We had a light lunch at the Squealing Pig in Monaghan on Xmas Eve...we split deep-fried brie with a mixed berry compote and side salad as well as curry parsnip soup with brown bread. We were treated to a couple of complimentary Baby Guinesses, too! The food, staff and ambiance were all great - we come here every time we're in town! read more

Me and the wife went here for a one night break and ventures into Monaghan town for dinner and ended up in the squealing log, went into the bar which was very small and decided to go upstairs, it's was very quiet for a Friday with 2/3 tables, but we ordered and the food was good! Only issue I have is the staff were very young and did seem to care about us or the place even though the venue is really well laid out and decorated! Prob still go back off here again:) read more
