He looked at us like we certainly were not welcome there. We squeezed through the door anyway, and he promptly stated we're closing in 15 minutes, stating "what do you need?". The clerks just glared at us, appalled that we had come in at 4:45pm, while they were still OPEN. The clerk continue to be rude and condescending. I did ask him to measure my son's shirt size anyway. When we told him what type of shirt we wanted, he basically mocked us. At that point we had had enough... We left. By the way, it was well before five when we walked out the door... we weren't in the store but a few minutes. I've purchased suits and shirts there before. We were treated like we didn't belong. The way my daughter was treated at Uptown Bridal was insensitive and they exhibited horrible customer service skills. It is their policy not to allow children under 12 into their store. It was not communicated that this is their policy when my daughter asked if she could bring her daughter. This is an exciting time for my three year old granddaughter as well as my daughter. I was on my way and could have stayed with my granddaughter since this was their policy but they didn't give my daughter a chance to come up with a solution. My granddaughter was looking forward to seeing her mommy look like a princess and my daughter was humiliated. Everything in here fits within a 5000 square-foot space and they have lots of furniture and clothing of course (mostly women's). My husband is 6'3" with shoulders like a linebacker and a longer than average torso. Nothing standard seems to fit, yet the store manager managed to get him decked out head to toe in some pretty well fitting items. He took my husband's and my tastes into account and used humor to make the emergency seem like less of an emergency. We will be back after the funeral to get a few minor alterations that they recommended but overall, he looked pretty darned good! He also found some extra long ties off the clearance rack (who knew they had extra long ties?!? Not me!) to make the final price tag a little lower. Really great service overall. Another seamstress had made a mess with my wedding dress and nearly ruined it and I went to pick it up 2 days before my wedding. I was in a total panic and called La Grange. Catalina patiently listened to my hysteric complaints before telling me to come in and fixing all of the issues in about 4 hours- only charging about a quarter of what the other seamstress charged. She is the best seamstress you will find and the most affordable. I cannot wait to use her again!
