The classroom part seemed ok, except for the fact that they "misfiled" my parent class paperwork…read moreand tried saying I didn't take the parent class. The not so pleasant lady on the phone realized it was because they wrote down that my teen had went to a different school, even though I wrote down the correct school on the paperwork. The driving lessons is what bothered me the most. To start, on what would have been my teen's 3rd lesson, they were sent home minutes later. The male instructor felt as though my nervous teen had taken something, and kept asking if they took something, are they on something...what an awful start to driving lessons. So I straightened that out with Lynn, who knew I was pretty insulted and upset, yet she busted out laughing during this serious conversation. Once I told her my teen was fine when they left and had been home with me all morning, she then seemed to believe the fact that my kid was nervous, not high! More than half the driving lessons were rescheduled due to them screwing up the scheduling, pretty unorganized and inconvenient. One of the times my child almost missed the bus home, the driving school was supposed to pick them up and cancelled last minute. Luckily, I was able to get a hold of my teen to tell them to get on the bus instead. Another time, a different lady left a message saying the driving lesson for tomorrow needed to be changed to this day and this time instead. I called back and said that time and day didn't work, please call me and left my name and my teen's name. When the lady called me back, she was not very nice. She got real snippy and said, isn't your child 18 and needs their license asap? I said no, they are 16 and can't even get their license yet. She then changed her tune and said she mixed my teen up with someone else (even though I left my teen's name in the message). This rescheduling issue happened often, where they would leave a message, usually last minute saying the lesson for tomorrow is being changed to Friday at 4 (for example). Well, obviously when we set up an appointment, it was for a time that worked for us. How about if we aren't available Friday at 4? It's their fault for always double booking or for not realizing certain slots aren't available, not ours. They can't expect students to be available at anytime they pick for rescheduling. Overall, this was an awful experience that I wouldn't wish on anyone. Driving school is expensive. I'd suggest finding some place else!

Definitely did not get my money's worth! Very inflexible, rude and uncooperative in getting appointments and road tests scheduled to suit the student's calendar. Basically you get what they decide to give you take it or leave it. Would not recommend at all! Go to Mr.K's, DiBurro's or any other place first! Save yourself the headache of having to deal with this. Would have rated zero if it are an option!

Driving school teachers will instruct students to park on any car in the road. I have repeatedly…read moreasked them to find a different car to park on besides mine (which has been in multiple accidents due to different driving schools hitting it while parked right outside my house). After asking several times politely, a rude, nasty older lady who was the instructor of a poor young learner, decided to be super disrespectful and dismissive instead of just finding a different car to park on. The student seem extremely uncomfortable during the whole encounter and I don't blame her. All I did was ask respectfully to find a different car to practice on while explaining the past situations I have encountered. I was met with "we can park wear ever we want, you don't own the street" which I never claimed I owned just simply asked if she could use a different car to park on. As a direct representation of the company, this woman single handily made sure no kids of mine will be attending their driving school and I will continue to spread the word of this to my friends and neighbors.

The first thing I liked was that the owner, Ross Panacopulos, is a retired Massachusetts State Trooper as are some of the instructors. These are the right people to teach safe driving. Despite the fact that she is over 21 our daughter followed the proscribed Mass. Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) safe driver course because she will get a discount on her insurance as a benefit. This consisted of twelve hours road instruction, thirty hours of online classroom training and twelve hours of observation. Carmine was her instructor and he taught her well. She passed the RMV road test on the first attempt. She found the observation "tedious" but that is in no way a fault of the school; they must scrupulously follow the RMV syllabus of study. We have no criticisms of the school. Laurie, Melissa and the staff were very helpful. The only thing I would like to see is that the students successfully completing the course should receive a certificate or other documentation of their achievement. The RMV really should do this. Maybe if I ask nicely the ladies at Triad Academy will send her a letter.

They had us doing some drill that definitely got my blood pumping, but were very patient, friendly, and good at explaining what to do so that you felt empowered to try it for yourself. Although they gave us some great information, it was really the hands on practice and training that sets this place apart from your typical driver's ed school. Plus, it was really fun too! The full day course involved a mix between learning something in the trailer classroom, than going out in the cars to practice. Drills included slaloms, high speed breaking, ABS breaking techniques, tailgating drill, etc. We were given basic training about proper seating position, adjusting mirrors for blind spots, etc. Yes, this course can be expensive, but I would highly recommend it! I feel like I'm better prepared to handle emergency situations, and I've been driving for 14 years! Whether you are a seasoned driver, or just got your permit, you can learn a lot from In Control. Completion of the course awards you a certificate that can be used for insurance discounts too, which is a nice bonus.
