This nightclub is now known as 'Ridleys' and I would urge anyone going out in Dundalk to avoid it at all costs. I organised a 21st for this venue and spent all week in contact with the managers, told them the numbers, the age groups and flagged how we had 3 19 year olds in our group (out of 26 and most over 24) and were told this would most likely not be a problem, where would we like our area to be reserved and they were looking forward to seeing us etc.
On the night, however, we were immediately refused entry. An ignorant door man (James) point blank refused to listen to how we had been in contact with the managers all week and instead ranted on about how he was 'the boss' and had been working there '23 years and noone gets in unless he says so'. His treatment of us was completely abhorrant and nearly ruined the 21st completely. We left and went to Brubakers instead where we also faced a problem with the three younger members of our group however had the manners to deal with it nicely. We heard later that two of the younger members of the group then got into Ridleys when going up on their own so all that was achieved was nearly ruinning our night and turning 23 people away from their club so that one 19 year old wouldn't get in. Speaking to others in Brubakers we were told the ignorance and random door policy was a problem for alot of people in Dundalk.
Overall avoid this nightclub like the plague. read more
