, hard boiled eggs, to sliced German meats to a variety of bread and cereals. This was such a wonderful place to stay.  One day wasn't enough, and I can see why this place got 5-star reviews across the board.  The price was reasonable, the accommodation was second to none (even better than some high priced $400 ones we've stayed in Napa Valley), and we even got all the comfort things we wanted: quiet retreat, satellite tv, wifi, delicious dessert, and a hearty breakfast. On a side note: we were able to peek at one of the other rooms, and while we were blown away with the quality of Rosengarten, the other rooms were just as lovely. This place is a dream. Starting with the lovely driveway with trees swaying in the wind as if they welcome you. The outside is picture perfect. Once inside we were warmly greeted by Kelly, the owner. She took us to our room. Everything is white and immaculate. The tub is also a spa. Bubble bath, here we come. What makes a Bed & Breakfast perfect? The bed and the breakfast. Lol. At Abendblume, sleeping on the bed is like laying on fluffy clouds. Breakfast is divinely good, not to mention different dessert each night. Every restaurant that I tried in Leavenworth is a pale comparison to the good food at Abendblume. It is worth staying at Abendblume, which is 2 hours away from where I needed to be. My boyfriend and I stayed in the Maiden Room, and it was too small for two people. The large upstairs rooms with a balcony looked great though! We visited Abendblume actually back in October and had the best experience. We were celebrating our first wedding anniversary and everything and perfect. I might be a little biased because the first night we checked in no one else was there which was great but even when other guest arrived they did such an amazing job adhering to Covid protocols without sacrificing quality. Our room was beautiful and had an amazing jacuzzi tub. We had a amazing view from our balcony and the complimentary breakfast each morning was so good! 10/10 recommend to anyone who wants a relaxing quiet vacation. We even got to feed the horses in the field apples. Hopefully next time we return Covid will be over and we can enjoy the outdoor hot tub! read more

Room: We stayed at the Abendblume Inn for our 10 year anniversary. We booked the Dornroschen Room (Sleeping Beauty). This room is on the east side of the house and while most of the windows had coverings that kept the sun out, the bathroom window just had a frilly white curtain so the sun came streaming through waking me up at 5 each morning. I wish there had been a window covering so the sun didn't make me up. The bed was comfy and relaxing. Bathroom: Definitely nice! The water got super hot. The multiple shower heads (6 total - 2 above the head and 4 on the wall) were a nice feature. The jetted tub could fit 2 people and was a nice amenity, especially after all the walking we did downtown. There were ample towels and fresh towels every day. The downside was the bathrobes. They felt over-washed, thin, and scratchy. I tried them once and immediately took it off. Balcony: Our room had a large corner balcony. We did sit in the chairs quite a few times although we had to use the couch pillows so the balcony chair backs didn't poke into our backs. The view was nice although we stuck to the east side of our balcony. Going around the corner to the south made it feel like we were invading the space of the people in the room next to us. I wish there was more of a privacy wall between their balcony and ours. Food: Breakfast was delicious! There was fruit and oatmeal and a few cereals and basic bread every day. There was also some sort of flavored bread/pastry each day (we had coffee cake, lemon cake, and a fruit pastry on separate mornings). There was also some meats and cheeses available each day. Two mornings we had some sort of apple syrup with dough. The dough was separate (and good on its own) and you poured the apple syrup on top. They were good. We also had some hashbrown dish with egg on top. It was not very good in my opinion. Available to drink was orange juice, water, and a carafe of coffee for each table. Location: it was about a mile from downtown, so you had to travel to get downtown, but it did make it much quieter. It was a nice location and the views were nice. Other: There was a hot tub, but we didn't use it. They had a small DVD collection to borrow from to watch in your room. We did watch one but the TV was small and couldn't really be viewed from the couch, so you had to sit across the room on the bed. There was cable TV but it kept saying there were signal errors so we couldn't do that. There was Wi-Fi but it didn't require a password so it's not a secure connection. One final perk was Kelly provided a nightly dessert each night if you wanted. read more

I called week before and left couple messages. No one returned my call. When I checked in no one was there. They leave a note and key in your room. It's not very friendly or safe feeling. The rooms smelled like smoke. The tv is tiny hidden in a side closet. I'm not sure if you needed anything how you would get it why no one is available. Was the biggest waste of money. We booked the hotel during the Labor Day weekend. One day before check-in, we wanted to check if we needed to bring a crib because we have a toddler traveling with us, so I called them and left a message. The next morning, a lady from the hotel (presumably the owner) called me and told us that our reservation must be cancelled because no children are allowed to stay in the hotel. I was surprised and mentioned that we didn't notice that restriction at all when booking the hotel. However, I was assured that our deposit would be refunded, and when I asked how, I was told it'd go back to my credit card directly. During that time, we felt grateful and thanked her for being flexible. Few days later, I didn't see the refund so I called her on the cell phone that she called me with. The moment she realized who's calling, she acted like the cell phone signal was not good and kept saying hello. I had to leave a message and hoped someone would call me back. However, no one called after two full days. In the following days, I called them multiple times using both the cell phone number and the official hotel phone number, and left a message each time, but no one from the hotel ever returned my call. I felt like I was treated like a fool. If you don't want to refund my deposit due to the policy, please state so upfront instead of playing tricks. Here is a warning to all future guests: if you want to deal with dishonest owners, please go ahead and book the hotel. read more

My husband and I came here last year for our honeymoon and we are back for our anniversary we loved it so much! The staff (very few of them) are so inviting and sweet and helpful. Each room is different but we favor the Tannenbaum room for it's cabin-ish theme. The food is TO-DIE-FOR. Each morning there's a full, super fancy breakfast bar starting at 830. One day there were these delicious apple skivers and the next day there was hashbrowns with a yummy dollop of something creamy on the top as the main attractions. I'm anxious to see what we have in the morning! I would also highly recommend the cheese fondue! You have to ask for it, but you can choose between cheese and chocolate. Kitsch is not a word I'd use here. Authentic, quaint, solid, enduring, these are more appropriate. Clearly, the owners and their supporting circle of family and friends really like living here, and they are happy to share it with others. The profit motive seems secondary, which is important in the B&B trade. It can't simply be a cash or credit kind of transaction; there needs to be a human element at play, and the nexus between people and place should be evident. It is, here. It's a warm welcome, a generous breakfast, a beautiful bedroom, an evening on the patio, a refreshing bath, a frog and bird sound morning, a light spring rain, the rustle of chickens and slow motion of horses, the smell of meadow and hay, the views of snow-capped mountains and forested ridges that beckon of sights and sounds of falling, melting, and rushing water. The Rosengarten room on the second floor is as spacious as it is romantic, filled with the sorts of things that make you feel at ease, and a little elegant, without frills or fluff. It's a lovely place to be. Downtown Leavenworth may hit you with its Bavarian brass and beer gardens, but at Abendblume, it's about the alpine ambiance of a place that combines the best of both worlds: of old and new, young and old, physical and emotional, hands-on but also heartfelt. One of the best place we have stay on our travel. What a special place that Renee and Randy has created to share with us all. We stayed in the snowwhite room, wow, just luxurious and spacious. I love that we have our own private deck looking out the the mountain range. Best sunrise and sunset view! The breakfast was one of the best breakfast I have ever had. Renee is so friendly and warm and has great taste. My husband requested help for having flowers and Champagne in our room at our arrival and she just did a splendid job picking out delicious wine and a gorgeous bouquet. The crackling fire and heavenly European bed was the kind of comfort that you wouldn't expect at a B&B. It was like staying at a 5 star luxury resort. Everything was spotless clean, the guests that were there was also so nice and friendly. This luxury bed and breakfasts is a must stay if you ever travel up to Leavenworth. The Abendblume Pension is probably one of the best hotel/B&B experiences I have had..... ever! My wife and I booked the Sleeping Beauty room (2nd floor) which was immaculate. The bed and pillows were ultra comfortable, the shower had multiple heads, and there is clear attention to detail in the decorations and cleanliness of the room. Views from the balcony were beautiful, though you would probably think the same regardless of the room booked. It was really the little things that amounted to a 5+ star experience. Renee is a lovely, kind person and excellent hostess-- easy to talk to and very accommodating. The music that plays in the dining area and living room is a nice touch and adds to the relaxing experience. For breakfast, Renee prepares fresh Danish apple pancakes in addition to putting out a full authentic German spread. I even grew fond of seeing the horse and two mules grazing in the front pasture every day. Overall an amazing place to stay with warmth and character-- I will definitely return for a getaway in the near future. read more

The hostess was so nice and accommodating, especially for this pregnant lady! It was nice to wake up and start with a fresh cup of hot coffee provided just outside our door. Absolutely loved the breakfast. For Covid everything was perfectly spaced out so you could sit inside in the cozy dining room or outside on the patio with a beautiful view. Our favorite thing was the Danish pancake balls hot and fresh to your table with homemade cinnamon apple syrup. Could not eat them fast enough! So perfect being able to sit on our little porch in the evening and play a game while enjoying a slice of cake and some hot tea provided for the guests as an added treat. Wish we could have soaked in the spa after a day of hiking (it looked so inviting) but due to Covid restrictions unusable at this time. Love to stay here again if we come back. This was our first bed and breakfast experience, and it exceeded our expectations beyond words. The outside of Abendblume features very stunning Bavarian architecture, and the inside also has incredible level of detail and design. As soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the owner, Kelly, who gave us a brief tour of the common areas and our room. We definitely lucked out with our room because not only did it have an oversized hot tub AND wood-burning fireplace, but we also had the incredible view of the mountains nearby. I thought that we would be able to hear the other guests because we were essentially inside a house, but it was quiet all day and night. The evening dessert, morning coffee, and delicious home-cooked breakfast were the cherries on top. I almost want to keep this gem to ourselves by not sharing our glowing experiences, but this place is too good not to share. My husband and I stayed here in April and really loved this inn! Beautiful room, very comfortable beds and linens. We also enjoyed the breakfast in the dining room and talking to the lady that prepared it. The owner was very nice and gave us recommendations for dinner that were great too. Think "The Sound of Music". About the only thing missing was a chorus of eight (slightly annoying) children wearing drapes turned into matching skirts, and shorts with suspenders. They even have a friendly goat penned in the yard that loves to eat oats out of your hand. A tranquil entry down a long, well maintained gravel driveway lined with trees, leads to a lovely B&B. Each room a little different, but all top notch. The owner went out of her way to make reservations for us for a planned activity, and had driving directions and a map waiting for us as we departed. Our first morning at breakfast, she smiled as she noticed that my wife added hot chocolate mix to her coffee. The following morning at breakfast, there was a larger coffee cup where Kim sat the previous day, and it held a package of hot chocolate mix. Attention to detail ranks high on the list here. Did I mention I am in love? Oh yeah, with the husband for sure, but absolutely with the Abendblume Pension! We have wanted to stay in the Rosengarten room at the Abendblume for over 10 years, after discovering it on our 10 year anniversary in 1998. But for various reasons (couldn't afford it, room booked a year in advance, etc.) we never got to stay here. Finally, nearing our 21st anniversary, we were able book the Rosengarten Room for a Memorial Day weekend get-away. We were not disappointed! This room, and this B&B, are the absolute BEST Leavenworth has to offer. I will never stay anywhere else in Leavenworth again! The Abendblume satisfied all my "homesick for Germany" needs. Everything Terell mentioned about their stay applied to ours as well, with the exception of wonky plumbing. Must have been fixed by the time we were there, because we thoroughly enjoyed the European style shower system. One of the biggest plusses for us was the serenity at the property. The stillness of the surrounding area was so calming that we actually came away from an overnight stay relaxed as if we had stayed for several days. In the evening we sat on the balcony and sipped champagne while listening to the birds and watching the beautiful scenery. At night we slept with the balcony door open and were lulled to sleep by the crickets and frogs. Amazing how loud frogs can be! However, 4am bird chirping, though pleasant, woke me up earlier than I wanted. ;-) I just can't say enough good things about the Abendblume and the Rosengarten Room. If I were to ever own and run a B&B, Abendblume is the kind of place I would try to aspire to match in quality of service, cleanliness, hospitality, and food. I cannot express myself enough at how wonderful the place is! Every detail was attended to; they seriously thought of everything. We walked into the foyer after a long, snowy drive and were immediately greeted by Becky (sister of the owner, who happened to be out of town the weekend we were there), given a short tour, offered dessert, and shown our rooms. The place is like a Thomas Kincaid painting, with plush, overstuffed furniture, wood-burning fireplaces in nearly every room, top of the line down bedding and pillows, jacuzzis with bubble bath, candles lit, and views of the mountains all around. A perfect retreat for any couple desiring a romantic, cozy get-away. PROS: 1. Amazing service. Becky and crew were phenomenal. They showed up whenever we rang the buzzer. For example, Becky turned on the outdoor hottub for us even though the hour was late, told us not to worry when we were finished and that she would turn it off. From coffee and fixings at the top of the landing first thing in the morning, to the breakfast spread at morning meal time, and to dessert and coffee in the evenings, I felt so taken care of. 2. Emaculate. No dust or dirt anywhere. We felt so bad trekking in snow with our boots, that we took our shoes off upon entering. Everything was top of the line and pristine. Fluffy, white towels, white knit robes, white down bedding. Wow. 3. Romantic. There were Valentine's Day decorations everywhere. And soft music playing constantly (e.g. Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro). 4. Delicious food! They make everything in house and everything is super fresh and tasty. Some highlights were the eggs caprice over hashbrowns (the eggs came straight off their farm), almond croissants, ebelskivers with apple syrup, fruit spread, French press coffee for every two people, etc. If you want a local romantic escape, I highly recommend this place! read more

My husband and I recently stayed at the Abendblume during our honeymoon and we were quite impressed! We had chosen to stay in one of the less impressive rooms, and it was still beautiful, well-cared for, and we were treated wonderfully. The owners were out of town while we were there, and a relative was managing the place while we were there, and she was absolutely wonderful! When we had questions regarding hiking in the Wenatchee National Forest, she went out of her way to help us get the answer, recommended good restaurants and even good hikes, and was generally a ball to speak with. Now, onto the breakfast--there are no words. It was THE BEST and most TASTY food. There was literally so much to choose from that I didn't know where to start each morning. Coffee was excellent as well, and my husband and I noticed we tended to stay full until 2 or so while we were here. There was a surprise dessert every evening with decaf coffee which we also loved as well. REgarding the grounds, the Abendblume was situated out of the hubbub of Front Street and down Ski Hill Drive, a lovely location that was more isolated. They had bikes you could borrow to drive down to the main section of Leavenworth, which helped deal with parking issues as well. Food: 5 stars : Renee is a wonderful cook and hostess, her breakfast spread is wonderful and accomodating even for our gluten free needs. She makes Danish pancakes, frittattas, fresh fruit, and baked breads every morning. Attention to detail in every meal. Atmosphere: Immaculate, beautiful. Renee and her husband Randy built this beautiful house and attention to detail is everywhere. I can't say enough about how beautiful this house is and the property it sits on is the most relaxing , green, lush, acreage around. And it's only a few blocks from the main part of leavenworth so you're far enough away to feel like you're in a country villa but literally less than 1/2 mile from town. Activities: Great river rafting, wine tasting, love the solstice spa where we had a couples massage package "cascadia" Overall: I love b&b's and this has been my favorite to date. If there were 10 stars, I would give it! I was hesitant to rate Abendblume for the mere fact that I don't want it to get too booked so we can't go back! I truly think Renee is Mrs. Claus! =) Hadden took me there for Christmas and what a perfect Christmas we had! It is so charming and homey and beautiful! There is a hot breakfast every morning that is wonderful and every night Renee has dessert and coffee out for everyone to enjoy at their leisure! This is the way all B&B should be! We took the train to Leavenworth from Seattle and got a taxi to the Inn. We walked to and from town and it worked out perfect. We also went skiing at Stevens Pass and got the Shuttle to take us and Renee was sweet enough to pack us a little snack bag. I could not have asked for a better place or experience and cannot wait to go back! If you need a romantic getaway, this is the place!! read more

Upon arrival I felt like I stepped into a Pinterest Christmas scene. The attention to detail in the themed decor and the various expertly created crafts were impressive to say the least. I honestly can't say enough good things about Abendblume! The inn keepers hospitality is top notch. They are so nice and really make you feel as though you're a good friend staying in their home. Breakfast was utterly amazing! Home baked goods, farm fresh eggs, hot coffee and good company. We loved it! Desert left out in the evenings was a lovely touch. Not much beats a freshly baked pie! The rooms offer lots of privacy and the common areas are so comfortable for visiting with other guests. The grounds are stunning and wandering around outside (saying hi to the chickens and horses) was lovely. We will be planning another trip and highly recommend this inn to everyone. There are so many B&Bs to choose from in Leavenworth but I doubt any can rival the magical experience given to guests at Abendblume Pension. It's quaint, fairly off the beaten path, and, in a charming Bavarian town where all signs are in the same font as Disney's Sleeping Beauty's opening title (the town has a Disney quality to it as well), Abendblume holds a certain sophisticated authenticity that makes you feel like you're really staying out in the German countryside. This place is the real deal. Notable Mentions: 1. Renee - she runs Abendblume and is the absolute heart and soul of this place. Just sweet and doting upon first meeting. She goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is memorable. From the nightly desserts served at 8pm, to the lovely music in the kitchen, to even making sure coffee was ready well before the sun came up for my husband and I (we were running a race and left before anyone was awake, and she prepared coffee an hour before it's usual time just to make sure we had some before leaving), to the lovely breakfast and charming decor and table settings. 2. Breakfast - it's a continental breakfast and then some. Definitely the closest thing I've experienced to the breakfasts I had whilst visiting Germany. Fresh baked cinnamon bread, Danish pancakes sprinkled with powdered sugar and served with homemade apple syrup, sliced meats and cheeses, and endless cups of delicious coffee. Make sure you don't miss this during your stay. 3. The Room - Clean (that alone deserves 5 stars - not a speck of dust) and unbelievably cozy. Fluffed pillows and luxurious bath soaps in their multi-directional steam shower. We had a balcony with a scenic view of sprawling fields of flowers and this cute horse/mule trio of BFFs that seemed like they were pulled right out of an equestrian painting (with mules). 4. Horses/Mules - This might be an odd thing to add to the list but these guys totally made the trip. Social and totally unafraid of people; I wondered if they were planted there to add some magic to the visitor experience. Does someone care for this trio or did they wander onto the AP property and decide that this is where they would call home, frolicking until the end of time. They were so cute that we decided to pet them and they were receptive and sweet as ever.* Overall, there is not one thing that was not amazing about this place. HIGHLY recommended if you want to experience a true getaway in Leavenworth. *No idea if it's safe to pet the horses/mules so we may have almost gotten our fingers bitten off without realizing it. My wife and I just visited Abendblume Pension BNB for the first time. The Chalet and property fit well into Leavenworth's culture and scenic views. Breakfast was Bavarian themed, delicious and satisfying. Living area was immaculately decorated to theme as were the rooms. It was a very peaceful stay. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Abendblume! It was our first getaway to Leavenworth and we picked the right place for sure. Kelly welcomed us when we arrived and gave us a tour. We felt welcome right away; all of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The b & b and the grounds are gorgeous. We loved all of the beautiful flowers. You can tell the place is taken care of with great love. The peace and quiet is wonderful after spending the day browsing around the shops in downtown Leavenworth. The food was delicious. I really appreciated the coffee that was put out each morning and there were many different options at breakfast each day. I would say the nightly dessert may be my favorite part! There was an amazing cobbler the first night, a really good spice cake the second night, and chocolate chip cookies on our third night. My wife and I only stayed one night on our way back from our road trip vacation, but wished we had stayed longer. When we pulled up, we didn't see anybody about, and when I walked around back, I was greeted by a beautiful Yellow Lab named Jackson. Turns out his bed was right outside our deck, and it was nice to be greeted by him in the morning when I stepped out for some fresh air, and he LOVES back rubs and playing fetch. We had the downstairs room with a king bed and slept very well. Breakfast was fantastic. There was only a couple of minor glitches in that we didn't know there was coffee available before breakfast upstairs, and didn't know where our room key was, we found it on the floor by the door. read more

If you're looking for a relaxing, truly European place to stay in in Leavenworth, Abendblume Pension is the place to stay. There are about 7 rooms total. Try and book one of the upstairs rooms if you can. All of them are decorated slightly different. Several of the upstairs rooms have heated marble floors, gas fireplaces in the room, a couple of the suites have private jacuzzi tubs as well. Everything about this bed and breakfast has a European touch including the goose down pillows and duvets on the beds. The rooms are pretty and Oh So Comfortable. The breakfasts are made to order by the owners every morning and served in the dining room downstairs. It's not unusual for the owner to serve breakfast in his Liederhosen shorts.
