After taking a stroll around the madness, I settled on a banh mi from this health focused, delivery only Jersey City local. Offering up a few different choices (fried chicken, falafel, or roast pork over a bowl of greens or stuffed into a baguette, some picked veggies, and a selection of sauces), the roast pork banh mi looked too good to pass up. A suitably crusty French roll was slathered in a black garlic aioli, layered with pickled daikon/carrots/cilantro/jalapeno slices and topped with roast lemongrass pork. The meat was incredibly tender and the flavours worked wonders together. It was crying out for that missing piece (a good pate) but made for a great lunch, especially when paired with fresh watermelon juice.

He showed up on time and well prepared the day of, his assistant Tara was early. Lovely people, friendly, sociable and very professional. Mark likes it if anyone in the crowd wants to watch him cook or asks questions! What can I say? Dinner was fabulous, beyond fabulous. We had the 6-course private dinner (steak) and Mark brought plenty of food. Mark let me make minor changes to the menu a few times (10 adults and 6 kids) and he let me know of some very neat and tasty alternatives & seasonal ingredients we could use. We loved the appetizers, salad was amazing, diver scallops were huge and plenty, he made two different specialty pastas (we all had 2nds of this, and large NY Strip steaks. Oh, and the brownie bread pudding was great. We usually finish our plates but all the early courses were so good a few half eaten (perfectly cooked for rare, medium rare and medium folks) steaks were packaged up. Keep up the great work Mark. We're looking forward to the next event.

I called the number and was told the driver got a flat tire and there is "nothing they do can about that." I completely understand things happen however, acceptable customer service would be to notify the customers of such delay. I was offered no compensation until I asked and was then offered $10 off the next delivery. The gentleman I spoke with seemed irritated with me which is disappointing. Yes, I am frustrated because I am hungry and I have to get my baby ready for bed - dinnertime is quickly closing. I am hoping the food the good but the reliability of the delivery and customer service needs some improvement.

So I passed this place many times on my way home and knew it was Dominican cuisine but kept saying,…read moreI will try this at some point. Then one day on IG someone was reviewing it and I saw their Chimi Sandwich. I knew I had to make my way ASAP. So on my first visit, I ordered online for a pick up of their Chimi Sandwich (not pictured). The online app was okay but could use some tweaking. As soon as I unraveled the foil and bit into this sandwich, it brought me back to my days growing up in Washington Heights eating these sandwich's at 3AM off the food trucks of Highbridg Park. Instant euphoria and was upset when it was over. A must try. On my second visit, I tried their breakfast to see if this place can be consistent. I had the Mangu con Los Tres Golpes with onions. Not a drop left on the plate. Anda much needed nap followed right after. That meal is how you start your day, but be warned....sleepiness will come right after. On my third visit, I tried their Jersey Chopped Cheese. A great sandwich but I still prefer the Chimi overall. They add potato sticks as a nice treat and the Chimi sauce (Dominican mayo/ketchup blend) comes on the side, which I like to pour over the sandwich or dip when possible. Overall my experience with this place has been nothing but extraordinary. I sat there on my last trip and there is limited seating and fun locals who are taking their lunch breaks from their strenuous jobs. They offer rice dishes with different protein similar to most Dominican restaurants. Totally worth the visit and one of my new favorite local places. And as a Latino, I appreciate the small business in a community that is very mixed raced with limited great Dominican establishments.

I'm giving a 4 stars because the food is so delicious and I've always had a good experience except a couple of nights ago. They used to sell burger dogs it was basically if a hamburger and hotdog had a baby and it's so good, that's what I usually order, when we called it in we said "burger dogs" and places the order like normal, they charge a couple dollars for delivery. Couple minutes pass by and we decided we forgot to add something to the order so we call them and ask for it to be placed with the other one. We are told we have to pay a delivery fee again because it's by card, which didn't make sense to me at all, he spoke to the owner and they said if it's in cash we don't have to pay that delivery fee but by card we have to nothing he can do thankfully we had enough cash on hand but that already made me feel some type of way, once the food arrives I realize it was a burger (not the burger dog so it didn't have the sausage) honestly I was just so disappointed so I called them and they said they don't sell burger dogs anyone how people have been getting confused, but correct me if I'm wrong, if a coustomer calls and says burger dog wouldn't you correct then right there by saying they don't make it anymore, but over all the food is good but how everything was handled from the miscommunication and then the delivery fee I feel like is unacceptable especially since I've been such a loyal customer and supported them before they even opened this location.

My go to order is the Old American Omelette which comes with crispy turkey bacon, toast with butter, fresh home fries, and an omelette with diced onions, ham and yellow cheese. The wings themselves were very crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I recently noticed that they have GrubHub services which will make me want to buy more often than I should. Overall I definitely recommend this spot to anyone in the area, especially if you're a student at HCCC and is craving GREAT food.
