Had to come here for work, and it was a great experience. In Control has some really knowledgeable…read morestaff and drivers, who are also very good teachers. They had us doing some drill that definitely got my blood pumping, but were very patient, friendly, and good at explaining what to do so that you felt empowered to try it for yourself. Although they gave us some great information, it was really the hands on practice and training that sets this place apart from your typical driver's ed school. Plus, it was really fun too! The full day course involved a mix between learning something in the trailer classroom, than going out in the cars to practice. Drills included slaloms, high speed breaking, ABS breaking techniques, tailgating drill, etc. We were given basic training about proper seating position, adjusting mirrors for blind spots, etc. Yes, this course can be expensive, but I would highly recommend it! I feel like I'm better prepared to handle emergency situations, and I've been driving for 14 years! Whether you are a seasoned driver, or just got your permit, you can learn a lot from In Control. Completion of the course awards you a certificate that can be used for insurance discounts too, which is a nice bonus.

The instructors are great and the content is good. Plenty of hands on time. Perhaps the only drawback is that the large class makes for a long day.

Kendra came out and taught me for 3 very thorough and informative easy to follow sessions. She was…read moreon time, knows her stuff when it comes to commercial trucks, and was just a very positive upbeat instructor. After each of those sessions i was left with far more knowledge than when i started the day. With her teaching i was able to pass the pre-trip and driving test on my very first try to obtain my unrestricted class A cdl. I highly recommend using Road Masters Professional Driving school. I will continue to recommend people to her for as long as i live. Worth every one of the 5 stars i am giving the school.

My big problem was one of my last driving "lessons" if you can consider it that when she never…read moretaught anything. i was turning onto my home street admittedly a little fast and it was a wide turn. But the wide turn was needed because its a one way street and you should enter in the center if you can help it just because of things like parked cars or trash cans you initially cant see because of trees at the turn, i lived there i could help it so i was taking the wide turn. She didn't like that so she slammed on her breaks mid turn-- we where not even fully on the street the very back of the car was still on the edge of the main road where cars could pull over or park and she just verbally berated me. Now put yourself in my shoes, you are a first time driver alone in the car with an instructor who alredy has shown herself to be rude and hostile and for whatever reason her like 7 year old grandkid. Shes been telling you this whole drive how horrible you are but is still making you continue on busy roads on a weekday afternoon where the roads are packed. You are holding back tears because as she said "you are responsible for my life and my grandsons, you are going to cut both our lives short and its going to stay on your conscious" shes telling you that you are going to kill people after already putting you in a high stress situation, after verbally belittling you nonstop only adding to that stress, and now shes slamming on the breaks blocking off the street making you feel physically unsafe now and you cant do anything but take the abuse. If i was such a danger on the road she should have stopped the car in a safe spot or told me to pull over, she should have not continued to bring a literal child on the drives, or bring me on literally any other road at any other time of day-- or even done a basic function of the job and given me any directions at all or you know as a driving instructor taught me the basics of driving past "red means stop" like i didn't know already . But she made none of those decisions and instead opted for verbally attacking some teen who couldn't handle it or stick up for themselves. One more moment that sticks out to me, i was driving on curved road and if you kept stright there was a road clearly marked as "do not enter". I have been on that road a million times i was not going to enter, and she made a comment asking if i could read. Yes i can read. I was not able to get behind the wheel of any car for nearly a year because of this woman. it took my amazing father to convince me to drive with him, and he spend weeks of his next to zero days off from work to teach me hown to drive. I passed my drivers test first try no complaints, i maintain a clean driving record,I drove to school at salem state at all hours of the day, I have taken and drove multiple cross country, multi day road trips, i am a good driver and reflecting back i definitely wasn't going to kill anyone back then either! If she legitimately belived i was going to tokyo drift that car or something she should have told me to slow down in advance-- she knew i was going to take that turn before i put the blinker on we had been down this road before. That comment about killing her and her grandson has followed me into my adult years every time i go to my parents house and i make that turn i get a reminder. i am a history teacher now in a nearby school district-- i hear my highschool students talk about this drivers school and i always share my experience with them and i show them reviews because i would never wish for them to deal with what i did and i feel like they need to make informed decisions. And im happy to say it has turned most if not all of them away from going here. And im going to be honest imma keep talking to my kids through the school year about it and really make sure they know the importance of doing some research on a place before you do business, that concept is already taught in one of my units this is just the example i give for it :). Do not send your child here, they will learn stuff in the sit down class with kendra-- but its all stuff any driving school teaches. Karen might mentally scar your child for a time or leave them in tears like shes done to me and others i have spoken to. It is such a waste of money-- they dont even bring your child driving for the required time. And Teens! Its really not that deep you dont gotta finish drivers ed in 2 weeks, just go to any other school that isn't accelerated. You will probably feel more comfortable behind the wheel and you wont have to drive with a woman literally named karen who hates you.
