We enjoyed our meal here at Mr Pampas. I especially enjoyed 3 different ceviche type salads and Caesar (kept full and fresh) from the salad bar. The meat selection was superb, only saw the shrimp once though towards end of meal, "squids" tough, but the beef selections were very good. Great opportunity to try a Brazilian type steakhouse as the cost was half what is charged at similar venues where I live in AZ. Couple things worth mentioning which struck me odd was that the waiter was quick to keep our table clean, good, but a little over halfway through the meal removed both our steak knives and wonderful table sauces never to return. Hint, hint. A carver approached my wife and asked her if she would like grilled pineapple, of course she would. I told her it was extra,(UTUBE) which was fine but staff never mentioned it until she asked them. By the time they answered her they had served and lit a mountain of pineapple w brandy. It's been over a year since I've been to Guadalajara for business. Every time, after a long week of work, we like to visit Mr. Pampas on the last night in Guad. This place is for the people who like meats and not afraid to try new thing. They have over 12 skewers of meat that I could count and more. They're all marinated deliciously and perfectly cooked. The appetizers and salad buffet is a meal in itself, many people would fill their stomach before the main course. The price is amazing reasonable. Everything here is high quality, the beef and seafood Carpaccio are so good, tender and well seasoned in olive oil. So many types of tasty salad, actually vegetarians would find the buffet wonderful. The Breaded Deep Fried Eggplant is one my favorite besides Chinese Eggplant in black bean sauce. The service is fast and efficient, the waiters get drinks orders quickly and the meat servers are fast - as long as you leave the green sign on the edge of your table, they would come in a few minutes with different kinds of meat and there are many. I just asked for very little cuts because I want to try everything and not wasting food. The place is packed at about 8PM, the valet parking is hectic but manageable by experience drivers. If you're ever in Guadalajara for any reasons, you must try this place - only if your a meat lover. read more

Two words. Meat sweats. Wow! The meat was wonderful! I think my favorite cut was the filet mignon. The octopus was pretty good too. Very nice Brazilian steakhouse. Casual, great for families, kids play area. I was here on business and came here with coworkers and had a great time. The salad/cheese (plus more) bar was insane! Soooo much food. Same with the desert bar. Can you say sugar coma? Also, even though the desert bar is included, I highly recommend paying extra for the flan. It was wonderful. Overall great experience. Located near the westin, this is an all you can eat brazilian grill. The salad buffet had many options including shrimp, rice pudding, and fruit. They offered a variety of meats and really loaded your plate up. The meat was good not great. It tended to be lightly seasoned. It was a fun experience and i had a couple tequila shots and they place music fairly loud. I have 10 days so 1 meal here is ok. If you have a short stay, maybe try something different unless you want quantity. Price was reasonable, 310 for hombre and 295 for mujeres. read more

It was my last night here in Gudalajara and my friends wanted to bring me out to this Brazilian steakhouse. Ambiance: it's a cozy casual setting. They have an outdoor patio and a bar inside with a large selection of drinks. Foods: they have a buffet with hot and cold food. Particularly, I enjoyed eating the cured meets they had on the cold line. On the hot side, they have beans, rice, tortillas and other varieties of hot food. They had a large selection of cooked meats that servers were bringing around. I loved the jumbo shrimps that they had on the skewer and the tripas. If you fancy language, they had that as well. Lots of fun for large groups( there were 8 of us) and pretty good cuts of meat. Some were much better than others so pace yourself at first and try a few different ones until you find the one that fits your tastes. The tomahawk and the leg of lamb were my favorites and I had seconds( maybe thirds) of each. The meat servers were quick to appear as soon as we set our buttons to green ( almost too quick and seemed to swarm a bit) but a quick turn to red and they would leave you to enjoy your meal. The salad bar is fairly extensive and tasty as well. At 6:30 in a Friday the place was packed and it was a pretty lively crowd but that was part of the package and it did not seem intrusively noisy. There seemed to be lots of " posadas" or at least large groups celebrating. We will definitely be back. read more

This is one "happenin' place"!!! There were no empty tables, and the ambiance was perfect for a night out w/friends. Absolutely outstanding salad/food bar - can't believe they can cram so many good things in it. Many different Soups, salsas, fish, seafood, fruits, cheeses, salads, etc. Just about everything I had was excellent. They are generous with the meats too - we had to flip our card off a couple times because we couldn't keep up w/the servers. Most of the meats were great, although I had a few that were pretty mediocre... and the "filet" definitely wasn't what you would get at a good steakhouse. The "top sirloin" was like a good prime rib - yummy. I couldn't believe how much great food we got... and it ended up costing about 25.00 each including tip!! Holy smokes this would have been 80 bucks in Chicago and wouldn't have had the mexican flair w/all the awesome salsas etc. Bottom line, if you don't leave full, you were trying really hard not to. I paid them and the waiter that served us never gave me the right change she kept 500$ for her when i told them that she didnt gave me the right change she made up an excuse we talked to the manager and he even cover for her. I even show the manager the receipt where it show how much i paid and how much i was supposed to get back and all the manager said it was the cashier mistake that put a wrong amount. They show us their videos where she suposely takes the money to the cashier but cant even see anything clear at all.( we waited about 40min for him to "investigate" more about it and he only came back after 40 min to just show us a 5 second video.)These people are liars.even the waiter looked like she wanted to laugh when the manager told us they couldnt give us the rest of our money back because she knew she got away with it and he covered for us even tho he said before he was going to give us back our money. read more

I would say that if you want to eat a Mexican rendition of Brazilian style steak, you should go here. However, this is Guadalajara, when if Guadalajara, I would not recommend eating Brazilian. Eat tacos, Pozole, Tortas ahogadas...basically, eat Guadalajaran fare. This place is good if you are tired of the Guadalajaran gastronomy. I've eaten here several times, and I feel,that there are Brazilian steakhouses that are much better. However on my way out of town, I wanted to treat my son, and with the variety I figured I couldn't go wrong. First, I noticed it was as high hopping as the last time I visited. The hostess measured my son on a wall tape measure and said they would have to charge him adult because of his height. Ummm he is five. Tall for his age, but only five. I repeatedly told the he was not going to eat much. He usually just goes for the salad bar and *maybe* a cut of meat. And that's exactly what he did. He did not eat an adult portion. And about the meat, I noticed thiamine that they repeatedly brought the low end meats out over and over (makes sense) but four waiters one after another offering the blood sausage was a bit old. As we sat waiting for the picaña or some other cut, the waiter came by and flipped our card to "stop." I gently explained we were waiting for an actual cut of beef, And the end topper of the night was the bill,and the subsequent argument as to why a five year old was charged as an adult. After much needed discussion about his age and food consumption, they decided the hostess had made a mistake and not out a child bracelet on him. I also,have to wonder if there was some assumption the "gringos" didn't speak Spanish,mad lots of money, and wouldn't notice the almost $25 dollar kids meal. I don't think I'll return. As I said, there are better places for Brazilian steak where the meat is better and the scamming is less obvious, i,guess. read more

The meat here is to die for!!! Go with a group, its super fun! I never trust buffets, but I trust this one. The different types of meat or cuts are SOOO GOOD and fun to try. The price is per person and there are ladies nights where we are cheaper! You eat all you want, and flip a sign to tell the waiters to keep it coming, or stop at let you enjoy what you've chosen. The cocktails are fabulous as well. The environment here is really stellar, and the Brazilian style meats are very good quality and delicious. Go take your parents here or go for a birthday. I see there is a lot of great reviews of this place but maybe its because I am not a fan of brazilian buffets, for me was not a great experience, and absolutely not the #1 restaurant in Guadalajara. The salad bar is really fresh and offers many different options so for me that was the good part of the food but the rest was just ok and too much food. People leave a lot of food in their plates and I dont like to see all that waste of food.The meats are just ok, there are many great meat restaurants in the city and even though its a fixed price, drinks and deserts are not included so you end up paying same as in other nice restaurats. It has the feeling of a chain restaurant (which I am not fan either) but on the bright side the service is great, waiters come to your table all the time. So I guess is not my type of restaurant at all, I will not go back but I understand that many people can like the concept ( if you like to eat a lot!). read more
