Get there early! We came late morning on a Saturday and there was, understandably, a wait. It was worth it. They do have outside seating. This particular morning was chilly so all seating was inside. My husband had a BLT on baguette that came with their seasoned potatoes. He said the baguette had a nice chew to it and the bacon was crispy. The potatoes were delicious. My daughter chose the Parisian Crepe. It had fresh berries, whipped cream, raspberry coulis and maple syrup. She savored each bite. I selected the Croque Madame. It is one of my favorites, and I normally cannot find it anywhere. Croque Madame is an open faced sandwich. They used brioche bread for the base, then had ham and Swiss cheese over bechamel with poached eggs perched on top. I chose to get the side salad with was mixed greens and vinaigrette. We all enjoyed our breakfast. Even with the crowd, we did not feel rushed. The service was great. Our water was kept filled throughout. I would definitely go back. Next time I want to check out the bakery portion.

The portions here are generous without sacrificing quality and taste. The food is always flavorful and prepared as ordered. The beignets are served hot and fresh and heavily dusted with powdered sugar. The beignets are a must! My favorite dish to order is the cajun omelette with potatoes. The omelette comes with spicy sausage and diced ham in creole sauce. You have a choice of grits or potatoes. Pro tip: Add their creole seasoning to your meal for an added flavor kick. It also comes with a buttermilk biscuit with their homemade jam. The restaurant is very quaint and has a homey vibe. You'll find Mardi Gras beads and Creole posters/memorabilia throughout the restaurant reminding you of its roots and culture. Of course, I'd love for the space to be a little bigger, but for the most part, it's manageable. The space is small and it does get busy so expect a wait. Service is great also. Everyone is friendly and attentive. We asked for our beignets to be served after our meal and our server remembered. She refiled our coffee consistently and checked on us periodically. Definitely check out Lucile's if you've never tried it. Highly recommend!

The lack of wait to order combined with the large crowd waiting for food should have clued me in to move on. The woman taking my order warned that food would take 25-30 minutes. Much longer than desirable, but I figured I could manage that wait and proceeded with my order: chicken and waffles for $16 + tip. Thirty minutes pass. 10 more minutes pass. Finally at about 47 minutes after I placed my order, with the headline concert time fast approaching, I inquire where my order is on the queue. She a scrolls down past many orders ahead of mine and predicts at least 15 more minutes. I request refund and walk away. No dinner for me at "Taste of FoCo". :( Bottom line: Worst food truck experience ever. Please, know your limitations and figure out how to accurately tell customers how long the wait. One hour is truly unacceptable, as one does not attend festivals to wait around for food to miraculously appear. Had I been told from the outset that it would be an hour or more, I wouldn't have ordered and could've chosen another place to eat. I gave two stars only because I've eaten their food after a Fortitude run years ago and it was good. Also because it couldn't have been easy for the poor girl taking orders to have all those hungry eyes staring at her hoping their order was next. She was nice.

My daughter ordered the gluten free european waffle minus the nutella. I also ordered the gluten free/vegan european waffle. The portion sizes were definitely generous. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed all of her breakfast and thought it was delicious. Mine was a little bit sweet for me, if i were to go back again i would get gluten free vegan waffle with only the fruit on top. My husband would like to go and check out the waffle lab though so i imagine we will be back :) It is cool to know that there is a location that offers gluten free waffles. I have told some friends and they will be sending some folks over. The location is clean. The staff was friendly. There is limited parking however.
