We got exactly what we came for and had no over-the-top expectations. The food was good, it came out fast, and the service was beyond friendly from every staff member we interacted with. Our server was super nice, made sure we were taken care of, and checked in on us from time to time without being overbearing. We ordered the fried pickles and a few meals. My kids weren't that hungry, so they had smaller meals. My husband and I both got the fish and chips -- mine with onion rings and his with mac & cheese. Again, it's a neighborhood Friendly's. I genuinely don't know what some people are expecting. I also have to mention something we witnessed while we were there today. Another customer was completely out of his mind and was treating one of the employees absolutely disgustingly for seemingly no reason whatsoever. I was shocked by the entire interaction, but even more shocked by how well the Friendly's employee handled it. They remained calm and composed throughout the entire situation despite how disrespectfully they were being treated. It was honestly insane to sit there and witness and hear. Afterward, the employee even apologized to my family and me for having to witness the whole thing -- when THEY were the one who had just been treated horribly! That alone says a lot about the staff here. The restaurant itself has that old-fashioned, colorful diner-style Friendly's look. It was also very clean. Would I come back? Absolutely. For a quick, casual bite, I'd come back again. Next time I'd probably keep it simple with a grilled cheese and 100% get those fried pickles again because they were delicious AF!

Nostalgia was high, but right off the bat here are a few notes worth noting: Dark, Outdated machines The bathroom has a fidgeting passcode lock system that can be a nightmare to use when your fingers are all slimy and coated with sauce. And speaking of sauce, my GOD. The wings were absolutely drowned in it. Biggest mistake we made. The chicken was thoroughly overcooked, all you tasted was sugar syrup and a deep, fake BBQ flavor. The staff was impatient with us, and unprofessional. Sad to see such a place go so far downhill, and that's why this was our last time visiting the old Cluck U. We salute you

The menu has a good number of varied choices on it but not so many that you are overwhelmed. I decided on the "Texican Bowl" which consisted of crumbled chorizo sausage, jalapeños, onions, peppers, and melted pepper jack cheese over crispy seasoned home fries then finished with two eggs (I chose scrambled). It was absolutely great! Well seasoned and the potatoes were expertly cooked! I appreciated the portion size for the cost as well. I paired this with the "Peachy Palmer" which is, as you can imagine, a peach flavored Arnold Palmer. I quite enjoyed this drink as it was very refreshing and not overly sweet as you tend to find elsewhere. My fiancé enjoyed the "Chorizo Scrambler" which was scrambled eggs with Cheddar cheese topped with crumbled chorizo, fresh tomatoes, avocado, and a chile-lime crema. She chose rye toast to go along with it. The bowl was excellent! The tomatoes and avocado were very fresh which was nice. The entire plate was balanced and flavorful. She also enjoyed an iced "Caramel Cinnamon Smile" coffee which was also excellent. Our waitress, Becca, was polite and friendly throughout and as attentive as she could be. She brought our drinks promptly and our food came out hot and exactly how we wanted it. She did a great job for us! Another highlight was that the GM John engaged with us to ensure we were enjoying our experience. He really seems like he wants the customers to enjoy everything and it shows. I mentioned growing up in Texas and asked about the grits and he gave me a bit to try, they were also very good! The restaurant is bright and open though, even with the large number of tables and the level of business at the time, it was not obnoxiously loud. The staff definitely keeps the place clean and tables were bussed fairly quickly (nothing left sitting). Overall, this place is a definite keeper for us across the board. While this was only our first experience here, I expect we will be back fairly soon (and probably quite often).

Unfortunately, the food arrived cold, the scrambled eggs were dry, and the pancakes came topped with whipped cream even though it wasn't listed on the menu. The one highlight was the bacon--it was cooked perfectly. The other meal was eggs over easy with sausage. Unfortunately, the eggs were overcooked and came out over hard with no runny yolk. The restaurant itself was very clean, and you could tell it's new. There were plenty of staff members, and everyone seemed friendly and attentive to their tables--except for our waitress. She never checked on us during the meal, and after we had finished eating and waited about 10 minutes for our check, she came over and said, "I didn't realize you even had your food." I understand restaurants can have busy mornings, but better communication and follow-up from our server would have made a big difference. Hopefully, this was just an off day because the restaurant has a lot of potential.
