Getting my dress estimate for my a/c and furnace today!
    Kyle L.

Admittedly I never heard of this company before I've gotten onto one of Facebook algorithms concerning air conditioning replacements. Honestly they had a very good sale at the time, I requested a free estimate so I called and made an appointment. The coordinator left a message on voicemail on my landline. So when calling back the original coordinator was on lunch but the one currently talking to me could handle the appointment. Upon finding the right day and time, it sort of worked out since it was basically the next day. The appointment window was between 8-10am, and Josh showed up around 9 which was nice for fitting into the appointment window. I showed him to my furnace, thermostat and air conditioning unit, upon gathering all the needed information he then started to basically crunch the numbers and explain what was the ideal model and the warranties that go along with their units. Josh was very friendly, knowledgeable and showed empathy when I explained my family situation and work life and he was open enough to share some of his experiences. Anyways, when he was done crunching the numbers and answered some of my questions, Mr. Poppy's was admitted fantastic and was far cheaper than what I was expecting. Since I was taking multiple bids, he did txt me his number to follow up and answer any additional questions if they popped up. Honestly I would have at a drop of a hat gone through them, but I took my normal air conditioning repair company bid albeit mine couldn't price match their excellent estimate, but we did haggle to where I liked their price point. So if I didn't have a normal repair company..Mr. Poppy would have definitely gotten my business and probably the future inspections and repairs. Would recommend them or at least looking into their services and products.

New heat-pump HAVC system and heat-pump water heater.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars. The entire process was absolutely amazing! From the moment I scheduled the estimate, everything was flawless! Adrian came, inspected my house, explained everything clearly, and laid out our options--with absolutely no pressure. I have been shopping for whole-home HVAC systems for quite some time, and Mr. Poppy's price was the best by far! I opted to replace all my ducts and my conventional HVAC system with a new heat-pump system. Since I have solar, I don't want to use any gas if I can help it! I also opted for the heat-pump water heater. (At the last minute, I might add!) The install team was absolutely amazing! Robert, Danny, and Santino were super-nice, professional, and FAST! Their manager, Gilbert, came by to assist with the water heater. (As I mentioned, that was a last-minute addition, and everyone at Mr. Poppy was so accommodating!) Soepa, the owner, even stopped by at the end! This company feels more like family than employees, and they treat their customers like family too! The entire job only took two days. I am blown away by how efficient these guys are! I cannot recommend Mr. Poppy enough!

Two new Daikin heat pumps! 3 ton for downstairs and 2 ton for upstairs. Fremont doesn't allow stacking so they proposed a wall mount!

We had the team at Mr. Poppy replace our 20+ year old 3ton and 2ton ac/heaters to new heatpump systems and replace all of the ducts as well. They completed the work in 5 days and were knowledgeable, professional, and were respectful of our home throughout the whole process. We ended up with two new Daikin heatpump systems and all new ducts and are pleased with their performance thus far. I would definitely consider them again for our other properties as the needs arise.

I cannot recommend Mr. Poppy enough! They were professional, efficient, and cost effective. From the initial meeting with Ben, to the installation with Edwin and Jesus, they were competent and trustworthy. Ben answered all my questions and helped me pick the right air conditioning system for my needs. Within a few days of the initial meeting, Edwin and Jesus came to install the system. They were hard working, quick, and helped advise on the best placement of the system. Overall, I am very pleased with Mr. Poppy's services. Thanks everyone!

Here's the newly installed light fixture. It works!

Finding someone you feel comfortable trusting with your home can be difficult, especially when it comes to electrical work, so I truly appreciated his professionalism and the care he put into the job. One of the things I appreciated most was Ken's willingness to explain the work and answer my questions. Electrical issues aren't always easy for a homeowner to understand, and it makes a big difference when someone takes the time to walk you through what needs to be done. I felt comfortable asking questions and appreciated having a better understanding of the work being performed. Ken showed great attention to detail throughout the job. He took pride in his work and treated my home with respect. It was reassuring to see that he cared about the quality of the finished work and wanted everything done properly. As a homeowner, that kind of care goes a long way toward making you feel confident in the person you've hired. Beyond the work itself, Ken was courteous, approachable, and easy to communicate with. Having someone working in your home can sometimes be stressful, but he made the experience a positive one. I appreciated the effort he put into the job and the way he handled himself from start to finish. Overall, I am very happy with the electrical work Ken completed and grateful for his help. I would gladly have him back for future electrical projects and recommend him to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, professional electrician who takes pride in his work. Thank you, Ken, for taking such good care of my home!

He went through a couple of quick fixes on the phone which could save us some money. I told him we've done that already and we need an electrician to diagnose and fix the problem. He said it'll cost $335 to show up and if he is here over 2hrs, it will be an extra $169/hr. I said okay. Since he is highly rated, I didn't bother calling other electricians for more quotes. I normally get at least 3 then compare. Then he said his appts are 3wks away but has a cancellation for Saturday (today) at 11am. So I said sure and gave him our address and told him to call us when he's here cuz we have to buzz him in the security gate. He said our address is 5mins from his house so no problem. Long story short. He never showed up, no call -nothing! Wasted our time waiting. It is our rental property so I had to drive in before the appt, waited an hour after the appt then left. He may not have wanted to take the job cuz I got the sense that he wasn't enthused and quoted us his price for showing up. Or... he may have forgotten about the appt. Either way, he is the owner and there is no excuse for poor business practice. And for wasting my time I gave him one star since I can't give zero.

I hired Ted because he seemed professional at first: reasonable quote (not the cheapest), clear scope of work, and a stated one-year warranty. I waited about a week for him to come out. The first red flag was timing. He said he'd arrive between 9:30 and 10:30. At 9:50 he texted that he was "wrapping up his morning job" and needed to get fuel, with no ETA. He arrived at 11. When he came in, he put foot covers on his shoes -- and then immediately stepped outside and back into my house, tracking dirt onto my carpet. He didn't have enough material to protect the floors where he'd be working, so I laid down plastic myself. He didn't seem particularly concerned about keeping the space clean. As the work began, things went downhill quickly. Ted started cutting into my walls and ceiling far more than expected. What should have been a relatively contained wiring job turned into multiple drywall openings -- including a long, thin strip cut from the power box toward the bathroom. As I write this, I have a drywall professional repairing all of these cuts. Once I realized how much drywall he was removing, I asked him to stop cutting and to check with me before making any more openings. I also asked how much he would charge to repair the drywall. He responded defensively, saying, "I didn't agree to that -- check your texts," as if I were asking him to fix it for free. He even threatened to leave. I clarified several times that I was simply asking for a quote. He never gave one, and instead just continued working. The long strip he cut was supposedly needed to run a new power wire. Ted initially insisted the wire would need to run under the ceiling joists -- essentially beneath the drywall -- and that I'd "just mud and tape it." I've done enough drywall work myself to know that this is incorrect. I used a flashlight to show him existing wiring running properly over the joists. He eventually conceded that it might be possible. Later, he called me to say he'd need to extend the strip further because he didn't have a straight pole to fish the wire. I paused, thought about it, and realized I owned steel fish tape -- the correct tool for exactly this purpose. When I showed it to him, he glanced at it and said, dismissively, "That's for conduit," and turned away. I explained that fish tape is used for precisely this situation. He repeated, "It's for conduit," several times. When I tried to demonstrate its flexibility, he raised his voice and said, "Look, I don't want to get lectured, okay?" At that point, I had to tell him not to raise his voice at me in my own home. Eventually I suggested he just try the tool, and if he needed help I'd assist. He asked if we could "do it together," which struck me as odd. I declined. Later, I found the wire successfully run over the joists -- using the fish tape. After calling me again about needing yet another cut, I asked him to leave. By that point, the house was extremely dirty. Drywall dust was everywhere, and the carpet was full of debris. Ted insisted on vacuuming before leaving, despite the job being unfinished and the walls and ceiling being full of holes. I told him it was fine and that he could go. He kept insisting. At one point I looked down and noticed he was standing on my carpet without foot covers, after removing the plastic I'd put down. I finally had to tell him to leave very directly. The next day, a licensed electrician came to finish and clean up the work. He installed the remaining fan with zero additional cuts except for the one required to vent it outside -- not the cuts Ted said were necessary. We actually laughed together at how bad the previous work was. He also confirmed that the new circuit Ted had run was unnecessary. After checking the fan's power requirements, he simply removed the cable Ted installed and powered the fan from the existing circuit. I'm now having him come back later this week to fix a mistake Ted made on the fan he did install. One final detail: Ted left for about two and a half hours mid-job, and when he returned, he immediately smoked a cigarette in front of my house. I'm honestly baffled by how this person has positive reviews. I regret hiring him, waiting for him, and not ending the job sooner. Ted started out sounding professional, but that professionalism did not extend to his workmanship, communication, or conduct in my home. Edit: I see this guy replied to my review! I'm disappointed to see this response mischaracterizes both my expectations and my conduct. At no point did I ask for free drywall repair, nor did I yell at or curse at anyone. The core facts remain unchanged: unnecessary drywall cuts were made, the work was left unfinished, and a licensed electrician later confirmed much of the work was unnecessary and corrected it. I've shared my experience so others can make an informed decision.
