Great food and a super clean restaurant. The employees were so nice and very accommodating and super fast at getting us our food!

Always a treat when I run through the drive thru at Mr. Empanada. If you have a small appetite or belly , I love their mini empanadas which only cost $2 and change vs. $4.35 for the big one. They also have the minis in their desserts : apple and guava and cheese. Service is quick but if you want to skip the wait, call ahead. read more

Everyone in the Tampa Bay knows this place has great empanadas! I always ordered Beef and Beef with Cheese, they are my family's favorite. They cook the empanadas when your order so they are always hot and fresh. Sometimes we saved some for the next day, they are easy to heat up in the airfrier. read more

Love this place, the empanadas are so tasty and service is great! Very happy with how my order turned out

Hi, I visit your drive thru service periodically to order one or two ground beef empanadas with steak fries. I've never had a problem until today. My first meal of the day, I ordered my usual and went home right around the corner to eat my food. Almost immediately, my stomach became upset and forcefully, I ran to the bathroom to vomit every last bit of the food I had eaten. Something was definitely wrong. Please ensure your employees are following proper food safety handling and health guidelines to ensure customers do not become ill. My experience today, unfortunately, was enough to not revisit your establishment. read more

This review is based on POOR - ToGo execution. Came on a Wednesday @1:30pm No wait time. Swing in to grab some Empanadas. Order 5 and one drink. Customer service... is awful -no napkins... Extremely disappointed and will not be coming. I have been to many other locations and never had any issues and friendly service however this one does not cut the bill! read more

Empanadas are ok! Not bad, not really good either. However the lady in the counter, looks really rude and it makes you feel unwelcome, I saw another's reviews that I am not the only one so why she still working there? I really don't wanna go back and not because I didn't like the food but I don't wanna have to deal with that angry face and feel unwelcome. read more

This place is so good! I've been ordering from here for years and realized that the orders are ALWAYS right, they are efficient & accurate and if you order on uber eats, they are so fast! I love this place! They deserve a shout out and you definitely should try it! It's so nice to have something different and affordable! The food is delicious so I alway order a variety because it's all so good! Apple empanada is so good for dessert, Cubans are amazing, Spanish bean soup is a must, and the empanadas are all so good & steak fries are hot and perfect! Forget overpriced "Cuban sandwiches" anywhere else! They have the BEST! read more

Passed by here Saturday and decided to order a few empanadas, and we were not disappointed. We ordered the ground beef, chicken broccoli and cheese, spinach and artichoke, Italian sausage and cheese, the chicken and cheese, guava and cream cheese as well as the Spanish bean soup. It was all delicious. I've never have a chicken broccoli and cheese empanada, but I will absolutely order that one again. I really liked that the empanadas aren't greasy. The soup was good and the meat they put in it (not sure what kind) was really tender. The pricing isn't bad either. For 7 empanadas and the soup it was about $28, so it's a decent price for what you get. We will be back read more

Best empanadas around! I especially love this location. The staff is helpful and friendly. Our order is always on point and the food is so tasty! They even have a drive thru which makes picking up a few empanadas super easy. The beef and cheese empanada is my favorite! The buffalo chicken and pizza are also really good. The dough is fresh and fried perfectly. They have steak fries my hubby usually orders as his side. I stick to just ordering empanadas. For dessert, the guava and cheese empanada is a must order item! This might be the best thing on their menu! They are fantastic whether eaten hot or cold. Overall, we've never had a negative experience here. read more

Heard about this place for years but first time stopping in. Wanted a couple empanadas but decided on a classic Cuban sandwich which was good. I don't know why but I like Cuban sandwiches over a meat pocket. Going to be back in another week so I'll try the empanadas an update. But all in all the staff was nice, very fast and that Cuban sandwich was delicious read more

My kids really like this place so I take them about 3 times a month. Did the drive through today. Had a question and got my head bit off by employee. I was taken back so just nodded smiled and got order. Debating on going back. read more

Poor customer service, The racism I experience has been the most disturbing experience in life sad to say as a Latino I went to go and support and it left me with the worst experience ever. I walked in did not get greeted and was immediately asked if I was the uber driver. I was wearing scrubs with company name on it that you can not miss. After I enter behind me a Caucasian men walks in and he was greeted and treated with the most respect and was not asked if he was the uber driver, not to mention this man was dressed in normal clothing. Turns out he was the uber driver. (Nothing against uber at all). It was the way I was spoken to and looked at. The reason for my review I would never want someone to be treated the way I was. read more

Great little fast-food stop tucked into a corner of the Publix shopping center on Dale Mabry at Linebaugh in Carrollwood. Mr. Empanada serves......wait for it, wait for it....... empanadas! OK, empanadas are best known as a little Latin delicacy which are formed by folding dough around a filling of meat, cheese, seafood, veggies, or fruit to create a sweet or savory fried pocket of absolute yumminess. Mr. Empanada serves the following types of empanadas: Ground Beef (picadillo) Ground Beef & Cheese Italian Sausage & Cheese Spinach, Artichoke & Cheese Crabmeat (Claw crabmeat -- none of that fake Krab stuff) BBQ Chicken Pizza Chicken, Broccoli & Cheese Guava & Cream Cheese Apple Philly Steak & Cheese In addition they make platters of mini empanadas (25 to a platter) which are perfect for tailgating or parties at home. They also have a wide variety of salads, soups, and even a Cuban sandwich. Highly recommended as a quick lunch stop, or a place to consider if you're having a party and want to serve something different. read more

Mr Empanada - Picadillo (better known as Meat Empanadas) - Empanadas Near Me - Tampa, Florida

There is a granny working there that looks like Mrs. claus with no respect at all. She needs to go back to school and get management skills. For the buisness owners hire someone with people skills.besides that food is great. read more

A Sunday lunch choice, and it was good. I ordered a Picadillo, and a Beef and Cheese. Girlfriend ordered a Beef and Cheese and a Spinach, Artichoke and Cheese. They were ready to go in 5 minutes or so, and service was great. We got them to go, since I had stuff to cook for a dinner party that night. Got home.. and dug in. My empanadas were very good... and I preferred the Picadillo, personally. Very tasty... although needed some heat to make it really good! Hot sauce was provided.. and that did the trick! My girlfriend opened up the Spinach, Artichoke and Cheese (they are packaged individually with clear labeling)... bit into it, and made a face. It turns out that somehow they had stuck a Guava and Cheese empanada in the bag, and it was not what she was expecting, obviously! She did say it was very good though... and she did enjoy her Beef and Cheese. A good choice for a quick bite, and really close to us... so we will probably eat empanada's occasionally! read more

Recently visiting another nearby restaurant my friend ran into Mr. Empanada. She purchased a beef and cheese empanada for herself, which I had a small bite of, which was pretty tasty for never having a empanada with cheese. She also got a pizza empanada that was passed along to my son...... Let me tell you.... He devoured it! He kept saying "yum!"! Lastly for myself, I had the beef empanada (picadillo). This was super tasty. The meat was very flavourful and the shell was crunchy and now oiled down like others I have had from elsewhere. There are several locations around the area, so next time I will need to stop in and taste some more! read more

Mr Empanada - Empanadas Near Me - Tampa, Florida

We've eaten Cuban sandwiches here over the past couple years with only a couple small issues. However, today will be the last time they ever get my business. My girlfriend went through the drive through and got a salad and Cuban sandwich for me. I ate the salad then opened the Cuban sandwich which had a black hair right on top that looked like a pubic hair...also the meat on it looked old and nasty (it had a grayish brown color to it). We take the sandwich back and speak with manager. He said "ok, you want another sandwich!?" Of course we said no. He gave us a refund and said "here you go." That was it, no apology, nothing which you think management would apologize and feel a little embarrassed or remorseful but not there. The last dollar they'll ever get from us. read more

One of my go to lunch spots. It's super convenient because there is a drive-through. I love the beef and cheese empanada. The sausage and cheese is good, spinach and artichoke taste like spinach and artichoke dip. Their Cuban sandwiches are also very good. I highly recommend!!! read more

Wow went back again! There is an employee named Jake (good looking young man), fantastic customer service! I have seen him before, he has probably been there about 3 to 4 years. This was my first and LAST visit to your establishment. I can sum up my experience in 2 words....RUDE STAFF! The empanadas were ok, a little underwhelming and lacked flavor. Beef and cheese empanadas are awesome! Cuban was good too! Drive thru is a huge plus!

I don't know much about empanadas, but I know good food. These empanadas are delicious. So far I've eaten the chciken, broccoli and cheese...now on to the beef and cheese...and sausage and cheese! Can't wait! read more

Did not have a good experience the first time ordering..the lady behind the counter told me to look at the menu and get what I wanted? I was asking about the mini empanada's and the different types? So..then I tried the drive through a few times and got a couple of different gentlemen. They were very nice and I would go back through the drive-through again and order. Just don't go inside and deal with the ladies! LOL read more

Arielle & Rachel were great and provided the best and helped and guided me through my indecisiveness.

If I'm in Tampa, I MUST stop by Mr. Empanadas. It doesn't matter if I'm sticking to my low-carb lifestyle or not, my guilty pleasure is hitting up one of their locations for fresh, hot empanadas. They would get 5 stars except, since they are franchised, this particular location on Dale Mabry doesn't have the same level of customer service as the one on Kennedy. The Kennedy location team are family and they just do a bang-up job making you feel like you're one of their members. They will give you extra hot sauce if you ask without giving you the side-eye and they just make things amazing. However, the consistency of the empanadas is just to die for. My favorite is beef & cheese, then chicken, broccoli & cheese. For dessert, you've gotta try the guava and cheese but the apple empanada will make your heart sing when they hop fresh out of the fryer. For two hungry, greedy people, expect to spend about $40 with enough for left-overs for late night munchies or in my case breakfast during my meeting the next day. I've been at least a dozen times in my travels, this is one of the first that I haven't smuggled a bag home on my way out. read more

Beef & cheese like my mom makes. Not a fan of the guava and cheese one though. But most people think it's crazy good.

The place is terrible all the way around. The service is bad and the empanadas are no way near the other franchises. Try the Perez way buddy. read more

It's really hard to drive by a Mr. Empanada without having my mouth water for their tasty empanadas. Whether you're in South Tampa in in Carrollwood, the food never disappoints. My husband is latino so I've had some fantastic empanadas, but these guys definitely know how to master their stuffed flaky pastries. The spinach artichoke and cheese is my favorite, however, it's not a traditional flavor. Guava and Cream Cheese is a close second for my taste buds. I always select a few of the beef and cheese for my family and they are always appreciative. read more

Mr Empanada - Yummy - Empanadas Near Me - Tampa, Florida

This is a terrible restaurant. They messed up my order then demanded I fix it through Uber. Actually told me I had to fix it through Uber. They shorted me on food. Admitted it was their mess up and I am supposed to fix it through someone else? Then the guy says "he is the owner" and that's how it's going to be. He actually said that to me. Unbelievable. Do any of you really want a food preparer who is willing to steal your money and push off their admitted mistakes on others actually handling your food? That's pretty scary. I'd beware of this restaurant. Check out the Angel and Samantha review below. They are spot on. Something is very wrong with a restaurant that goes to battle with a customer after they took money and refused to make right their wrong in shorting food. If they are this greedy and skimping, my concern is the safety of the food preparation quite frankly So because of this guys outrageous behavior they lost all of my future business and people in my office. I was a good customer. Does that cover the value of a sandwich? Not good economic sense for the restaurant or putting good will into the community in my opinion especially when I did not get a refund of the money I spent for food not even provided. read more

This is my first visit to Mr. Empanada. This is a nice, clean store in a Publix shopping center. This is one of a number of locations grown from a single location years ago by Mr. Perez. We ordered a deviled crab and an Italian salad without meat, and a cafe con leche. I've eaten at many Cuban restaurants in Tampa and this is one of, if not the best deviled crab. Full of crab meat instead of stuffing! Authentic cafe con leche. The only disappointment was my guest's salad. Totally uninteresting consisting of uninspired lettuce and five olives placed on top with a small cup of dressing in a styrofoam box. To be fair, I did not try their signature empanadas. Lots of traffic for take out orders while we were there. Nice, clean outdoor seating with umbrella. read more
