Me. Tree, his actual name is Joe Noriega, calls himself "Shane". He came out 2 weeks ago to assess my Ash Tree for shock. My flowering plum is also in bad shape. I was given a quote and e-mailed him back his form asking for my signature. I signed it! He shared he was busy..... Here I am, calling his "office" for a date to come out. The usual run around, no call. I called again this last Tuesday, and was told by staff, she would get ahold of Shane and would text me back, very soon. No text! So, last night, I called and declined his service! He called this morning and told me my Ash tree would not make it! Then why are you not here sooner than later? if earlier you could help me? He then said, he could do 1/2 a treatment for more than half my quoted price. Really?NOT!! I have been "treating" my landscape with something that Kelly (Star Nursery -Cheyenne) recommended, and I notice there is more green color on Cypress and new growth on my Ash tree. Shane did not care, offered nothing but a "busy" schedule, and a so-called price reduction to still be a sham! He is based out of Henderson and I am NW Vegas. He should not have accepted this job if he's worried about his gas. Gas did come up in our conversation! I could go on about his personality,too, but you get the idea! Not the first time I had my trees cut. Never used them because they were always the most expensive. My trees are large, this year I thought ok. So they come out. I live off the mountain, it's very windy. We spoke about thinning because of my fear with the wind, and cutting and trimming for symmetry . Some guy comes out and with a laser points at some branches for them to cut, then leaves. The crew comes and cut off a few branches. Never thinned out and left a bunch of stragglers. I called and asked for the arborist to come to my home and look at what I think is a poor job. He says he didn't write it up to thin out! That was the jest of our conversation and that next time he will write it that way!!! WTF !!!! I pointed out branches they didn't cut, he went and got his tree cutter and cleaned up the bottom where he could reach. I paid them almost $1700.00, and I will have to pay someone else in the spring again! Never again will I go with Mr. Tree! I truly believe this is their business model. Come, estimate, agree. Send a contract, you sign thinking it's what you discussed, and you sign it, my fault for not reading it . Thinking we just discussed the entire job. They count on you trusting your conversation and not reading every word. Then you pay top top dollar for an incomplete job. And have to pay them or someone else to get what you thought you were paying for. In reading other experiences, more than one said the same thing, they barely cut it, so you have to rehire them or someone else... hope this all makes sense . read more

A lot of confusion in the appointments. They said many times we didn't have to be home for the work. I have locked gates. It took several calls to get a window for the work and fertilizing to be done. After the work was done I discovered some dates behind the palm that they missed Joe came out and took care of it. I wanted to talk to him about some more work and the condition of the trees. Two men showed up with no appointment and I wasn't home. We have magnolia trees that need TLC and we came across Mr. Tree. We consulted with Joe about our magnolia trees and he guaranteed that he can revive them. So we hired them and had them put fertilizer in our magnolia trees and also our small plants in the yard. Our magnolia trees still look the same when Joe came back in May this year. And none of our small plants in the yard that they also fertilized have not seen a tiny improvement at all. We will not use this company ever again. read more

After this hottest Summer ever, our Silver Dollar Eucalyptus looked like it was going to die! It is our favorite tree, and 3 stories high. Mr. Tree (Joe) and Terry came to our door the same day we called them with a "911" plea. Today Terry (also called Shane) an arborist, came and treated 5 trees, including a Bottle tree that would have "drowned" due to how it was planted. We can hope now that all will recover! I had Mr Tree remove a 2 story height tree from the side of my house that had roots threatening the foundation. They provided a very competitive bid and gave me the options of grinding the stump or cutting the stump at ground level and poisoning it to prevent regrowth. I chose the latter as it was less expensive. It took a few weeks for them to schedule the service, but it was worth the wait. I reached out to this company to find a qualified arborist to advise or treat (14) Japanese blueberry shrubs,purchased from Moon Valley for $12,000! With that amount invested in these trees, you can imagine my devastation seeing them slowly die. Anywho, I was told Joe was coming to view them. I told her "I'm off work today so if they're available, today would be great"! NOAH shows up 10 mins later....he pretty much says we need to treat the soil for $395 every three months with his "special solution" ! As any customer would do I attempted to negotiate the cost. Mr. Tree just changed my world! The tree in my front yard hasn't been professionally trimmed in many years. An old, ugly hybrid tree picked up all the bad traits of both species used to create it. I needed to have Mr. Tree crown clean and raise the chetalpa, off a roof or two, and make it presentable (or as presentable as a chetalpa ever gets). Trucks and machines and workers showed up on time and removed dead twigs and branches, cut suckers, stubs and overly dense sections away. The crew were all knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. They cleaned up every tiny twig, and waved goodbye in 30 minutes. I'm so pleased with the results. Makes me want to plant many more trees (just not chetalpas) so I can have them trimmed. read more

I have a dead tree in the backyard that has some utility lines running through it, so I needed to have a licensed and insured company remove the tree. After speaking with other tree contractors I found many did not want to work around the utility lines. I found Mr. Tree on Yelp and looked at their ratings and website and was very impressed, so I gave them a phone call. I don't recall the exact interaction between myself and the woman who answered the phone, but I do recall thinking to myself, "Is this an answering service and not an actual employee?". The woman took my information, this was Nov 8. A few days later I received an email with an estimate. The estimate was fair (I had a tree in the front removed the previous year so I had a good comparison), I approved the work a day or two later, they responded with 2 emails, one saying they received my approval, the other explaining their scheduling process and that they were a few weeks out for appointments. About 4 weeks later, I get an email with the scheduled time. In their email it states: "YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE HOME, as long as we have access we can perform the service". The property is a rental, so I inform the tenant of the schedule and remind them to unlock the gate so the contractor can have access. At 06:40 on Dec 11, the day of the 07:00 appointment, I get this email: Appointment Reminder Scheduled visit reminder by Mr. Tree LV, LLC lic. 60522 - 12/11/2024 7:00AM Hi G****** LLC, sorry for the last minute change this was your appointment but I have two key people out today and one is the climber I need to do that type of complicated removal so going to pull this back and reschedule I will let you know. Sorry for the inconvenience. We have scheduled the following date to perform your Tree Service OR Deep Root Fertilization. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE HOME, as long as we have access we can perform the service and will email an invoice after completion and you have 15 days to send your payment. Date: 12/11/2024 Where: ********************************* Time: 7:00AM As you can see, the email reschedules the appt for the same time. It is also, obviously a form letter as Deep Root Fertilization is not needed for a tree removal. (So, is the "my guy can't make it today" part of the form letter as well?) It was after I got a call from the tenant wondering where the tree service was that I saw the above email, then later I found an automated text from them the day before asking me to confirm the appointment, the text message had been overlooked as a generic spam message. On Dec 14 I got an email with a rescheduled date. Dec 18 @ 07:00. TBH I had kind of written them off as I had considered the first cancellation essentially a no-show, but I needed the tree removed so I rolled with it and let the tenant know to leave the gate unlocked. Today, Dec 18, I get a call at 07:20 from an unknown number, for whatever reason I actually answered it. It was someone from the tree service telling me that he was having trouble understanding the tenant through the Ring, (what happened to: YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE HOME) and letting me know that he felt he didn't have access to the back yard. It was obvious he was frustrated and perhaps angry at the situation, but I'm pretty sure he was a subcontractor, or perhaps a regular employee, who is probably sent out on too many jobs where the estimator didn't do a thorough analysis of the site. Admittedly, there are logs from the previous tree on the side of the house with the unlocked gate, but 1. the estimator did not mention this to me, and the yard has not changed, and 2. there is enough room for people to get through, additionally, the logs from the tree they were to remove were to stay onsite in the backyard. Also to note: 2 people and a chainsaw brought down the much, much larger tree in the front yard, so not a lot of room should have been needed. Ultimately, I had ONE phone call with Mr. Tree, and that was likely with an answering service. The rest of their communication (job cancellation) seems to rely on an electronic automated system. It also seems as if they did not visit the site prior to their arrival this morning and likely did the estimate via Google maps. Judging by their website I truly expected a much more personalized service, but it felt more like I was dealing with a big conglomerate in NYC. read more

The group that came over exhibited a lack of professionalism. They were cutting down my neighbor's tree and using my front lawn as there walkway. My goal was to have their condition checked out and then trimmed/pruned correctly to keep them healthy and good-looking. After the evaluation, the company sent a team of 6 workers to complete the project. It was an impressive sight watching each one of them do their job overseen by a supervisor. Four trees trimmed and I am a happy camper. Growing up in California I'm used to having Redwoods and Eucalyptus trees trimmed by a professional yearly. When I bought my new home here in Vegas the trees on my property worried me by how sickly they looked and how poorly they had been cut. I felt lucky to search and find an arborist who also maintained trees. It's a valuable service and one that I paid two people to do in my NorCal home. Mr. Tree came out and assured me with a feee quote that the trees were fine but did need cleaning up and could use feeding. Due to weather he sets up a date about a week out via email and tries hard to stick to it. His entire crew rolled up for my trees. They took extra care to make sure my landscaping, garden, windows, and neighbors yard were all protected. The team split up and conquered! I know a few people here have mentioned butchered trees but you have to realize that this isn't a light trim. When a yearly maintenance happens they prune back deeply, plan for new growth, and remove anything they see as dangerous to your home or the tree. So yeah, often this looks like a really bad haircut for the first few months. Then as the tree has space to start growing again, and filling in correctly, it looks really good. As I said, I grew up with trees so I'm used to this tree cutting cycle. For someone who's never seen it before it can be abrupt. I'm no expert but my trees seem happier and I can imagine how they are going to grow in. I also know the team did all the cutting with care, training, skill, and a love for trees. I appreciate that. They cleaned up the best they could when they were done (it was a LOT of tree coming down) and even made sure all my potted plants and such were put back. My husband said more needed to be taken off so I spoke to the Super on the job and all of a sudden he couldn't speak English and was trying to explain in broken English "oh no, it all good"! So my neighbor came to me and said that my mesquite tree was over hanging quite a bit onto his property and that the pods were making a mess. ( this is true) so he hired mr tree to trim the tree. He needed my permission to get onto my property in order to do this. I agreed but told my neighbor I wanted to meet with the guy cutting down the tree to ask some questions. I called him and asked him to come over and please give me a call a half hour ahead of time so I can put my dogs up. He just shows up at 9 am and I'm not awake or dressed. I said oh I missed your call?.. in a not happy voice and he replied oh well I was in the neighborhood. ...(good for him)He came over and we spoke for about 20 min. He was suppose to send me a quote on trimming my half of the backyard tree.. (which I never got).One of the mesquite trees was in my back yard and one in the front.i was VERY concerned about how the front would look. Joe was on time to the appointment, walked me around the tree, asked about my expectation, then told me what was 'needed' to make this tree healthy again. He sent an estimate via email, and said 'thank you for calling'. Two weeks later, five professionals lead by Mike pull up in three trucks, friendly, but ready to work. This morning the timely and polite team from Mr. Tree arrived at my home 30 minutes early to provide tree trimming service to our tall front California Pepper tree. We needed a large limb that was growing out toward the street to be removed and to have a general trimming to remove the multi year overgrowth that had developed. The team worked quickly and neatly completed the job and cleanup. With their multiple piece of equipment and team members the removed the limb and the excess growth and completed within 30 minutes of their arrival. I had 13 oleanders that were there since the 1970s. After an hour and a half now it looks like the oleanders never existed. They went above and beyond. Me tree is the only contractor who asked what my end goal was then gave me a suggestions that saved me money. They cut and stump ground the bushes instead of removing them since I have a shallow sewer in the yard that the roots wrapped around, clogging it up. Will use again.
