Had to send my food back twice. Didn't know a quesadilla was so challenging to make. I ask for a cheese quesadilla with pico and jalapeño. When it first came out it was stacked HEAVILY with so much pico i couldn't even see the cheese. My son and I eat here every Wednesday. He loves it. He always gets the same thing. A bean burrito with refried beans. He loves beans I guess. The salsa is pretty standard and good. The service is good, if not sometimes exceptional. The cheese dip is the same white cheese dip every other Mexican place serves and it's just as tasty. I usually get the chicken fajitas taco salad. For $5.75, it's a bargain, with tons of chicken, cheese, refried beans, lettuce etc. I got the nachos one time and I do not recommend them. They are simply tortilla chips with cheese dip on them and nothing else. I've also gotten the sopes with chile colorado and it was fantastic. Definitely ask for some limes so you can squeeze it on top. The chile colorado, which is pork strips in a red spicy sauce, were plentiful and tender. I highly recommend it. read more

After searching for where to go get tacos, I decided on going here because it was closest to my location. I walked in with my toddler, stood at the door waiting to be seated while the hostess was having a personal conversation on her phone..Meanwhile there is a table of four older people and one of the women stood up to show she was ready to order. She had to go knock on the kitchen door and stick her head in to get someone to assist her. The hostess who was supposed to be tending to them, and me, sighed and said 'omg one second' to the woman who was looking to have their order taken.. Anyway, I turned around and walked out. If eating Mexican food in Maumelle, Mr. Pancho offers the best selection and taste! They always offer happy hour and daily specials. I tend to get chicken fajitas, but recently I've tried their dish that is a potato covered in fajita chicken or steak, cheese dip, and all of the standard toppings such as lettuce, guac, sour cream, etc. It's filling and flavorful. Like any town with a population of more than four-thousand, Maumelle has more than two restaurants that serve Mexican food. On a whim, I tried Mr. Pancho last weekend to find that it was not easily compared to other Mexican restaurants across the country with their cookie-cutter flavor profiles. While you'll find all of the normal fare on the menus (burritos, nachos, chimichangas and the like) you'll also find that the flavor is a bit better here at Mr. Pancho. I'm done with this place. Their food is definitely just so-so, and I have not experienced the "wonderful service and friendliness" that some have mentioned on here. I will say that in the past that has been true, but I think they must have changed management because it is very different than it was a year or two ago. Tonight, as we entered there was a board with the day's specials written on it: Enchiladas Combo $7.25 and Dinner Grande $9.50. We ordered with one of our choices being the Dinner Grande and although it was okay, it was not anything special - just a lot of bland food. The waitress seemed "put out" when we asked for a refill on our chips, and that's all we got - no more salsa to go with it - but the food arrived about that time and we didn't want to bother her. We ate our rather tasteless meal and got our check. I noticed that we had been charged the regular price for the Dinner Grande and I politely told the waitress. She stared at me for a minute and then she started talking to the cashier in Spanish. He then proceeded to tell me that the Dinner Grande was not on special, just the Enchiladas Combo. I told him it was posted on the board right outside but he was not going to budge or even check the board. Definitely not good customer service! It was only a $1.50 difference in price and there was another person waiting in line to pay. I was not going to hold up the line to squabble over $1.50, so I paid the check and left. On my way out I took a picture with my phone of the specials board as verification, and there it was, plain as day - Dinner Grande $9.50. But, the poor service, disrespect, sub-par food and a waitress who acted as though all her customers were a bother kind of sealed the deal here. There are way too many choices in other restaurants now with those who actually want and work for your business for me to go back to Mr. Pancho. It is a shame as I have been a customer for 5+ years. If this was an isolated incident it would not be so bad, but similar situations have occurred the last several times we have eaten there, not just to me, but I have witnessed a few customers who have become angry over related events of their own. The fact that there were numerous empty tables around 7:30 on a Saturday night should be a big hint to the restaurant too. read more
