I went to Mr. Tire in Hampstead, MD for an oil change and a flat tire repair. They overfilled the oil and repaired the flat, but didn't inflate the tire properly. Additionally, they did not reattach the undercarriage shield correctly, causing a loud vibration when I reached 55 mph. I had to take my car to another mechanic to identify the issue, and they found that Mr. Tire had not secured the undercarriage shield properly, leaving it misaligned and missing bolts. After contacting Mr. Tire, they agreed to issue me a refund but never followed through. I followed up multiple times, and each time they claimed it would show up in 5-7 days, but it never did. This was not the first issue I've had with Mr. Tire, but it will definitely be the last. Absolutely horrible service and company. read more

I took my car into Mr Tire to have the brakes done. The manager was very nice to try to squeeze me in before out of town trip . However whoever the mechanic was did not tighten the lug nuts on the front of my car on both front tires . I spent $1,100 to have brakes done all the way around my vehicle I'm expecting know how to tighten the f****** lug nuts . Driving back from a trip I noticed it got increasingly louder and the front end shook more and more so I pulled over and was able to spend the lug nuts with my fingers . Never going back read more

I was going to have 2 tires done there, the guy on the phone told me the tires were $77.00 each, when I get there they tell me the total is $279.00. I asked him why it was so high and he quickly added a coupon to make it $253.00. I still knew that didn't make sense and said I was going to hold off (I'm a woman, so I can tell when I'm being taken advantage of). I made an appointment at NTB in Westminster, they quoted me for $214.00 and it ended up being $198.00. I've never been impressed with Mr. Tire in Hampstead and yesterday confirmed that I will never go there again. I do recommend NTB in Westminster though, they were absolutely wonderful! read more

They are not honest. They just want your money. First, I went in for an oil change as I was due and this location was close drive so I figured why not. They then came out to tell me that I needed something fixed and if I didn't I "very well could breakdown and make things worse just by driving home" so me being nervous went along with it and got it fixed $250 - ugh. NEXT, my husband went for a simple oil change. He was having some noises and asked them to look into it. They told him he needed his shocks and struts done etc and they quoted him over $2,200!!! My husband said absolutely not and took car home to get another look/quote elsewhere. Needless to say they lied and all the car needed was to fix a stabilizer link and realign tires.... I would love to give negative stars to this place. I was going to yelp them when it first happened a few weeks ago but i needed to calm down first. I went in for an oil change and rotate and balance. They told me i needed brake pads . I just put new pads on a month prior. The price they quoted me was 776.00. 100% outrageous. I actually stood outside the store and talked to the mechanics about it. UPDATE: I received a call from Josh at Mr. Tire within an hour after my review. I appreciate the quick response and will give them another chance since I have not had any issues prior to this past visit and they did offer a solution to the problem. Don't go to this Mr. Tire. First, they changed my appointment time without even calling me. I have lost 2 hubcaps since they rotated my tires. They are Toyota hubcaps which are $50 per hubcap. They didn't even top off my windshield washer fluid. Worst experience ever. read more

Filthy, disgusting "waiting room", understaffed, gross bathrooms, incompetent staff, lies, bait and switch tactics, long waits, lousy selection. What more can I say. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. They sold me a brand of tires I never heard of called "black lion". I've had them for over a year and they are still working great. Much less expensive than the minchelins I had before also. read more

Went in for an oil change and tire rotation. While waiting was told I needed a long list of various maintenance totaling over $2,000! Some of these items were previously done elsewhere and not in their computer system but they recommended anyway. Even said it could be a safety issue while driving. The new manager and staff definitely had a motive to sell more services. There was a push to have some work completed at this visit. After leaving the store, I noticed the tires were not rotated. This is not the first time but probably the last. Service at this location has been hit and miss over the years. Location is primary reason I select this store. read more

Worst technicians I have encountered. I got new tires on my car to which I picked it up from them in the evening (I live very close so did not drive very far). However, during my morning commute, the car started shaking very badly so I called them and was told it could not be related to anything they did but was probably some new problem just showing itself now that the car had new tires. I pulled over to find that they had FORGOTTEN to put back all of the lug nuts on the front tire!!!! Complete incompetence. read more

I brought my Honda pilot in yesterday for an oil change and break inspection. Apparently my front breaks were approved and my back breaks needed break pads and rotors replaced. I picked it up today after they worked on it, drove down the road and realized my car is still shaking when I break (which was my main motive to bringing it in and getting the rotors replaced in the first place). So I took it back to ask why this could still be going on, if I needed my front breaks replaced as well. I was completely willing to drop it back off and pay another $550, just to get the shaking resolved. But apparently because I didn't mention the shaking when I dropped it off, they didn't test drive it to see. The man at the front desk had horrible customer service while explaining this to me, "I just don't think you understand" and "lets not over exaggerate the shaking" were direct quotes from him. Talk about being made felt like I was just a stupid woman at an auto shop. Beforehand, he also admitted to me that they never test drove my vehicle before or after their service. So I'm not sure how he would know how my car was driving without testing it? I also don't think it's in the companies best interest to not test drive cars after working on them, but it's not my place to tell them how to do their job. So now I'm out the money, my car still drives the same and I feel totally upset how I was discriminated against and taking advantage of for being a woman. I will never go back to an auto place without my husband, especially Mr. Tire. We will be taking my car elsewhere for the front breaks to be replaced. read more

Nothing but lip-service and a rip-off. I went in to have wheel bearings re-packed (based on the faulty advise an another local garage). Not only did Mr. Tire advise me to replace the bearings because they were so bad I shouldn't take the 400 mile road trip I had planned that night but they pressed the new bearings into the old races. We insisted they give the parts back that they took out. They gave back BRAND NEW PARTS that had never been installed. They had me go to an alternate location to do the job completly over again - I lost an hours work and two hours of drive time just to get a job done that didn't even need to be done in the first place. All the while being told that the issue was being handled at a corporate level. A day later I called corporate - they felt since they did the job over for free that they didn't owe me anything - not even the money I paid for replacing parts that didn't need replaced. He's going to see about getting me money back on the parts, sure, like I'll really ever get a dime back. $600 for a botched job that didn't need done read more
