    Crispy "seafood" noodles

Overpriced for what you get! Went there tonight for dinner , ordered the red (chili) oil dumplings, truffle soup dumplings, chicken mushroom boa, crispy "seafood" noodles. The only thing worth it was the chili dumplings. The rest were waaay subpar. The mussels in the noodle dish were dead (didn't open) and the shrimps were tiny ($26??!!) and barely tasted any truffle. Will NOT be returning.

Luckily it's not in the busiest part of Whyte Ave so parking was not too hard to find. Boarded up front doors were very unappealing and made us wonder if this was the right place. Inside looked great - loved the decor, booths, and the novelty of watching the chef roll dumplings. We were greeted warmly and staff were very kind. Lots of staff working and our waters never went empty. We also ordered Green tea ($3/person) and it was delivered in adorable tea pots and constantly refilled with hot water. Not the best tea for sure but helps with the experience. We tried: Noodles with Shredded pork and mustard greens: 7/10. Broth was good. Mustard greens were good and I liked the 2 pieces of Bok Choy. Couldn't find barely any pork. Noodles were definitely homemade but too thick and chewy for my liking. Pork xiao long bun (soup bun): 9/10. Lots of pork in it! I was surprised there didn't seem to be any vegetable in the filling. Soup was good inside the bun but half of them break when trying to pick them up. They are HARDER to pick up (without breaking) the colder they get so pick them up and move them asap. Chicken truffle (soup bun): 7/10. I don't like truffle so no surprise this flavor wasn't as good for me. 5 out of the 6 broke when we tried to pick them up and we lost the magic of soup bun. Red chili oil Pork Dumpling: 10/10: Lots of pork filling. Dough was very pleasant; chili spice wasn't hot on the tongue BUT our lips were numb by the end of the dish - boyfriend loved it! Salted Egg Yolk Bun: 9/10. This was recommended by the waiter as a dessert. 3 pieces. Dough was soft and fluffy. Custard was very rich and creamy but not sweet. Very unique dessert but if you're looking for a sweet finish this is not sweet enough. Overall once you get past the front door this is a highly recommended one! So many menu items we need to try so I will be back.

My family has been eating here for a few years and I even celebrated my 25th wedding anniversary here. Alex and the rest of the staff ensures all the customers are well taken care of. He had heart balloons and flowers for our table which made the occasion even more special. The food is fabulous, the peaches and shrimp dish is so good as well as the beef with Gai lan and the tofu assorted vegetable hot pot. Noodles and desserts are great as well! We have tried so many dishes here it is hard to name them all. This restaurant is also on SkipTheDishes and with my referral, my office has ordered on several occasions. Everyone was very happy with their lunch choices! Excellent food and service, prices are very reasonable and if this restaurant was closer to my home, we would be eating her all the time!

Huge change from the dark paint and warehouse styling from the previous AYCE sushi place. They have divided the space nicely including a large private room. It also helps that YEG's notorious Boyle St Co-op, formerly next door, has been raised to the ground, thus moving the hardcore zombies a few blocks north. You can actually park your vehicle safely in their free lot now, for up to 2 hours. Security is watching and even checks in with you when you park. As for the food, in my experience it's all been great! The menu is a funny combo of different cuisines, definitely befitting the name "bistro". There are a variety of asian dishes (Chinese, Japanese, Thai), HK-style foods and very traditional western cuisine like beef bourguignon. That one intrigues me, super old school and looks really good. There are also some set menus that come with drinks. It's one of the few places I feel spoiled for interesting selection, hard to make a choice. Chinatown Dining Week has brought me back here three times in as many weeks, got hooked by the beef and sour veg steamed in a lotus wrap. This visit my husband got the gyukatsu set, which was really good if you can live with slightly sweet Glico-style curry. The omurice was perfect. Their katsu particularly is really, really good, better than your average schnitzel, and much cheaper! Have been back a few times and even brought the extended family. There's something for everyone! Everything we've tried has been tasty, fresh and a generous portion. Previously we tried the bistro premium fried rice which had scallops and tobiko, delicious. My food-restricted niece tried the crispy shrimp appy, which were really tasty and more like prawn-size. Not sure she got many back after offering to share with the table. Ah Chinatown. Been coming here my whole life but always get the side-eye, usually from the owner, until ordering. The experience wouldn't be the same without it. The other staff were more genuinely friendly and happy the food was enjoyed. One01Bistro is officially a new family favourite, especially before events at Rogers Place. Psst also... cheap beer.

Once you are able to flag them down, they do provide services relatively quickly Cleanliness - 2/5. Typical, some dirty dishes. The server saw but didn't do anything and wanted to put soup in it. We quickly grabbed a new set where multiple sets were ready for distribution when neccessary. As Asians, we generally wash all of our bowls and utensils prior using as our practice with hot water or tea (depending on what you ask for). Food - 4/5. The chicken casserole was flavourful, just a lot of bones. The beef was very soft and tender. The sweet and sour pork chops had a thick tangy sauce but good that it had a light batter around the meat, which kept the meat moist. The chicken is the typical dish you can get at most Chinese restaurants. It was interesting that it actually sat in a soy sauce base. The ginger sauce is missing the typical green onions. However, it was seasoned quite well. I didn't take a picture of dessert though. It was red bean with glutinous rice sweet soup. I actually quite enjoyed it. Overall: 3.5/5. It's an ok place to try if you are in the area. It's has free parking. Just be vigilent with the bowls and utensils.
