Leila-McPhillips Triangle

After a glowing recommendation from a LONG time customer of Midas, we booked in for an oil change…read moreduring our stay in Winnipeg. Service was fast, friendly, and professional. We got a standard oil change for $40, and waited about 25 minutes. There were some toys and magazines in the waiting room, and it's within walking distance to a strip mall with a superstore and some smaller stores if you'd rather run an errand while you wait.

A wheel alignment is all I needed to be done. I drop it off and when I came back to pick it up, front desk (James) enumerated $800+ worth of other repairs - or I can just opt for $300+ that I apparently need to get the wheel aligned. I declined so nothing was done, wasted few hours and was charged $80+ for it. Now, they can argue with all their technical terms that those things were required to get the work I asked to be done. I'm not car or mechanic savvy, but I know that we had the most pressing issues fixed so that the vehicle can be used, and the wheel alignment was to correct the pull as a result of that recent repair. The $800 invoice included, bulb color replacement, wiper blades, tie rod (that was just replaced), among others. When I was told I needed to replace the item I just got repaired, I realized I'm being scammed. They even sent a link to the "diagnosis" which was very inconsistent with the invoice I have- this one talked about tires being a problem now but the wipers and lights are fine. It's getting hard nowadays to find an honest shop, that will not upsell you or rip you off and there are still some out there, but NOT this one. They did not deserve the fees I paid.
