Normally I like to share my positive experiences on Yelp but after what I encountered with Mr. Clamato, I am a very unsatisfied customer. I was really looking forward to sharing the great experience and food I had with my family and close friends. I asked on my last visit if I can have a gathering of maybe 15-20 people (taking the distancing into consideration) for a birthday celebration. The staff member who assisted my friend and I, said that it was possible but they were very busy on Sunday, so please call ahead and they could save the benches in the patio. I was very excited and made the arrangements with family and friends. I called a week before and Alexis said that was fine just to call a few days before to reconfirm. I called a few days before to finalize the date and time. Noemi was very nice and helped make sure her manager was aware. I show up 30 minutes ahead of schedule to prepare. When I arrived, I notice all the tables in the patio were filled and proceeded to find the first staff member available. She seemed puzzled. I mentioned I had reserved tables for a birthday and confirmed with Noemi; who spoke to a manager named Victor. She assured us she would call the manager out to help me. Victor (manager) approached my mother and I, just as I was getting ready to greet him, he immediately started asking me who in Bakersfield would ever book a party of 20?! Also, they are monitored and would immediately be shut down if they allowed a table of even 10 people. He asked if I knew the laws during this time and that he didn't know who I spoke with but no one in Bakersfield would allow that many to one party. As I am trying to keep my composure, I notice to the right of me a table of twelve people and they were definitely crammed and not wearing masks. So how is that any different? To me, they made a mistake and this gentlemen was just not willing to admit it. I was pretty peeved at this point, especially because I had my group on their way and was told by his staff/management that they could and would reserve the tables. Did I assume we would be split up? Of course, I did. Was this a huge let down for all involved? Definitely. I think what upset me the most was his lack of customer service and accountability. Also, they were so packed, orders were an hour and a half wait. Yes, I enjoy their unique dishes but no it is not worth the treatment I received that afternoon. What they don't understand is how inconvenient their mistake was for all involved. We had people driving far to try this place out for the first time. Needless to say they probably will not be returning. I really enjoyed this place prior to this disappointing experience. I am sure they will continue to succeed and I hope their service continues to improve as they grow. read more

I was impressed with the presentation but the taste was off as I got to my first bite of shrimp something definitely didn't taste right.... as I pulled out a shrimp I noticed the shrimp was not cleaned right it was not deveined, even though I know they use frozen shrimp you are supposed to wash and inspect the shrimp and if they are not doing this then I'm sure the other stuff is not clean properly either. St. Inside location is clean although, something that stuck out to was how they leave the tostada bags out for any customer to reach hands in, not knowing if hands clean or dirty that is GROSS! The shrimp chowder is so yummy. It's spicy and delicious. The grilled bread bowl is the perfect combo.

Its a food truck so don't expect a sit down style restaurant. With only 2 tables (each table has 5-6 chairs) and two small standing style tables, prepare to possibly take your food to go, or wait for a table to open because to my understanding it can get busy, as food trucks in Bakersfield are becoming a pretty popular style of "dinning", as this place is no exception. When we went both tables were taken so we had to wait but not for very long, we went 45 minutes after they opened on a Saturday. The seating area is nicely shaded and the tables are clean and have plenty condiments. The parking is kind of sucky, but it's doable. About the Campechano, it's really good, refreshing and filling, the 32 oz campechano cost $13 which I feel was a bit steep, but the serving was hearty, on all ingredients besides the shrimp., I'd appreciated a few extra, but who wouldn't, right! The Campechano is made with clamato, shrimp, clam, oysters, octopus, cucumber, lemon/lime, black pepper.. I may've missed an ingredient/spice, but that's pretty much it.. Not having avocado, cilantro, and onion was a drag, but hey, that's their style, and I like it! However, for $13 avocado should be a must. The menu contains, Campechano and a Clamato (no beer-sorry guys) drink ONLY! Don't expect to order asada tacos and nuggets for the kids. **Becareful because I had a saladito in my campechano. I'm glad I seen it before taking a bite because that would hurt my already fragile teeth. I think this place is worth a whirl if you are craving a clamato drink and/or campechano. read more

All i can say is WOWWWW... i went today and i already want to come back tomorrow. The food and customer service were both a 10/10. The girl with the red hair attending us was really sweet and patient with us while ordering, and was kind enough to take our food to where we were sitting. The place looks super clean inside and outside. They have fans to keep people sitting outside fresh in this 100° weather and have mist to cool us down too. The food!! Oh my goodness wow.. it was spicy and so delicious. Im upset with myself with not finding out about this place sooner haha. Just look at my photo. Its mouth watering.
