Just went to this location and cannot say that I had the best experience. I ordered over the phone and that was easy, and they were very nice. But when I got there in person and tried to use this coupon, they looked at me like I was stupid and the person in charge said they never accept coupons. I showed him the book and the address on the coupon, and even one of the other Employees mentioned that they did see the coupon accepted the other day. The person assisting me Insisted that I was not correct and that they do not accept any coupons whatsoever. Very, very sad to be handled in such a manner. I used to like going here too :( read more

My wife ordered lunch for us to pick up and take home on my break from work. I really wanted to try this sandwich but sadly I am unable to as they only got the mayo part right. The service here is great and the staff is very kind. I quickly walked in to get a sandwich and when I returned home I discovered my sandwich was made completely opposite of what I ordered. Unfortunately I was in a time crunch and had to get home for a meeting so I couldn't return it back to the store. Called the store and right away they were apologetic and provided me with several options to fix my order and ended up delivery a brand new sandwich. Thank you! read more

Expensive sandwiches and there was a small fly/bug in our sandwich so we showed the cashier and they offered to make another one for us but we were already full by then. A refund would've been more appropriate but we left. The service was good and we had no problems with the team but the bug in our sandwich turned us off. Every place deserves a second chance- I'm glad I took a chance again here. Place was nice and clean. Ordered a tri tip sandwich, l must saw YUM! The meat was a little chewy but it had great flavors. We arrived here around 10:30am on a Saturday to get lunch for on the boat. The help behind the counter was very friendly and welcoming. I ordered the BLT and got it on Marble Rye bread (Yippee for them to carry that flavor). Someone commented that the BLT had very little lettuce - but mine was perfect, lots of bacon and everything else in nice balance - looking back I kinda wish I had added pickles - but next time is fine. My hubby got the Santa Fe salad which looked awesome with big hunks of freshly chopped chicken in it. He really enjoyed it - It came with a huge roll. Each order comes with a ("baked daily") chocolate chip cookie which was pretty decent. Better than subway cookies or those Pillsbury Slice and bake cookies. We will be back. read more

Cookies are not as good as they used to be...must be saving money lol They load the meat in and the sourdough bread is awesome with the perfect balance of crusty crunch and softness. We've tried this place several times since moving to Oakley and we continue to be disappointed. Today I ordered a BLT which was so flat it could have doubled as a pancake. 1 slice of tomato, a light sprinkling of lettuce. These are two of the main ingredients. On the other sandwich, I asked for extra lettuce and to add avocado (I paid extra for the avocado). I got what looked like the last scrapings of lettuce from the bottom of the container, not even enough for a half serving of lettuce, and no avocado. This is certainly not the first time something like this has happened. Additionally some of the staff come across as very rude, barking commands at the customer, and other staff simply need to write down your order rather than asking 20 questions about the ingredients "wait did you say wheat roll?" No I said sourdough. "You said no mayo right?" No I said no mustard. Overall not impressed. Better sandwiches can be found elsewhere. read more

My wife and I have eaten here several times but our last visit didn't provide the quality we are used to. I asked for no mayo on my sandwich, which the server did, but then it was drowned yellow mustard - couldn't taste much else on the sandwich. Sourdough bread was really good though. This place used to be great. The staff used to be friendly, food good value for your money. Lately, not so much. Last 3 times I've been there the staff is rude and the sandwiches are lacking. Yesterday, my son and daughter went to get lunch for us (5 sandwiches). A man made 3 and a girl made 2. The 3 from the man were as expected. The girl's not so much. The had 1/2 a Big Easy. There was hardly any meat on there and what was there was dry. Had 1/2 avocado slice, hardly any veggies, and bread was falling apart. My husband had turkey and only 3 slices. They were saying she was rude and acted like they were an inconvenience to her. I wasn't going to say anything, but based upon a post and comments on the Oakley Around the Block FB page this has become the norm there. They're even talking about if come in 30 minutes before closing you're told they're closed and not making any more sandwiches. I love Mr Pickles and the convenience of the location. I just am not sure about going back if the food and service continues to be what it is. I hope something change before enough people stop going and the owner, who is great, loses the place. read more

I made the common mistake that mom's make thinking they have more time than they actually do. I ordered lunch for our daughter and I before hopping in the shower and head to work, and then I realized if I went to go pick it up, I would be running late for work. Unfortunately I didn't choose the delivery option. I chose to pick up the option I called the store and spoke to the manager Cynthia and explained to her the pickle I was in. Cynthia went out of her way to drop off our lunches so I wouldn't be late for work not only did she do that but she didn't charge me a dime I offered to get her Starbucks gift card or something for her compensation and she said no worries! I am still in shock at how great she overexceeded customer service; this is what we need more than the world customer service going above and beyond to make the customers happy. Since moving to California we have been looking for a good sub. We found one at Mr. Pickle. They are relatively good prices for a yummy sandwich. You can also get a salad if you are trying to go low carb. I usually get the "Big Jake" filled with turkey, cheese, avocado, cream cheese and all the fixings. My husband gets the "Tom Turkey" which has turkey, cheese and bacon. You can order your sandwich with everything which includes: lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, pepperoncinis, mayo, mustard, and garlic sauce. With every sandwich you can make it a combo by adding chips and a drink. The best part is with every sandwich you get a free chocolate chip cookie! My husband did order the tri tip sandwich one time and it was not good. The meat had a rainbow tinge to it like it was undercooked. So beware of that! read more

Can I leave a 0 star? I got the CJs pastrami, it's $10.99 and I had 2 slices of meat on it and it didn't even cover the bread! I unfortunately didn't take a pic of both sides but the other looked the exact same. Luckily for them I was miles away before I saw and couldn't turn around. Went in to pick up a phone order, denied cause I forgot my mask! The guy spent more time arguing with me inside than just completing the purchase and letting me take my order. Immediately placed an order to the Brentwood Mr. pickles walked in and grabbed my sandwiches without any issues or a mask! Needless to say, there's probably been quite few orders I and some of my friends might have placed and forgot to pick up‍sorry but once we arrived we didn't have our masks and had to sacrifice those sand which orders to the COVID Gods.... If I could give negative stars I would. Just started eating the sandwiches I paid $13 for and the bread is so hard I could throw it against the wall and put a hole in it. I told him it wasn't 7pm yet( their closing time) and he told me sorry they were closing early because they were understaffed. Last minute venture for lunch and it was surprisingly good! The bread seemed fresh. Veggies were great. Sauces were yummy. Get this, the pickles were awesome. Service was good and as friendly as young adults can be working at a sandwich shop, which let's be real, not terribly friendly, but on the cusp. That's huge for them.
