Consistency is one of the biggest key factors that can make or break a business and NJ Gourmet does not disappoint! I have been ordering weekly meals and picking them up every Sunday since 2022. My orders have always been accurate and fulfilled on time. What sets them apart from other meal prep companies is that they actually prepare and cook everything in-house. They don't order bulk items of frozen vegetables or anything of the sort. They even make their own sauces and dressings. They put a lot of love into their food and you can tell within the first few bites. They have a large selection of meals and bulk items to choose from and are always experimenting with new items to add to the menu. They have poultry, beef, seafood, vegetarian, low carb, etc. I've tried nearly everything and they are all fresh and packed with flavors/seasonings! Some of my favorites are the Turkey Breakfast Burrito, Teriyaki Steak, Chicken Parm, and Carnitas Fajita. Each meal is well-balanced and labeled with macros and calories for those who are health conscious. If you're on your fitness journey, this is a perfect option to help you keep your nutrition on track. The process for ordering is simple. You go on their website and choose your food. You have the option of pickup or delivery (select days and times depending on your location). If you choose to pick up, they're located in Fair Lawn on Broadway. Myke (the owner) and his staff are passionate about serving food that is healthy, delicious, and caters to multiple people. They really care about their customers and it shows. P.S. They offer catering. P.P.S. If you miss the order deadline and if you're lucky, they have grab-and-go meals available for purchase in store for whatever hasn't sold out for the week. The mixed platter comes with one white sauce on the side and a drizzle of their sauce onto the platter. The mixed platter tasted okay, it was pretty luke warm when I got it and the meat (chicken and gyro meat) were a bit dry and not very flavorful. Overall, for late night if you are craving meat over rice platter boss isn't bad. However it isn't amazing either. It was filling and you have a vehicle for white sauce is what it boiled down too.

Nice black-owned spot with variety of vegan options and it is clean. There's space to dine-in and they are open on Sundays. The energy is also open enough where strangers will have a convo while waiting. Coming from Brooklyn, I'm happy to have this spot so close to where I am now. Savory: My go-to is the chickpea tuna sandwich. I've tried it on a roll, long sub, and gluten-free... highly recommend the long sub. It's way too messy on the roll for me. Typically get it with the works. The potato salad is also very good most of the time (sometimes the potatoes are a little undercooked). I've also had the macaroni salad and the fried mushroom sandwich which are also good. I definitely enjoyed the thanksgiving special with stuffing (highly recommend that if they bring it back this year). Tip: if ordering a hero and you don't see yourself eating the entire thing in one sitting, I recommend requesting for the sandwich to not be cut so you can cut it evenly on your own For baked goods: the peach cobbler is good and it comes in a cute cup with a little spoon. I've also had the lemon cake & rum cake. Would order all 3 again. Would love to see donuts or cinnamon rolls (hopefully without cashews or walnuts due to my allergy). DRINKS: I haven't had a drink there that I would get again. The teas are overwhelmingly sweet; hibiscus punch was a lot like kool-aid to me. I also don't recommend the matcha if you are a matcha snob. Harper's Cafe is a great black-owned spot for a consistently good latte and they use quality matcha if you want quality nearby. Great spot with lots of options, especially if you're looking for a black-owned spot to support.

It's the perfect lunch, and honestly the perfect beach day meal too. There's just something about a giant, delicious vegan sub that hits every time. A while back they hosted a soul food night with oyster mushrooms, mac and cheese, greens, the whole lineup, and it was amazing. But those deli subs are still the thing I keep coming back for. They're huge, filling, and just taste like someone really cared while putting them together. There's seating inside and a wall where you can write your name, which I think is such a cute touch. Makes the place feel personal and loved. I also tried their carrot cake at VegFest recently and it was delicious and moist. They had a pretty steady line of people the entire time, so clearly the vegan crowd knows what's up. The subs run around $20 and everything is made fresh to order, so expect to wait a bit. It's worth it. I'm definitely looking forward to going back soon!!
