I WAS a Mr. Sparkle season pass holder. I would have chosen zero stars but Yelp wouldn't let me. In April I was going through the carwash and the door at the exit did not open. The conveyor pushed my vehicle into the door, buckling the hood and causing over $8,000 in damage to my vehicle. The gentleman at the desk took my information and indicated I would be contacted. After attempts to get a contact I finally heard from them. Yes there was a malfunction but it was your fault and we have the video to prove it. Can I see the video? No was the answer. The ownereship hides behind several levels of LLCs to protect their assets. I turned it over to my insurance carrier for them to pursue. I've been using the Wethersfield Mr Sparkle car wash as long as I can remember because I prefer the touch-less option. Tonight I had the worst car wash ever at Mr. sparkle in Wethersfield. The rinse on the car was inadequate as was the dryer. There was a lot of surface water still remaining on the car after the dryer made its pass from front to back and back to front. In fact the water that remained on the surface of my vehicle was still sudsy. It seems that for $16 I should have received a better wash and dry than what I received. I've never had such a poor quality experience at Mr Sparkle. The car always used to look great after going through the touch-less wash. I guess it's time to look for other options if this is going to be the norm. read more

Worst car wash ever. First I tried the automatic wash that was $9 for the hoses to spray soap and water. Didn't clean my car AT ALL. Car seemed dirtier than before I took it in. Left all the dirt on the bottom of the car and tires didn't clean anything. Total waste of money. Then I decided to clean it by hand since that works best but as I'm doing it took 5 minutes to rinse the car which cost $5 on it's own. $5 for 5 min. Wasn't nearly enough time and wayyyy over priced. I have used the Mr Sparkle Car Wash on the Silas Deane in Wethersfield for decades. So, I decided to get a car wash on Feb 11 to take advantage of mid-Winter warmer temps before it gets cold again in Connecticut on Super Bowl Sunday while it's 80 degrees in California! The car wash was mobbed since everyone else had the same idea. Waited 20-30 minutes in line for an automated cloth wash. The attendant was pleasant enough. I asked for a basic wash - no hot wax or add ons - but the attendant didn't share other washes for me to choose from. WHERE is the outdoor sign that lists the washes and their prices? Nowhere. This single, no frills car wash cost $10! That's nearly double what it was before they closed for "construction." Ten dollars for what ... an automated wash that wasn't as good as before the re-build? The wash was not terribly thorough because my side mirrors and parts of the body and bumpers are still dirty! If you access Mr Sparkle's web site, you can see what "package" promos it has if you want to buy car washes by the month, but the site doesn't list any prices for single washes, the names of single washes offered and the services included with each one, the add ons (hot wax, undercarriage wash, etc.) and their prices, or what to do if you are unhappy with its service. All in all, this was a disappointment. The rating above is for quality of the car wash, the failure of the attendant to state types of washes, AND lack of signage both outside the car wash and inside where you pay. I will go to a NON-Mr Sparkle Car Wash the next time. It isn't the only game in the Hartford area. This was an exercise in how NOT to conduct business for success. Mr. Sparkle is within a half mile from my house, so this is my go to car wash. Plenty of stalls, so the waiting time is usually less than 10 minutes (unless it's in the winter, when I've seen the line about 20 cars down the Silas Deane!). I usually opt for the touchless automatic, where there are 4 payment choices- $6, $8, $9, $11. I typically get the $8 wash, which includes drying. Accepts cards and cash- however, beware if you put in a $20 bill and select the $6 option, it WILL give you $14 in dollar coins!!! read more

It's a pretty good place. The automatic wash works well and it's relatively clean. You don't hear a lot of loud music normally. That's all I usually can ask of a car wash. read more

My go to spot for a car wash in my town.. Cloth or touch less.. Or wash your own! Vacuums and options to purchase products from a vending machine. Pretty much has all bases covered. Nothing will take the place of an old fashioned hand and hose wash but this is a good way to get the grime off when you just don't have the time or your vehicle is just nasty from the winter. read more

Brough my bimmer there because they had a touchless wash bay. The most expensive wash was $11, so that's worst case scenario, I believe there were two options below that. They also had a self service and auto wash bay besides the touchless bay. Easy in and out. Can't attest to service some the touchless bay is a machine that takes cash or cards. Got my car washed last week at Mr. Sparkle Car Wash. When I got home and out of the car, I noticed the car wasn't clean. Had no time to go back that day and told my husband that I would stop in and get it redone another day. I went by there today and spoke with a fellow by the name of Andre. He wasn't very nice and asked what day I got it washed. I said it should be on the receipt I was showing him. Andre said their receipts fade and I should have come back that day. Very disappointed when I brought my car in. I paid $30 thinking that I would have everything vacuumed, interior windows washed, and my trunk vacuumed.that was not the case and I won't be back. I drove 40 minutes to get there and was hoping that it would be the show room perfect, and my car wasn't even dirty! read more
