The sour and pickled fish dish at this restaurant is quite worth the price, with a taste that's not exceptional but also not bad. Their specialty drinks are also pretty good. 呢間餐廳嘅酸菜魚都幾抵食,味道嚟講不過不失。佢啲特色飲品都幾唔錯。

Finally tried their special lunch menu today! The lunch set came with the appetiser+main+rice+drink. Not something astonishing but not bad - the taste and portion are average and the price is quite reasonable.

Amazing soup place! I've gotten takeout twice from this restaurant, and it's mostly because I really like their packaging! They have custom takeout containers and super cute branded reusable bags they give with each order! Their fish stew, like their namesake is so incredibly delicious! The fish pieces fill the inside of the stew and is packed full of flavour. I cannot stress how incredibly impressed I am with this restaurant. Their portions and price are actually pretty great and super worth it! The regular size stew is enough for 2 modest meals in my opinion, while the jumbo can easily be split to 4 meals! The jumbo is +$7 (roughly 1.5 times the regular price) so definitely getting your value. I measured the volume of the jumbo--at the under-filled-looking level--and it's a bit over 2x the soup in a regular. So great value! I highly recommend you try this fish stew! It's delicious and cozy, perfect for a winter day!

You have to give this place a try. Great flavours, price and service. We had the fish in soup for 2 and I highly recommend it!

Came here for lunch and had their large Tomato Flavoured Soup Base with Basa and added Napa cabbage and enoki mushrooms. We also ordered the signature pumpkin BBQ basa fish. Each came with a bowl of rice. This was enough for 3 people to share. Flavours were excellent and tasted really good. Would definitely come back and try other dishes.

Chanced upon this new seafood spot on Yonge near Finch. I love seafood but know it's not the best cold, so made a note to get delivery from Mr. Fish one day. Well, that day was today, and it was perfect timing since it's biting cold outside. My wife and I got different types of their fish stew (their signature one and a lemon based one). A tad pricey, but they were nice and warm, the portion sizes were huge, the fish was tender, there was a heaping of noodles, and we loved the add-on quail eggs. If we had only one quibble, it's that the broth could have had a bit more flavour. Maybe next time, we'll try the regular spice version (instead of the mild). And yes, there will be a next time with Mr. Fish. We loved the stew, and will definitely work our way through the rest of the menu.

Mr. Fish Ratings: 3.9/5 Food: 4.25/5 - I have something similar when I visited China back in 2019, so I was excited to try out Mr. Fish. I am a big fan of Szechuan food, but my boyfriend can't really hand it. The dish we got was very flavorful and delicious, and we devoured it very quickly. This is the place to go on a cold winter night, and their broth cures everything and will warm you up. You can see the description of the dish we got to share below for more detail. - House Sauerkraut Fish Stew [GET]: The fish was so tender, soft, and fresh, and there's a decent portion of fish in it, definitely more than I expected. I can taste the flavors from the broth into the fish as well, so well-prepared for sure. The broth was absolutely amazing. I love the pickled cabbage a lot, added this acidic flavor to the dish, very refreshing and delicious. I just wished it's sourer and stronger in flavors, HAHA, missing a punch. It wasn't spicy or numbing, since my boyfriend can't handle it. The ingredients and veggies were fresh and well-cooked. Make sure to soak the rice into the broth, so good! Ambiance: 3.75/5 - Interior is super well lit, bright, and neat, although it's not too big, but we didn't feel tight at all. It's quite and a great spot for couples or a small group of friends to grab dinner. There's a ton of seating available with tables and booths. The only thing was the plates and silverwares weren't clean thoroughly, and some still have some stains on it. I love the cute decor they have at that time with flags and soccer balloons hanging on the walls for the World Cup. Price: 4.25/5 - We got the house sauerkraut fish stew for $14.95 and opted in for a large size for $7 extra. We added some spam, enoki mushrooms, and napa cabbage for $1.99 each, and an additional bowl of rice as well. My boyfriend treated me for dinner, and I think the total for the two of us came up to be around $35, which is not bad at all. We wished there were more veggies though, but we were quite satisfied and full! Service: 3.5/5 - We came around 8PM, and there were two staffs eating dinner at the moment. They didn't engage us or really come over to our table until I called them over for some questions. I asked about the dishes, and after that he return to his table and started eating his dinner again. We end up ordering it via mobile, and they brought out the food once it's ready. Not the best service for sure and wished that they were more polite and thoughtful, since we are their customers. Not many interactions afterwards. BLUF: Surprisingly good flavors and tender fish meats! I can't say it's as good as the ones I've had in China, but it gets the job done. It was such as hearty and comforting meal that we were both so happy afterwards. If you cannot handle spicy, definitely go with the house fish stew and make sure to add some napa cabbage, since they are the best veggies to soak up the broth. I would return one day and make my boyfriend try out the spicy ones.

I've always craved sauerkraut fish stew especially with variations and lots of tasty side dishes to pair with. This is my go-to for the lemon-sauerkraut fish stew and one order can feed up to 2 people and comes with a huge bowl of plain white rice! HUGE! Most of the stars from this review were based on my dine-in experience, I'm sure takeout would be a better option for our situation now!

Combo for 2 ($39.84) House Sauerkraut Fish Stew with rice we have 5 toppings (luncheon meats and vermicelli are highly recommended) and ice jelly with brown sugar served as desert Fish is boneless and soft with mild taste of spicy sauerkraut

Oops ate all the fish already!! Got too excited before I took a pic.

Super cute packaging that is spill proof! The soup was still warm when I opened it after a 15 minute walk. Got the tomato soup with fish. The soup was super creamy with a nice tomato flavoured base. The fish were super soup and fresh and paired will with all the veggies it came with. Would definitely try again perhaps in another flavour!

Got the original chicken karaage boneless - I appreciate that it comes with 3 dipping sauces so you can try various flavours and not just stick with 1 flavour like at normal fried chicken restaurants. If you're not in the mood for Katsu, there's other itemskke karaage, baked chicken , rice cakes, or udon. They also serve pizza from Pizza Maru which operates from the same premise. However, the menu was hard to read. The service wasn't super friendly - I almost felt like they were hoping we didn't dine in so they can focus on take out orders. We were the only 2 people that were waiting for their dine in orders and the food felt like it came out slow. The ambiance was quiet. Lots of empty seats. Perhaps it was the day we went, but even if the restaurant isn't busy the atmosphere wasn't as welcoming. Ie, it felt like I wanted to quickly finish eating and leave asap rather than enjoy my meal with my company. Limited parking spaces, but is free.

Lots of seating is available, including comfortable 4-6 person booths. The only downside is that parking right on Yonge is very limited. The menu has expanded beyond katsu to include pizzas, wings, udon, and tteokbokki. The katsu was excellent with its light, crisp batter, and the special set came with a great variety of sides plus both rice and a small bowl of udon. The pizza and wings were also fantastic--we ordered the half-and-half pizza with the signature shrimbul (highly recommend if you like a little heat) and Korean bulgogi. The wings were flavorful and delicious as well. Service was decent, though we docked half a star because some drinks on the menu weren't available (only 2 out of the 5 beers listed). That said, we still had a great experience overall and will definitely be back!

We ordered the oden set with yogurt soju, Taiwanese popcorn chicken, and the salmon fried udon with uni sauce. Everything was super comforting and flavorful, especially the oden on a cold night. What really made it stand out was the bingo game. It got the whole bar involved and made the night feel more interactive and social. Just $6.99 for a plate of peanuts! The mains were shared. Deep Fried Spicy Chilly Chicken ($21.99) which consists basically of chicken knuckles with very little meat. The spice was delicious but it includes whole red chili's, which were a little over the top for hotness. Second was the Skewer Platter ($24.99). It was chicken knuckles, beef, pork. Good but lacked any real quantity of protein & was disappointing. Finally the last was the Yang Zhou Fried Rice ($15.99). This was the best of the dishes & the only one we fully finished. Service was good & fast but there was a mild language barrier. The menu itself was only available online so we missed some subtitles of said menu. We were the ONLY customers in the restaurant when we arrived. This is more traditional Korean Food & was definitely NOT to our liking. Mostly it came down to what we thought vs what we got. NOT a do over for me!

I visited Baili expecting to have fusion food, but the menu may have changed because what I got…read moreseemed to be Chinese food, which reminds me of spicy flavours from Sichuan though maybe it isn't exactly that type of cuisine (spicy and numbing peppercorns, if you're into it). We ordered the spicy beef, assorted skewers, corn ribs, and finished off with a salted egg tiramisu. The menu seems kind of inconsistent and unfinished from when we went a few weeks back. Even ordering some menu items was a challenge, as it was only in Chinese, and we had to use Google Translate to understand what they were. It definitely did not feel like a full fusion restaurant, but more like a Chinese restaurant with a few items that were a bit more Westernized, like the corn ribs and a couple of dessert options. There was a ceviche option (we didn't order it), but it was really just sashimi cut into chunks, not the delicate, thinly sliced ceviche some might expect. However, the main thing that really drew me in was the salted egg tiramisu! It's a good tiramisu, don't get me wrong. However, I hardly tasted the salted egg component, it very well could have been a regular tiramisu, as the salted egg flavour was really subtle that I was questioning whether there was salted egg in there. We eventually did find the salted egg layer. The assorted skewers and corn ribs were tasty and I would recommend. The Hunan spicy beef had good flavour and also recommended by the waiter but was a bit too intense. Keep in mind, if you don't like coriander or think it tastes like soap, there is a ton stir fried in. It wasn't really to our taste preference in terms of spice level because there were a ton of numbing peppercorns in it, it was like eating a landmine trying to dodge them. We brought it home, and I picked out the zillion peppercorns and stir-fried the beef with some eggplant and a touch of sweetness and it worked so well. The menu left me a bit confused and unsure how I feel about this restaurant overall, as there wasn't one signature dish that made me feel like I had to revisit for it and of course getting burned with the peppercorns wasn't the best either especially when we mention less spicy but we should've specified less numbing (we didn't know it would be numbing though).

Food They do charcoal BBQ kind of setup - so I find that a bit more flavorful compared with gas. Their meat selection is pretty premium - although not AYCE - it can fill you up pretty quickly. The meat gets cooked pretty fast too, cause it does become very hot with the charcoal - so it's better to coordinate with everyone to not overcook the food. There is an AYCE dessert bar on the side, which there's a chocolate fountain and a lot of different fruits or small snacks available, including marshmallows to finish up the meal.
