I'd give a minus star if I could... went to Mr. Lube just down the street from me at 1311 Henderson Hwy a couple of weeks ago for a simple oil change. They asked me what kind of oil I wanted and told just the regular oil. When they gave me the bill and got home, a few minutes later... instead of charging me for regular oil, they put in, can't prove it, synthetic oil for a lot more money. I went online to their website and sent a very crude feedback comment and never heard back from them. I will never ever deal with Mr. Lube again. Mr. Lube are rip off artists, don't deal with them. I'll be going back to Super Lube like I've done before and never had a problem with them. read more

this place is horrible. takes way to long and takes advantage of you when ever possible. They said I need my transmission fluid changed because it was "dirty" and that it usually occurs at 40,000km, well my car is only at 26,000 so they already were being dishonest saying I needed it changed but I don't know much about cars and to top it all off when I mentioned the price of the whole service of the oil change which is why I was there they said well I showed you the prices for everything which they lied again because they didn't even tell me the price of the standard oil change to begin with. all of that aside it took almost an hour and they didn't even do the oil change properly, they only filled the oil half way after along with not checking the rest of the fluids like they state they do with a standard oil change. over all service was completely horrible read more

I was completely taken advantage of and the service was absolutely terrible! I wrote an email to the local shop I went to on St. James in Winnipeg and to the head office and received no response. This was my email: I was advised that we needed new transmission fluid, which I knew coming in, but we were not given any options or information on this, they just went ahead in put it in and let us know after. The screen I was shown by your technician showed me the price would be around $120, but I was charged $249 for this. I was also advised that I would need new tired immediately and a wheel alignment as the tread on my tires (which are only 3 years old) were "completely worn out on the inside". After a second opinion from another company, I was advised that our tires are in great shape and a wheel alignment is not necessary. This is frustrating. I was also told an air filter was needed, so I agreed. The price for a new filter seemed quite high, but I didn't know, so I agreed. My husband pulled it out to inspect it at home after and we found it was completely damaged on one side, you can see right through it. Also it was not properly sealed. The seal around the filter was completely off the track and it didn't sit in place properly. He also found TOOLS left under the hood when I returned home. Such sloppy work. I'm extremely disappointed as I feel that I was completely mislead and I was taken advantage of. We now need to replace the filter that we JUST purchased from you and had to spend additional funds getting a second opinion about our tires that are in perfect condition. Please do your research before going to this place!! read more

!!Mr Lube will rob you if they think they can!!! $160.00 for a standard oil change and air filter on a 2013 Honda Civic!! While changing my oil, they asked if I wanted a new air filter. I asked how much it would cost, and they said $50.00. I said, that sounds very expensive, aren't they normally around 25-30$? They said no. I said that I'll be okay for now. Later, two coworkers are talking, saying give her $10.00 off because she should have a new air filter, it will save her money! I insist that the price seems higher than usual, and they say it is not. So okay, I get a new filter, now only for $40.00. The oil change is done and the air filter gets put in. No checking of my lights or anything else that normally is done. Total comes to $160.00!! I was charged $100.00 for my oil change which is far beyond what I typically pay. I called another place to compare prices immediately after, and the person laughed and said that I definitely got taken advantage of. I called Mr. Lube, they did nothing. I will not be going back to Mr. Lube ever again. read more

Went to get my oil change for my car on Nairn. Was quoted over $100 because my car needs synthetic ... told them the dealership charges $70 he laughed and said there is no way for that charge for synthetic low and behold went to my dealership for my $70 SYNTHETIC oil change. This location seems to be bad for overcharging and scamming they even tried to tell me my MPI winter tires (on my SUV)needed to be changed and they can set me up with a plan....weeeeird they were 3 months old.... I like the Mcphillips location IF anything but no more Mr.Lube the price is NOT comparable and they reeeeaalllly think woman don't know anything about their vehicles and try to do their BEST upselling and I'm not the only one ..... Good luck with that we know more than you think ;) PS Im not from the US as it states not sure why its says that lol read more

The last three times I've been to the St. James location, the wait times were greater than 1 1/2 hrs. This last visit (over 2 hours to get in) the car in front of me had problems, and I understand this happens. Is there no mechanism to give people an ETA? Is there no protocol to record who is there first and get people in order (three cars arriving after me were in before me)? Have left there 3 times with negative vibes. I'll look elsewhere and suggest you might too. read more

Listen, I don't usually get so WORKED UP about an oil change, but OH MYYYYY GOSSHHH this place is the BEEES KNEES. I'm serious, round up dem bees, gaze at dem knees, and take a knee in front of the Mr. Lube over on Saint Jame Street. Clear across town? Just hit the road and get the heck over here, it's well worth it. Ok, now that I've gushed enough, let me tell you WHY this place is LITERALLY THE ONLY PLACE you should ever get your auto tinkered with. 1. They are literally the nicest people alive, always smiling, asking about your day, lingering on that handshake in a way that suggests "hey, you're #1, truly, let me bask upon your glory" 2. COFFEE omg seriously, coffee. There seems to be no limit on the delightful sweet sweet brown nectar, although I myself cut myself off at 3. I don't know what kind of UNICORN tears they use to brew this magical beast but it is the raddest cuppa hot joe I've ever encountered in my 38 trips around this here sun. 3. The papers, THE PAPERS! you wanna know whats up on this crazy planet of ours? FRET NOT they have every newspaper you could possibly name! Except the Calgary Sun, I'm not sure why they don't have that FINE source of unbiased news coverage, but it's really the only flaw I can find. 4. They are FLUID EXPERTS not even kidding, the staff here use all of their finely honed 5 senses to taste, touch, smell and listen to your dear rustbucket's fluids and can diagnose even the tiniest fluid drippity drop. So. If that aint enough reasons to drop literally everything and get your fluids poked and prodded than you are an IRRESPONSIBLE CAR OWNER and you should push your car off a cliff this morning. nuff said. read more

My not knowing about vehicles was thrown away to the garbage once I brought my vehicle to mr lube @st James. Not only were they very oriented, and professional, I was spoken to with respect. Ben and Dekota were Ahhhmazing!!! read more

There are many options for an oil change while you wait. They all offer the same extras like a newspaper or a cup of coffee. They all check the same fluid levels and they all offer the same additional services. I always end up choosing Mr. Lube because they seem to have the most locations and there always seems to be one in the neighbourhood where I'm running errands when I plan to get my oil changed. This isn't exactly a ringing endorsement but if having the company that changes your oil keep track of your maintenance record so they can suggest additional services on a timely basis then Mr Lube is a good choice. They're everywhere and you don't have to go out of your way to find one. read more

This place totally took advantage of my wife and overcharged her when she bought a new set of tires for her compact car. She was charged $230/tire, just for the tires (price did not include installation, balancing, mounting, etc, that was extra). I found the same tires on line for less than $80 per tire, delivery included. When I complained to the business and the BBB they called me and said they would resolve the case. They told the BBB that they would be talking to me to resolve to pricing difference. I have not heard from them since. Avoid this place! They are liars and completely unscrupulous. read more
