I dropped my Pixel phone on the ground about a month ago and its screen cracked, making it totally unusable. I brought it in, spoke to an employee who was friendly, answering all my questions, and he also even suggested, when I reacted to the cost of the repair of my phones screen, that its quite possible I could order the part on ebay for considerably less, if I spent some time to research and find a cheap source for the part. If so, I could supply them with the part and they would do the repair and charge me only for labor. In the end, after researching parts on eBay I actually found that what these guys were quoting me for part plus repair ($150) was totally reasonable, and actually $10 less than another nearby repair shop I had checked out. So I brought the phone to them and came back after a few days, sooner than the upper limit of the number of days they estimated for the repair - they said up to 5 days (which btw was only that long because of waiting to receive the part, and bc it was just before a weekend) and I came back after 4 days. When the tech saw me he said its 99.9% ready -the glue is drying. The tech said he only had to put a speaker grill back on. I dont know if that means he had forgotten to put on the grill and that meant he would now have to temporarily remove the new screen, put the grill on, and then replace the new screen again (in which case the event that follows might be more the tech's fault), or that it was simply the last step of the repair job & that he just hadnt gotten to yet, but either way, at that moment there was a distracting customer at the counter speaking loud who also briefly - and inappropriately - stepped BEHIND the counter to point to or handle an item, and then soon left the premises. In that brief moment of activity behind the counter the tech became distracted (as the tech reported), and the new replacement screen became damaged during the grill replacement process. I was pretty upset (and so was the tech!) but he without hesitation said he will order a replacement immediately at fastest shipping, with both the part and shipping of course to be paid for by the store, and he would throw in a Tempered Glass-type screen protector, and gave me a time to come back the next day. He said this is very rare and had never happened to him before. I gave the guy the benefit of the doubt and instead of being too upset, accepted that things happen. In the end I did pick up my repaired phone the next day in wonderful condition with its new screen, at the original price quoted, and with the new glass screen protector. Its been a month now, and Ive no complaints at all about the way the phone has been functioning. Its as good, or better, than before I dropped it. The tech's mishap described above did of course upset me and I do report the story openly and dont want to gloss over it - however, the cordiality, professionalism, and down to earth openness of these guys made a strong enough impression on me that I feel fine giving the highest star rating instead of any lower rating. There were several ways my experience with these guys could have gone downhill after the mishap, but they remained poised in a professional composure, acted quickly, openly, and responsibly and Im 100% happy with the service. I do trust the tech when he said that this was the only time this event had ever occurred to him in the course of doing a screen repair. I also did end up getting my repaired phone back within the estimated time period they originally gave, not longer, even though there was that mishap. And at final pickup, it was ready at the exact time of day they said to come by the store. Thanks for the repair, guys - I appreciate it! read more
