We stopped here for dinner after a wonderful Christmas concert. Wanted to try the new waffle chicken sandwich. My wife liked it I did not. Fortunately I ordered a Roman Burger because I have always loved them. Unfortunately the Roman Burger I got was meager at best. It was nothing like the sandwich in the picture. Silly me for thinking it would be as wonderful of a sandwich as I remembered having gotten years before. It was very disappointing. My wife got very sick from the chicken sandwich. Not saying the chicken was bad, probably an issue with non-antibiotic-free meat. She was up most of the night. We won't be back. Very poor customer service and cheap owners. Used a BOGO coupon and they refused to sell a kid's meal in the same transaction, stating it's a combo and a double discount. Mr. Hero corporate refuses to enforce same standards on their franchises and allow them to run things any way they want. I advise taking business to a different location, or not Mr. Hero at all. I have never tried any Mr. Hero, but it was a Doordash option so I placed an order for delivery. I asked for the smoked turkey sandwich to not have swiss cheese, but it did. The sandwich was full of old lettuce that could be smelled as soon as the wrapper was opened. Some was even brown. The tomato slices were not much bigger than a quarter and were not fresh. The waffle fries were lukewarm but were good once I nuked them for 20 seconds. During the pandemic, we are encouraged to support local businesses. Very few restaurants, including this one, repay that patronage with quality, tasty food. Including a Pepsi and the Dasher tip, the order was $18.75. Way too much money for mediocre food. Used to be one of our favorites. This time it was so greasy and honestly it just tasted old even though it was made "fresh". Waffle fries always a hit except cheese was again old tasting. Service was average. Always make you feel rushed to order. It was just ok.. prices are higher than expected. Might be a long while before we return. read more

Well I came based on previous reviews being I'm here in Ohio on business. I stopped in and immediately was greeted warmly by Harsha at the counter. I ordered a Chicken Philly meat and cheese only and substituted Swiss for Provolone and am Kinda perturbed it cost me $1.5 to change out cheeses. The waffle fries were fresh and hot. The cheddar cheese was good but wish it was bigger for .80. For sure though the sandwich and fries were hot and fresh. That was very welcomed based on most fast food places not meeting that mark. I agree on the fry scale as there wasn't 1 single fry more than their scale told them their should be! Big bag for the Waffle Fries but could of put some more in there for sure. Overall I would probably recommend this place but probably not at 13.00 bucks for what I got in exchange. read more

Went here today on a "whim". I saw the add on TV for the Hatta Potatta, and I would have to say it was very good. I also had the waffle fries w/cheese sauce. The store was not busy at all. I was the only customer in it, and I was greeted with a smile and a "hello". My order came very quickly and I was headed back home. I will definitely be going to this Mr. Hero again. We grab take out from this location a couple of times a month. We generally order Roman Burgers (the big 10 inch) with everything, large waffer fries with extra cheese, and large sodas... by the time we get home we've usually put a serious dent in the fries. The restaurant is usually busy (we generally show up between 7 and 8 PM). The only real downside to this restaurant is the hours... they close early (earlier than the other fast food restaurants in the area). I think they must close around 9 PM which doesn't always suit our schedules (it's actually quite devastating when a craving brings us out for Roman Burgers and the restaurant is dark). The Mr. Hero in south Akron is open much later so I think the hours of operation vary with owners. I will also comment on the fact that the staff weighs each and every single order of waffer fries... I find this interesting, especially when they are SLAMMED and customers are crammed into the waiting area. The cardboard trays/paper bags that the waffer fries are served in leave NO room for extra fries. However, the staff will add fries and place the bag on the scale, then subtract/add a fry and re-weigh, and then repeat the entire process. This goes on until some unknown margin of error is met and the fries (which may be nominally warm by that time) are whisked into the to-go bag next to the cooling sandwiches that were ordered some time before. Why weigh fries when you can't possibly shove too much in the bag that they are served in?? Hmmmm, this remains a mystery.... Oh, by the way, extra cheese should be ordered for the large order of waffer fries... the "large" cheese is only an extra 1/2 squirt of cheese bigger than the "small" cheese. According to our research this is not nearly enough cheese to adequately coat your waffer fries (and your arteries). ;) Somehow the cheese topping stays warmer than the fries, thus making the cheese topping a necessity for all to go orders. read more

If i could rate this negative I would. Not because the service was unpleasant but due to the fact the the cashier, Veronica was so unbelievably disrespectful to her coworker. It was absolutely repulsive. She literally scolded her like she wasnt a human being and even shooed her away like a dog as she aggressively told her "to get in the back". She continued to shake her head in anger for a simple error that could easily be fixed. All she did was drop a small batch a fries when we ordered a mushroom. There were 3 people behind us which im sure one of them got fries. I smiled at the sweet older Indian women and she didnt shed a single emotion toward what just happened. She smiled back in a professional manner before she was hollered to go to the back again. It looked as if this was a repetitive situation for her. This is far from team work and not acceptable in front of guest. From how poorly she was treated, I will never be back to support Mr.Heros. It was very unprofessional and unnecessary. I feel so utterly bad for the lady i wanted to go home and bring cash back to tip her but wasnt sure of your policies on hourly wage workers taking tips. To top it off, even after all that happened my order was still wrong. I cant have cheese and she mixed up the sandwiches and wrote cheese on the one with no cheese. We don't have Mr Hero where I'm from, so this was our first experience. Not bad. The staff was very nice and helpful. Subs were standard, nothing exciting. Better than Subway. Fries were good with cheese, but the cheese somehow exploded in our bag and everything was cheesy. But I mean, cheese is amazing, so no worries. Normally I would give 3 stars, but their cookies are amazing, so they get another star. read more

This location should serve as a staple for any fast food restaurant or sit down for that matter super clean ! This was my first visit to a Mr. Hero in over 10 yrs. and the waffle fries are still just as good as I remember. I also stole a few of my husbands Zesty fries, they taste a lot like Arby's curly fries except these were fresh and crispy. My service was polite, clean and welcoming as well as the restaurant itself. If you can manage to get through the horrible traffic, this is a meal worth making a genuine effort for. read more

I would give them 0 zero stars if possible. Stopped in after work for dinner. Got home my sandwich was made completely wrong. Called the store and spoke to the manager Hersha. She was very rude, cursed and laughed at the fact that my sandwich was made wrong. Not sure why this is so funny. Either she is a child or mentality challenged, but that is not how you treat a customer. I simple just wanted my meal replaced but was NEVER given a reciept. She said I got one but considering she was not the person who waited on me, how can she say I got something I never recieved. I have never been treated so rudely over a sandwich and have called corporate to contact the owner to get a refund. SHAME ON YOU MR HERO for handling YOUR mistake so poorly!!!! Instead of simply replacing my meal YOU made incorrectly your "manager" Hersha laughed and lied. I will be reporting this to the Better Business Bureau and telling everyone I know about the horrible experience I had at this Mr Hero location on Hudson Dr in Cuyahoga falls.
