Boltz Automotive read my post and reached out to me letting me know what time and day they would be available to look at my vehicle and do a diagnostic on my vehicle for $150 and let me know exactly what work needed to be done and the $150 would go towards the repairs if I decided to have service completed through them. I would say within 24 hours of making the appointment for the diagnostic to be performed on my car and actually bringing it into the shop to be serviced. My car was complete and ready to drive again. I am very satisfied with the work that was performed on my vehicle. They advised me that to get into the trans and change that, they should replace the whole transmission for a couple hundred more, otherwise they couldn't guarantee the work. And they charged $150 for this "diagnosis". They wanted thousands of dollars for a new transmission, and I was stuck because I couldn't take the emissions test to renew my plates with a check engine light on. Brought it to Tony's Transmissions, and he replaced the sensor in a few days for a few hundred dollars. I can't remember the exact amount because I paid cash and it was about a year ago, but I just saw his business pop up when I was doing a search and remembered that I should have left him a review back then. He really did great work. Check engine light was off, car passed emissions, and we drove it for another year before selling it a friend for his teenage son. Car is still running strong.

I dropped my car off and a nice guy named Cliff greeted me and said he would give me a call when he determined what was wrong. About an hour or so later Cliff called me and told me he could not determine the cause of the leak so he would have to take the transmission out and look at it which would cost about $675.00. What!? I had him verify that this did NOT include the cost of fixing the transmission, just taking it out. He then stated that there is no way an axle seal could leak like that. Considering I did not say anything about an axle seal I figured he looked at it. I asked if he tried changing the axel seal and Cliff stated that he wouldn't touch it because again he said "There is no way an axle seal could leak like that and that it must be a crack in the transmission or something." I explained to him that it doesn't make sense because the leak started when something hit it on the outside and it drives fine as long as I pour an endless stream of transmission fluid in it. Cliff stood his ground so I knew at this point that this guy was trying to take advantage. I picked up my leaky car and stopped at the transmission garage I spotted on the way out across the street. While I stood there the also nice gentleman from this other garage showed me a hole in the external cover of my transmission. Not inside. The hole was right next to the axle seal where Cliff probably saw it which is why he kept mentioning an axle seal. Do not go to this garage. They were about to charge me $675 for nothing and then who knows what he would have charged to actually fix the problem. There two possibilities here; either this guy is completely inept at his job or he knew what was wrong and was simply trying to screw me over. DO NOT go to this AAMCO unless you have money to burn. By the way my car runs like a champ and I paid the other transmission garage $350.00 to fix it labor and all.
