We got to eat everything and take leftovers home. It was a little out of my comfort zone, but in the best way. Such a great group activity--they offer private events, catering, and public classes, so it'd be perfect for a date night or girls day too. Her food is fresh, flavorful, healthy, interesting, seasonal, and beautifully presented. It requires a minimal amount of prep beyond heating, a few veggie and/or herb chops, and voila! The portions are surprisingly hearty, and I always have leftovers, whether I am ordering for 1 or 2. Customer service is always on point, responsive, professional. I'm so grateful we have a local answer to some of the bigger box meal delivery services. While I enjoyed those in the past, I feel better knowing my food is coming from the local community, instead of mass shipped across the US. There was a very long line and a gentleman that seemed like the manager was the only person working the register. There was also a hard working employee out in the dining room furiously trying to clean the tables, floor, etc. The employees were so kind and asking for some empathy as they never have a lunch rush this late in the day. I assume people were out Christmas shopping and that changed things up. I ordered a half sandwich and cup of soup with a tea. Everything was brought out hot and promptly, again, despite how slammed they were. It was all done with a smile. The food was fine, but the employees were what really made me want to return. I always forget this is here, but I will be back now!

Dorothy Lane Market -- Mason, Ohio…read more If you're looking for a grocery store that feels like Whole Foods--but better, check out Dorothy Lane Market in Mason! I stopped in today and, as always, ended up finding way more than I planned. First, you absolutely cannot leave without trying the bakery. I picked up their pecan salted caramel brownies, and these things are KILLER ( thus their name Killer Brownies) They have one of the best bakery selections I've come across, and everything looked so fresh and tempting. I also grabbed some sourdough bread and a salted soft pretzel. Their meat selection is fantastic too. We picked up some specialty brats, including Hawaiian brats with pineapple and brown sugar and Bourbon Peach brats. I also couldn't resist their gourmet blended burgers. For my wife, I grabbed the Steakhouse Burger, which is infused with provolone, A.1. sauce, garlic, salt, and pepper. For myself, I went with the Philly Burger, loaded with peppers, onions, and cheese sauce. Talk about taking burgers to another level! Yes, Dorothy Lane Market is more expensive than your average grocery store, but you can really see and taste the difference in the quality. From the bakery to the specialty meats and prepared foods, this is definitely a place where you're paying for quality. If you're a foodie--or just like discovering great specialty grocery stores--Dorothy Lane Market is worth the trip. I walked in for a few things and walked out with enough food to plan several meals. I ordered 9 items yesterday, and when I parked at the appropriate spot, a person brought me two bags of items and walked away. I checked the bags and found 8 items instead of 9. I went to the pick-up door and knocked. The same person opened the door. I told him I was missing one item, and he got offended immediately, told me that I ordered 8 and paid for 8. I asked for his receipt, but he told me it is on my phone. While I was looking for the receipt, he shut the door and never opened it again. I went inside the store and asked one of the management personnel, who found me another manager. That manager heard my story, and first he said that I am probably paid for 8 but not 9. I showed him the receipt (which stated 9 items). He checked my order and said he would give me a refund. I told him that I need 9 items, because it is the presents and I can't give 8 presents to 9 people. He said that they probably don't have one, but we found it in the store. I realize that all people make mistakes, but a rude and careless attitude is not acceptable. I felt like they didn't care about the customer. When I asked to take action to prevent similar disrespectful behavior for future customers, they just told me to go and place a review. It seems like they don't really care. At least I am making sure everyone around me is aware of this poorly designed business and rude employee.

While this is the bigger, more modern choice, to me the flow of the store is odd compared to other Krogers. It also seems to be much busier at all times of day. Recently I was in the area waiting for a take out order to be ready, and needed to grab some groceries. I had heard this location was doing better with precautions in 2020 than most Krogers that seem to be a free for all, so I gave it a try. Not much has changed here. It was nice to see a dedicated cart cleaner at the front of the store, which I sadly haven't ever seen at other locations. Most of the customers were wearing masks, which was nice. The organization and stock of the store wasn't bad. The meat section was actually fairly well stocked and the deli was actually operating. Check out was a little more of a free for all, despite 6ft being clearly marked. I avoided the crazier looking self checkout area for an associate, but had to bag my own groceries and she made me feel rushed. This location does have a Starbucks, a Murrays Cheese, and Kroger gas out front. There was a very nice selection of seasonal plants outside.

The restaurant was very clean, and there is plenty of parking in the strip mall. Service was friendly. All of the servers pitched in and helped out, so we were never without drink refills. I think we'll stick with those and pass on a future visit to Bones.
