I have been going to captree clam for a long time but since Marcus took over the place is amazing…read more They always had good fresh clams but now they have a large variety of seafood and a fresh seafood counter with a large variety of fresh fish, soft shell crabs, oysters and razor clams and much more. The place is clean no fishy smells. Pedro who waited on me said if you don't see it ask for it and he always has a smile on his face with a friendly and helpful disposition.

I've loved it for over 15 years maybe longer. I've lost count. Buuuut with the new owner Marcus & his friendly knowledgeable staff (Hiiii Pedro!) it has improved immensely! Marcus's passion & dedication to the art of fishing & shellfishery shows. I come from a long line of clammers & eelers. My family does not give a BBQ without clams. We just don't. But Marcus (I can't say his name without hearing Eartha Kitt. If ya know, Ya know. Hahaha) has upped the ante with fresh shellfish & fish options also dry aged items as well. Today I was blessed with Jumbo Soft Shell Crabs! I was lazy & broiled them instead of grilling or frying them. They came out perfect! Called My Dad & he went back for some also. And the new hours!!! I can't say enough about the later hours & being open 7 days! Epic! Thank you CC for providing quality seafood to my local restaurants while also allowing me the same opportunity to get the best Long Island has to offer. 7-6-2025

I came here with a group of people on a Friday late afternoon. Wasn't too busy. I ordered the lobster roll, and friends ordered oysters on the half shell, New England Clam Chowder and the Long Island Chowder (yum), shrimp cocktail, and two 1 1/4 lobsters (MP was $30/lobster cooked). Lobster roll was great, cold and well-seasoned. Oysters on the half shell were fantastic. The fresh lobsters were also enjoyed by others. Chowders are great and the New England and Manhattan are award-winning. Though, I really enjoyed the Long Island Chowder (mix of New England and Manhattan) Food did take some time to come out but that's fine because it is fresh. Enjoy the fresh air and boats going in and out of the inlet. Market had a great array of fresh seafood as well. Great stop on the way to or from the Sayville Fire Island Ferry terminal. They have beer and wine available for purchase. Cash is king and provides a small discount but card is accepted.

I've always loved their New England clam chowder. This visit it was still very good, but it wasn't quite as good as I remembered--the potatoes were a little gummy, and there weren't as many clams as usual. The oysters were excellent--fresh, cold, and delicious. We also ordered the catfish, which used to be marinated, but this time it seemed like the fish was simply cooked and the sauce was poured on top afterward. It just wasn't the same. The biggest surprise of the meal was actually the fries. They were perfectly crispy, well-seasoned, and honestly one of the best parts of our dinner. We also tried the crab cake egg roll special, but unfortunately it wasn't for us. They were very dry, and the dipping sauce had an unusual flavor that almost reminded us of pumpkin. My husband was hoping to order the soft-shell crab sandwich, but they let us know they were completely out of crab that day. Even with a few disappointments, I still really enjoy coming here for fresh seafood and the gorgeous view. There's plenty of free parking, and the outdoor patio is pet friendly, which is always a huge plus for us.
