I wanted to choose the contractor based on: 1) fairness/transparency of the estimate, and 2) whether the owner will be onsite every day to check on the work and progress, and 3) how many jobs the owner takes on simultaneously. I ultimately decided to go with Froy + Landscape Plus because he not only provided the best estimate but he struck me as a really genuine, trustworthy person, and I loved his philosophy of taking on only one job at a time for the best quality outcome. Because the reno approval process with my HOA took such a long time, there was actually quite a bit of a time gap between the initial estimate and when I could begin the work, but Froy was incredibly patient with me and was still easily reachable whenever I had questions or updates. I did my entire backyard, including a full demolition of existing pavers, built-in barbeque/kitchen, gas fire pit, and huge retainer walls that wraps around the entire yard, and re-tiling the whole floor with a new fire pit. Froy and his crew actually finished earlier than the initial estimated timeline, which really pleasantly surprised me. Every day, Froy and crew always showed up on time, respected our property and cleaned up after themselves, and Froy gave me very frequent updates on how things were going, what was going to happen the next day, etc. I also did not run into any surprise additional cost of any kind (other than what I added on my end, and even those additions were very fairly priced.) Last but not least, even when the work was all completed and the entire invoice was paid for, Froy came back a few times at my request to help return leftover materials + add extra lights. When I told George this he offered to have his crew make a special trip over the very next day to get it as cleaned up as much as they could even though we weren't yet scheduled on their route. True to his word, his crew arrived the next day and spent about an hour trimming everything and did a very nice job cleaning up after themselves. They were very polite and listed to our requests. We wanted a significant amount of time to pass before writing a review to ensure that hiring this business was a good choice. We can honestly say that we are very happy with this crew and feel that we made a great decision in hiring them. We fired the previous landscaping company because we noticed that our lawn was drying out, sprinklers were not being replaced/fixed, and our lawn just looked terrible overall. The breaking point was when we returned from work one day, and we noticed that the crew had butchered a large plant that took a lot of time and care to bring back to life when we had moved into our house. It was then that we fired our previous landscapers and contacted George a couple days later for a quote on monthly service. The price we pay for monthly maintenance is a little higher than our previous landscapers, but the difference in service is significantly higher and better. For one, George's crew actually fixes sprinklers when necessary and they ensure that our irrigation system is working properly. They check/test our irrigation system including timers and valves at least once a month. One would think that all landscapers do this, but our previous crew rarely did. In addition, George's crew takes great care to clean up afterwards; they neatly roll up our water hoses when I leave them out, and they ensure that there are no grass clippings scattered around our property. Again, our previous landscapers did not do this. The most important thing about this business is that George and his crew are really friendly individuals that take pride in what they do. For example, they make sure to trim our hedges and lemon tree carefully rather than butchering it like our previous landscapers. In addition, we recently had a timer stop working, and we did not want to buy a new timer at the moment. George informed me that he had a perfectly good, used timer in his office, and he offered to give us the timer and install it free of charge. Finally, we are hosting a party in a couple of days (as of this posting), and George offered to have his crew pressure wash our patio and other cemented areas of our backyard for free to ensure that everything is clean for our party! It is these little acts of kindness that make us proud that we hired George. We really have no complaints and have been happy with the way our landscaping looks. In fact, our neighbors have also given us positive comments regarding our landscaping as well; I guess the previous homeowners did not take good care of the landscaping?

Roland was our contractor and he gave us very reasonable estimates and stayed within budget and stuck to the timeline. They did artificial turf in our front yard and added a concrete step pathway to our front door. We were extremely happy with the way it turned out. They also did a waterfall feature in our backyard which did have a few issues, like the motor going out several times. However, every time we reached out to Roland, he followed through and sent his guys to resolve the issue. He stands behind his work, and even when the motor stopped working after a year, he sent one of his guys to buy us a new motor and get it installed without charging us for it. We were absolutely impressed with the way this company takes care of their clients and does not give up until the customer is 100% satisfied. Last month, we contacted Roland asking if he could do a small job for us; we wanted artificial turf installed on the small strip of dirt on the other side of our driveway, and even though the job was super small, Roland agreed to take the job. We had gotten another estimate from someone else and Roland's quote was far more reasonable. He sent his guys and they got the job done in two days. Overall, we are impressed with the quality of work, the very reasonable pricing, and integrity of standing behind their work.
