The pineapple with liquor and cinnamon a real treat severed on fire.

Wonderful dinner for our last night in Guadalajara!! Many outstanding dishes to choose from buffet style of a wide selection of salads, hot dishes, and desserts. The end they have a pineapple in a liquor with cinnamon which does cost extra.

Beef Carpaccio is so tender and well marinated - other samples of cut meats are delicious

It's been over a year since I've been to Guadalajara for business. Every time, after a long week of work, we like to visit Mr. Pampas on the last night in Guad. This place is for the people who like meats and not afraid to try new thing. They have over 12 skewers of meat that I could count and more. They're all marinated deliciously and perfectly cooked. The appetizers and salad buffet is a meal in itself, many people would fill their stomach before the main course. The price is amazing reasonable. Everything here is high quality, the beef and seafood Carpaccio are so good, tender and well seasoned in olive oil. So many types of tasty salad, actually vegetarians would find the buffet wonderful. The Breaded Deep Fried Eggplant is one my favorite besides Chinese Eggplant in black bean sauce. The service is fast and efficient, the waiters get drinks orders quickly and the meat servers are fast - as long as you leave the green sign on the edge of your table, they would come in a few minutes with different kinds of meat and there are many. I just asked for very little cuts because I want to try everything and not wasting food. The place is packed at about 8PM, the valet parking is hectic but manageable by experience drivers. If you're ever in Guadalajara for any reasons, you must try this place - only if your a meat lover.

Two words. Meat sweats. Wow! The meat was wonderful! I think my favorite cut was the filet mignon. The octopus was pretty good too. Very nice Brazilian steakhouse. Casual, great for families, kids play area. I was here on business and came here with coworkers and had a great time. The salad/cheese (plus more) bar was insane! Soooo much food. Same with the desert bar. Can you say sugar coma? Also, even though the desert bar is included, I highly recommend paying extra for the flan. It was wonderful. Overall great experience. You won't be disappointed.

It was my last night here in Gudalajara and my friends wanted to bring me out to this Brazilian steakhouse. Ambiance: it's a cozy casual setting. They have an outdoor patio and a bar inside with a large selection of drinks. Foods: they have a buffet with hot and cold food. Particularly, I enjoyed eating the cured meets they had on the cold line. On the hot side, they have beans, rice, tortillas and other varieties of hot food. They had a large selection of cooked meats that servers were bringing around. I loved the jumbo shrimps that they had on the skewer and the tripas. If you fancy language, they had that as well. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my experience there and hopefully in the future I can come back and have another great time at Mr. Pampas! Happy eating!

Our server (the old man in suspenders) was RUDE and ignored us, hardly checked in and had just awful demeanor towards our party. He made rude, pushy comments to my husband, who doesn't speak Spanish, multiple times. Service was unbearably slow and we had to ask for our check multiple times. The gauchos come to your table even when your sign is on red. I had a gaucho slice "roast beef" on my plate after clearly telling him "No." One gaucho sliced meat just inches from my 1 year olds face and we had to move her across the table to stop it from happening again. Another gaucho told us a barbecue meat was beef when it was as clearly pork after cutting into it. There's a handful of good ones but overall they need more training and practice. On the table is only one tong which makes it more difficult in grabbing meat efficiently The fillet mignon is most definitely not fillet mignon and is a dry, chewy and over seasoned knockoff. The gaucho with picanha never stopped at our table. The salad bar isn't so bad. There's some good options but also a serving tray full of crunchy red rice past its prime. The most disgusting part of my experience was toward the end. Our table ordered two cappuccinos and one Americano. The cappuccinos were vile. They were bitter, sour and had a nasty almost salt like taste. After informing the staff on the undrinkable state of the cappuccinos they checked the cream date and informed us that it had a bad seal and was spoiled. Their kids playground is in rough shape. Here's the shortlist of things I enjoyed: -arroz con leche from desert bar -cookie from desert bar -pasta from chaffing dish -baby changing station was clean but there's only one in the women's restroom and not the men's.

Que horrible! I am a huge meat-lover and was so excited to go to this place, but we were…read moreincreasingly disappointed at every turn. First off, our waiter went from barely attentive when we first arrived to completely ignoring us after he delivered our iced teas and then throughout our entire meal; instead, his full attention was on a wrestling match being shown on all of the TVs, and he was eventually joined by another waiter (see pic #1). Coincidentally, he happened to notice the movement of me taking this picture, and AT THAT TIME decided to come "check on" us. By then, we had finished our various meats and had moved on to dessert -- a little too little too late. Now to address the eating experience... First of all, the waiter seemed puzzled when I asked if they had té helado; his reply was, "Te? Si, tenemos te." I asked, "Te helado?" and he said, "Si." Well, he brought us tall glasses that each had a "te negro" bag floating in light-colored liquid; it tasted slightly sweet and fizzy, as if maybe they had put a tea bag into a glass of Sprite. Next, we visited the salad bar, which provided NO PLATES, so we grabbed small plates from the dessert bar. Compared to the salad bar at the numerous other Brazilian churrascarías we've been to in the US (plus Mr. Pampas in Guad), this was very limited and had only a very few items we even cared to try. Even more disappointing, there were NO BLACK BEANS OR RICE, which are staples in every other churrascaría. Once we sat down to eat our meager salad bar selections, the meats began coming. It was then that we noticed there wasn't a red/green indicator at the table (or anyone's table) to let them know when you wanted them to bring meat and when you wanted a break. Also missing from the tables were tongs for grabbing the meats cut at your table, which meant sometimes pieces of meat flopped onto the table instead of your plate. As I stated at the start, I really enjoy good cuts of seasoned meat; here, all the meat I tried was dry and lacked seasoning, except for one piece that was full of fat and one cut that was quite tasty. Also, we were never given a list of meats available, and we only saw about 10 different meats brought to our table. At one point, the meat-server (not to be confused with the waiter, who was engrossed in the wrestling match this entire time) asked if there was anything else we would like him to bring. I asked if they had cordero (lamb), and he looked at me as if he had no idea what that was. Oh yeah, you know those delicious cheese-bread balls that all churrascarías serve? Well, we weren't brought or offered any, and there weren't any on the salad bar. About halfway through our meat course, I showed a picture of some of them (a picture another Yelper had posted in a review of another Fogón do Brasil in Guad) to one of the meat-servers and asked where I could get some of them. He said he'd tell someone to get us some. So, we continued with the meats, as they continued coming fairly rapidly. Finally, we decided we were done with the meats, but we bided our time waiting for those cheese-bread balls. Finally, I went and got a sampling of desserts, but still determined to get that cheese-bread before eating the desserts. It was after I got my dessert plate that I took the picture of our waiter and another one watching the TV, which led to the waiter coming over to us for the first time since delivering the weird iced tea. I showed him the photo of cheese-bread balls and asked him, "Donde están estos? (Where are these?)" He replied, "Lo tenemos (we have them)." I asked, "Porqué NOSOTROS no tenemos? (Why don't WE have them?)" So, he went off and within two minutes or less brought us some. (See pic #2: Cheese-bread balls with dessert.) Well, we left there sorely disappointed. However, instead of leaving a single peso for the waiter, we gave our propina to the young man who served most of our meat. I also let the host know our waiter's service was horrible. Now I'm letting all of you know!

Great food, great waiter. Definitely on my list of top places to eat when in Guadalajara.read more

Our group was in need of some serious food and, upon the recommendation of one in our party, we…read moretraveled to this amazing spot and had arguably one of the best meals of our entire trip! Once you walk in, you're warmly greeted by the staff and the ambiance. The decor was strange with quirky wallpaper and art but somehow worked. As we made our way to the bigger tables in the back, we came across an atrium like dining area with tons of plants and open air near the grill. Not only is it beautiful, but it helps to make sure you won't walk out after dinner smelling like a barbecue! Much appreciated! We were handed a couple different menus - one for drinks and one for food (neither of which were enough for each of us to have one, so we shared). I will say the menu was a bit confusing since there are so many pages, each with only a few items on it. Also, we didn't know much, if anything, about the different Argentinian steak specialities which I think contributed to our confusion. As our orders finally started to arrive we realized that these portions are MASSIVE. None of our selections notated that they came with anything, but most of our came with a salad (also huge) and mine ended up coming with some homemade potato chips. Yum! I ordered the Bifo de Lomo which is a tenderloin (think filet mignon) and it was slap your mama good! It came sizzling in butter... need I say more? It comes a little rare and you can't change the temperature (I asked for medium rare, but they said it comes the way it comes). No biggie though, I just cut the steak up as soon as I get it and laid the slices on the sizzling plate. It cooked perfectly! Since we weren't sure if any of the dishes came with sides, my husband and I split the potato puree (otherwise known as mashed potatoes). They were also really delicious! We ended up having waaaaay too much food but the experience was amazing and my meal stands as one of the best steaks I've ever had. Definitely, DEFINITELY check this spot out when you are in Guadalajara!
