A plumber was able to identify the issue, a clog in a T junction heading to a sump pump..and he removed the clog. So now needed to remediate the contaminated area. I contacted several companies...some wanted $150 just to complete an assessment...some wanted a contract signed without even completing a site assessment. APL was different. Alex advised he was actually nearby on another job and could be on site in 15 minutes. And he was. Alex was very professional and communicated all that was going on and what needed to be done. Unfortunately, the insurance company pushed for a different vendor for the repair phase -- one that took over three and a half weeks just to provide a quote. Based on our earlier experience, we insisted on using Platinum instead, and it was absolutely the right decision. Once awarded the project, Caitlin, the lead, was incredible -- organizing trades, movers, and vendors with a detailed project plan that kept everything on track. Remarkably, Platinum finished the entire restoration faster than the other vendor took just to submit a quote. The workmanship, communication, and genuine care throughout the process were outstanding. My parents were thrilled with the results. If I hadn't been on-site regularly, they would have left a ton of rotten plywood sub-floor in place, along with a number of other misses I had to point out to them. They promised to do a 2nd coat of Killz to encapsulate some potential mold after a lousy 1st application (which they agreed was lousy) & didn't do it. They say they'll call me & don't call. They say they'll respond to emails & don't respond. It's been truly astounding, just incredible to have such astonishingly poor communications. I'm floored. Grateful that I knew to check in on them regularly, grateful that they'll be done soon and I'll never have to deal with them again.

Their workers have no regard for other people. The solar panel installation was halted. I contacted several roofing companies to get assessments on the issue and obtain estimates. It turns out one side of the roof did not have adequate venting and moisture was being absorbed by the plywood. I met with several roofing company representatives and each provided their suggested way to address the issue...and the estimated costs were all over the map. But when I met with the Absolute Roof Solutions sales representative...I knew I had found the right company. They explained what the issue was, how they would address it and the next steps. They followed with a quote and then a follow up conversation with the Project Manager. They picked a date that was to be rain free. The crew showed up on time and they went about their work. Taking 1/2 a roof is not an easy task but they managed to get it done in the one day...and to get the site all cleaned after, including ensuring all debris was removed from both neighbours yards. On the spot, Brian was able to confirm some big problems with the composition of my unit's air, and recommend some ways of improving it (e.g. lowering humidity + keeping bathroom fan running).
