I stopped by Augusta's Tyngsboro for takeout recently. The place has been very busy and have been selling out of food during the grand opening weekend. I was going to order a Large Tuna Sub, but they ran out of large sub rolls and paninis were not yet available. I ordered the 15 Pc Chicken Bites ($16.25 plus tax) which includes choice of 2 dipping sauces. My order was ready fairly quick (under 5 minutes) and I paid for my order at the register near the front doors. I enjoyed the Chicken Bites in the restaurant which offers ample table seating. The Chicken Bites were very tender & hot, coated with a light crispy breading, not too greasy. The Boom Boom sauce and the Marinara sauce were good choices for dipping the chicken bites into. I really enjoyed the Chicken Bites here along my chosen dipping sauces. I will definitely come back here for one of their large subs (tuna or meatball) and the salad bar ($10.99 per pound in 2025).

What we liked most about our experience was the hospitality and kindness all their staff embodied. They had been cooking and/or standing out in the sun all day long and despite that, they delivered food with a smile, answered all questions customers had when placing or collecting their food, and made sure you left happy. I ordered their smashburger but my friend got a side of their loaded fries so I was able to try that too. We waited about 15 minutes for our food, and then tried to find a spot along the beach wall. The burger was very tasty. The ingredients tasted very fresh, the patty was tender, and the maple bacon onion jam gave it a subtle sweet flavor. I wish I would've asked for more of the roasted garlic aioli, both for the burger and the fries. The fries were all really good, and here is where I really had the opportunity to taste the jam on its own. The recipes are a bit different now but the quality of the meats and sides is high (often stellar) across the board. It's a trailer with smokers onsite. A few covered picnic tables allow comfortable eating, and there's even a supply of beach chairs for more relaxed eating. -- St Louis Ribs: A half rack came out a little on the thin side compared to previously, densely bumpy on the surface with a potent rub and a light basting during the smoking process. Lightly crusty on top, very tender underneath, with moderate juiciness and great flavor in every bite. Excellent. -- Ribs with Raspberry Chipotle Sauce: Same St Louis ribs, only glazed with a sweet but complex sauce with a little kick. It complements the spices on the rib surface very well and grows on you even if you're one of those no-sauce types. Excellent again. -- Pulled Pork: About as perfect as you can get. Tons of delicious bark, lots of good color in the meat, a juiciness that doesn't even require sauce, and a pronounced flavor from the spices used before and probably also after smoking. No dryness or steaminess anywhere; just perfect contrast of tender and barky throughout. Only possible improvements would be a little more smoke and the availability of a vinegar sauce, but there's not a single pulled pork in New England that can touch this. An absolute pleasure. Elite. -- Brisket: A thick slab had little ripples of fat, a sturdy outer bark, good flavor, and meat that was mostly closer to very moist and fairly tender than the previous regime's reliable floodgates of juices and extremely tender, but still a top 10% brisket. Hoping for a return to top 1% next time. -- Brisket Bacon (a frequent special): They take slabs of pork belly, prepare them like brisket, smoke them, and slice them thin for delectable finger food. It's not cured, but the strong rub, the wobbly tenderness, and the succulence of the meat are more than enough to more than satisfy. What's almost as remarkable as the deliciousness and texture is the lack of intrusive fat-- you can bite into these slices without any trimming necessary. One of the best barbecue items I've had this year. -- Sides: Coleslaw was a crunchy, vinegary rendition. Mac and cheese was sharp and extra thick-- more of a sludge than liquid. Baked beans were sweet, spicy, tangly, and meaty. Overall, very good to excellent. Water: Free bottled water in an ice chest is a very nice touch. Not a perfect day, but a very, very good one that very few barbecue joints in New England can come close to duplicating. With two wow-worthy items, two excellent ones and one very good one, plus quality sides and service, this gets an unquestioned upgrade to a 5. (The previous regime was a 5 on my last several visits too but I never got around to an update until now.) Looking forward to more great visits before the season ends.

I usually review the Ribs, Brisket, Mac and Cheese, Beans, Cornbread those are my go to's. Fortunately they have them all but unfortunately for me he doesn't have a combo meal for all of them. Had to get a rib platter with 6 ribs and it came with seasoned fries. The other platters came with fries and cole slaw but I wanted the ribs more than a big serving of brisket. And the sides were a la carte and I didn't even notice the corn bread sign so I missed it. Brisket tasted pretty good. Amazing that I actually was offered a choice of cut! Point or Flat, That's SUPER rare, Wanted to try both and he gave me a bit of each. Awesome! Good smoke ring and great rub. Point cut I could feel and taste the marbling but not quiet as much fat as I was expecting, I want to say that was a good thing because I'm not about to say "The more Fat the Better" but I think what I mean is it didn't feel like the marbling did much for the meat IMO. Rub was much more savory type, little bit of black pepper, nothing overpowering. The flavor of the meat was traditional a bit, honestly tasted more like roast beef to me. Perfect Texture though, cooked just right. The fatty parts did melt after a few seconds Ribs came pre cut (Thank you!) but these are the types that I have been calling Backyard style or New England style. The meat itself is so juicy but the bark of the ribs is tough and charred and slathered in sauce. And when you cut them its damn near impossible to make a straight cut, the bark gets in the way and your pushing a plate of bark around trying to get at the meat that falls apart underneath. It doesn't mean anything good or bad, it's just a different style to me. A lot of meat on those bones though. Meat was a teeny bit on the tougher side for me but it wasn't "tough" and could have been a bit more juicy but it wasn't "dry". Definitely the kind of meat you need to pour the sauce all over. Mac and Cheese looked like the traditional store hot bar kind of style. Very orange. Might have had a teeny bit of a red spice sprinkled in. Not a terrible taste but nothing I would need again, just general Velveeta mac and cheese stuff. Beans looked like a secret recipe from a crazy Pit Master. They looked amazing and smelled like award winning. The beans were delicious, maybe a 3 bean but I could only Identify pinto and red. Gravy actually stuck to the beans unlike this canned baked bean liquidy stuff. The base was BBQ sauce though and it tasted amazing for the first few bites. After a little bit though I couldn't help but thinking I was just shoveling down warm BBQ sauce and beans. Still really good though. Fries that came with the Ribs were seasoned with kind of like a sweet Mesquite sprinkle. Not bad fries at all, traditional cut, good taste.

Finally took the plunge today and boy were we disappointed. I ordered a grilled chicken bowl and my wife got 3 grilled chicken tacos. Everything was missing flavor from the rice to the chicken. The chicken was also tough and so were the tortillas used to make the tacos. Everything was assembled in a lazy manner as was the way how the veggies and items were chopped up before being added to the meal. The pictures speak for themselves. I will not be going back and would rather drive a little further for quality Mexican food. Would have preferred Taco Bell right up the road or better off going to California Burrito.
