My experience at the Mr. Lube location at 3767 Strandherd Drive, Nepean for my car Toyota Camry Se 2018 Before visiting the store, I called and specifically asked for the price of an off-rim tire change for my 2018 Toyota Camry with 18-inch tires. I was quoted a price of $134.99 over the phone. Based on that information, I chose to visit location. Upon arrival, I waited approximately 30 minutes before my vehicle was brought into the service bay. The technicians then lifted my vehicle, removed all four tires, and only afterward informed me that the actual cost would be approximately $180. I questioned why the price had changed and explained that I had been quoted $134.99 over the phone. I also asked why nobody informed me of the higher price before my vehicle was lifted and the tires were removed. At that point, I declined the service and requested that my original tires be reinstalled so I could have the work completed elsewhere. I was then told that I would be responsible for bay and lift charges. I responded that if I was expected to pay for the time spent due to a pricing discrepancy that was not my fault, then my own time had also been wasted. Shortly afterward, the Manager, Duncan, came out and stated that they would reinstall my tires and that my vehicle would be blacklisted from that location. I found this response extremely unprofessional and inappropriate. My concern is not primarily about the difference in price. In fact, I had other options available for approximately $100 but chose Mr. Lube because it was close to my home and I preferred the convenience. The issue is the lack of transparency, poor communication, and the disrespectful manner in which I was treated when I exercised my right as a customer to decline a service after being presented with a different price than the one originally quoted. Your vehicle is a sedan and the price for a full installation on a car is usually $139.99 for the four tires. However, when a vehicle has a low profile tire with a sidewall of 45 or less (your tire size is 235/45/R18), we do charge $179.99 for four tires. This was clearly not asked properly over the phone to determine an accurate pricing and then the price was different from when you entered and the technicians created the invoice. This is where the Manager was trying to meet somewhere in the middle and took $20 off the correct pricing but didn't meet the expectations you had with the pricing given over the phone, that drove you in for our service. I will be reviewing this with the manager and the team answering phone calls. I appreciate you for bringing this to my attention, allowing us a chance to correct this going forward and potentially retaining your business. My concern was never about receiving a $20 discount, nor was it primarily about the pricing difference. My concern is about the conduct of your staff and the management practices at this location. If the service price was going to be $180 instead of the $134.99 that was quoted to me over the phone, I should have been informed before my vehicle was pulled into the bay, lifted, and my tires were removed. At that point, I was effectively put in a position where I had little choice but to proceed or deal with the inconvenience of having everything reassembled. What I found even more concerning was the response from Manager Duncan when I chose not to proceed with the service. Rather than addressing the issue professionally, I was told that my vehicle would be blacklisted from the location. That statement was unnecessary, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable for a customer who was simply exercising his right to decline a service after a price change. I understand that no further action may be taken regarding Manager Duncan's conduct. However, please understand that this situation is not about compensation or discounts. It is about transparency, customer choice, and respectful treatment of customers. I attended this location in August 2025. and asked for a price on an oil change for my Mitsubishi Mirage. The estimate was $125 plus tax, a bit pricey but I accepted. I also asked for the manual gearbox to be drained and refilled. I didn't ask for a cost on this as it is a matter of removing 2 plugs, draining 1.5 liters of gear oil and refilling. Dead simple, much simpler that the oil and filter change for the engine, so I figured the cost would be proportionally less , $75 maybe? Imagine my shock when the bill included $125 for the oil change and $190 for the "transmission service" I contacted the company and they said the fee is their accepted cost for the service rendered and they weren't adjusting their fee. This place is the worst place to get service and to be an employee. My name is Rabih Mehanna and I started working there on June 7, 2024 and I have been harassed, assaulted, treated like trash, and the fact that I got hurt on the job and I had to take a couple days off to get better. With an official paper from my doctor stating I cannot go back to work until the specified date and time of my recovery. They used my being off work due to an injury at work to say I am not reliable to continue working there. The person called Moe "Mohamad'" was insulting me in Arabic language by saying I have told you this 200 times already, when I am on the computer assisting a customer, in front of the customer, he comes to the keyboard and pushes my hands away and says in Arabic out of the way, out of the way... He uses his cell phone all the time and talks in Arabic to his friends to bring their cars after work hours, and he does work for them on his friends cars and gets paid cash and puts it in his pockets. When I mentioned that to the manager Mr. Evan Karcha, also Mr. Cory King who I respect very highly, their response was, thank you for telling us this, will look into it. The first time I mentioned that to Mr. King, he said to me, I am not going to waist 4-5 hours to look at the cameras to see Moe stealing stuff from the shop worth $100-$150. When I brought this to the store manager, Mr. Evan Karcha, all he had to say is that these people are young. And that I am the problem and he called me on the phone to tell me that I am fired. So if an 18 year old by the name of Moe controls Mr. Lube and the managers and the shop, then this is a disgusting act and mess. I am going to expose these people and these guys to all of Canada. The business is terrible. Do not bring your cars into this shop on Walkley and Bank Street in Ottawa, Ontario. Last week they filled a car with oil twice. The employee name is Matt and the other is Isaac. They both oiled the car and they told the owner of the car to drive away. And his engine blew up. All the management team did, was write a piece of paper and give it to them that they have a note on their file. But for an employee as myself who worked extremely hard and I would do the garbages, I would clean the toilets, clean after others, and making sure the shop is operating properly and my sweat are still in the shop as to how hard I worked in this place and how I got badly treated. Very disappointed with the service at Mr. Lube Barrhaven. I called before Going to Mr. Lube to find out if they had a serpentine belt and if they could replace the one that was squealing on my Elantra when I first start the car. I specifically asked to check their stock to ensure that they had one so I would not make a useless trip. On the phone, they assured me only that they most likely had it in stock. When I got there into their cattle car lineup, I related why I was there and asked that she could check their stock and verify if they had the belt. I explained to the young lady that I was willing to have the belt change and the oil and filter at the same time. After waiting for over an hour I was ushered into the service bay, where again, I explained I had called previously, and wanted the serpentine belt replaced while the oil change was done. In none of the verbal exchanges did I ever get a meaningful reply or assurance that this would happen. In the end, all I received was a Way Overpriced Bill for an oil change oil filter and cabin air filter, a lacklustre apology and a recommendation to go to their Kanata location to get the belt replaced there. My recommendation...Get your oil and service done anywhere else but Mr. Lube! By far one of the worst customer experiences I have had. I noticed that when I went to use their tellmrlube.com, a site to review my experience, that I was blocked from giving any type of feedback positive or negative. I went in July 28 for a routine oil change. As usual they tried to upsell their other services I declined. About 2 or 3 days after procedure I noticed a fluid leak out front of truck. I took it to a mechanic and had him go over it. He found that during oil change the tech pushed on my transmission lines to short cut the procedure and damaged them. I contacted the Barr haven mr lube and informed them. As expected the manager called and said there was no way they damaged them. They were the only ones ever in there So Beware before using this company. They also locked me from putting this review on their website. read more

I went there and there are 3 lanes. As always you stay in one and if you picked a slower lane it's bad luck (just like grocery stores). I waited over 25 min and when it was my turn to go in I was told to move and let another car from 2 lanes over go in instead. I have been to many oil change places and this has never happened. I went this morning to see about repairing a tire with a nail in it. When I got there a young lady very pleasant measured my tread depth about 10 times and showed me that my tread was getting low but she said that they would repair it. I waited for an hour before I got in and when I got in a newer girl working so fast and eager to get more business goes and measure the tire again and comes back to show me that the measurement was just border line now. She said she would not repair it and just standing there looking at me to buy new tires from them. These tires were good enough for one more season and I new that but Mr. Lube just pushes you to always buy when you don't have to. I would not recommend going to these places because you have kids telling you lies all the time to draw in more money. My mechanic even told me several time that Mr. Lube always tries to sell you something that you don't need. They will longer get my business. I had several bad experience with Mr. Lube so I'm telling everyone especially younger adult and Woman. They thrive to steal extra money from others if they can get away with it. As with most of the reviews i've read. Upselling, with ridiculous HIGH HIGH costs. I have been a victim like all of us posted on the service at Mr Lube. My significant other brought my vehicle in for a simple tire change, he was told 45.99 for tire swap, he said ok great, then the tech said 10.00 extra for balancing. Ok, great for 10.00 whatever. When it came time to pay, it was 10.00 PER tire, so 21.50, so in total 98.00 for a straight tire change on a year old vehicle. At this point, the service was done, so he paid. He comes home to tell me, i contacted the "manager" he said my hubby "ok'd the service, i showed him the screen", its his fault pretty much blah blah, i told him you UPSELLED without approval.. Pure IGNORANCE on his part when i called him out on it, and he hung up on me. I emailed the franchisee, basically, he said he reviewed the camera and he saw the tech turn the screen and show him...long story short, CROOKS CROOKS CROOKS, they will upsell, twist their words to get the extra bucks from you then blame YOU for okaying the service, i guess thats how they get away with screwing customers STAY AWAYYYYY FROM THIS COMPANY!! read more
