In retrospect (from reading the other Yelp reviews) we came out better than a few others. If you are seeking a company that puts customer satisfaction and possibly safety first, I ADVISE YOU TO READ ALL YELP REVIEWS BEFORE booking chartered trips and familiarize yourself with all terms - this applies to any and all business you are considering. We expected some rocking in the water on the trip out; however, we never anticipated there would be what felt like real safety issues, bouncing so hard that it threw some of us off the seats and caused those standing to grab anything within reach to hang on. It slowed the boat down to four knots and caused the crew to inform us that at that speed, it would take us another two hours to reach our fishing spot and this was after already traveling for an hour. We were asked if we wanted to continue or turn around and possibly reschedule for another time. No promises were made by the crew, but the rescheduling idea was introduced by them. WE chose to turn around. Upon docking & preparing to exit the boat, we were given an envelope containing $320. We'd paid $1,960.00. After several voicemails left on the return trip in, my call was returned. After a discussion of events, a company representative talked with the crew and decided to refund an additional $580.00, bringing refund total to $900.00. He stated he had expenses - boat, fuel, crew (? - sign on boat stated crew works for tips so we gave them $200.00 for the hour - hour and half we were on the boat). We boarded the boat "assuming" businesses that provide services which are affected by weather conditions monitor all conditions and would have and use the knowledge and expertise to make a determination on whether a trip out was feasible or not, and if the safety, wellbeing of the crew and passengers and the satisfaction of customers was placed first, the engine would never be started; therefore, there would be no expenses. Again, this was/is MY/OUR assumption. After the fact, family members searched Yelp reviews and discovered it appears this was not the first and only such incident. Additional Note: We were also "gifted" two vouchers for a half day charter. Our group of 25 might have to draw straws to see who gets to add those to their portion of the refund. I'd asked for 16 so our local family could use that and the out of state family could receive the majority of their initial payment. Well, Two is better than ZERO!

My dad and I have booked our summer tour with Island Adventures for two years now (and are going…read moreback next month) and have never been disappointed. We always ask for our guide, Chris, as he is super friendly and knowledgeable. I always feel safe as he looks out for the group, but there is plenty of time to zoom around on your own, too. My favorite part last year was coming up on a pod of dolphins near a shrimp boat. There had to be at least 15 of them (even a baby)! They were close enough you could have touched them. They also had a small hammerhead shark (fished that day), a stingray that anyone could hold and get a pic with, which was an unexpected treat for all the kids on the boat (and several of the adults). Also nice that when waiting prior to boarding there were restrooms nearby!

Very Disappointing Experience -- I Will Not Be Returning…read more On September 14, 2026, five of us booked an 8-hour private deep-sea fishing charter with Little River Fishing Fleet. Our original trip was scheduled for September 15, but Little River called us the day before and asked if we could move the trip to September 14 because of bad weather expected the following day. We agreed, and our trip ran from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. At first, I was impressed with the company for being proactive about the weather. Unfortunately, that was probably the best part of the experience. We were greeted by Captain Henry and his assistant, Jordan. Captain Henry was knowledgeable about fishing and answered many of our questions. He also helped one of the people in our group when a hook needed to be removed from their finger. Little River also cleaned and filleted the fish we caught. Unfortunately, the negatives far outweighed the positives. The biggest problem was that this was supposed to be an 8-hour deep-sea fishing trip, but we spent far too much of that time NOT fishing. The boat was slow and appeared old, and the seats were extremely uncomfortable. We spent a significant amount of time simply riding to and from fishing locations. On top of that, approximately one hour of our trip was spent catching bait. I understand that catching bait can be part of fishing, but when you're paying for an 8-hour private deep-sea charter, losing an hour to catching bait--combined with the excessive amount of time spent traveling--leaves surprisingly little time actually fishing. We also had an issue with how one situation on the boat was handled. The captain yelled at someone in our group. In my opinion, if customers are expected to know exactly how to handle a fishing rod and what to do when a large fish hits, those instructions should be clearly explained BEFORE someone is hooked up to a large fish--not after a mistake is made. I was also disappointed with the equipment. Based on what we experienced, I did not feel that the boat and equipment were properly suited to the type of fishing we were expecting from an 8-hour deep-sea charter. Then there was the issue that concerned me the most: barracuda. We caught five large fish, approximately 3-4 feet long. Four of those five fish were barracuda. During the trip, the discussion about whether barracuda were safe to eat left us with the impression that they were okay to consume. After returning home, I researched the issue extensively and spoke with other deep-sea fishing companies. I learned that barracuda can carry a significant risk of ciguatera poisoning, particularly larger barracuda. That made me very uncomfortable with how the issue was presented to us during the trip. I'm not claiming the captain intentionally misled us. I am saying that, based on the information we were given and what I learned afterward, I believe customers should receive much clearer information about the potential health risks associated with eating barracuda before being encouraged to keep or consume them. To be fair, I appreciated Little River contacting us about the weather, Captain Henry's fishing knowledge, and the fact that they cleaned our fish. But an 8-hour private charter is a significant expense, and I expected much more time actually fishing--not spending large portions of the trip riding around and catching bait. Five people paid for an 8-hour deep-sea fishing experience. We caught five large fish, four of which were barracuda, and I left feeling that we simply did not get the fishing experience we paid for. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to Little River Fishing Fleet, and based on our experience, I cannot recommend them. If you're considering booking with them, I would strongly recommend asking detailed questions beforehand about the boat, travel time, how much time will actually be spent fishing, whether you'll be expected to catch your own bait, what equipment will be used, and what they recommend doing with barracuda if you catch them.

They are all about customer service. The owner actually loaded the kayak into our truck himself and helped tie it down with bungee cord. Since it is the off season, he gave us a great deal AND gave us several locations for us to check out. Not being from the area, having private access and options is an absolute plus. My husband and I loved the personal service and would recommend to anyone looking to check out water sport rentals. 10++

Caught a bunch of Spanish Mackerel and had the opportunity to take some home if we wanted. We did the 7am half day charter and it was great. It got near the end, but overall it was a really fun experience. I'd definitely recommend if you've ever wanted to do some deep sea fishing. At the end we did some shark fishing for a while. The whole thing lasted around 5 hours in total. It was a perfect amount of time and a wonderful experience!

I think what really sealed the deal with me was watching FM deeeeeep cleaning where we all were most of the day. Since this was my first time deep sea fishing, I wasn't sure if this was normal but, just to be completely honest, it was cleaner than any restaurant I've been to since the pandemic. The crew was fun. We're all sore. We have lots of fish to eat and none of us got sick! One of the highlights of our Girl's Trip was definitely parasailing with Downwind Sails…read moreWatersports! We arrived at around 1:45pm hoping to be able to book for a 2pm slot and thankfully, they were super accommodating. Once we signed our waivers, we paid the parasailing fee ($98pp after tax) and the additional photo fee which was $30. After we dropped off all of our belongings at the Reservation Area, we were directed to the beach to grab our life vests. With it being Mid June, the sand was very hot but once we got to the water, we were fine. What we were unaware of was the banana boat that we had to take to get to the parasailing boat. It was definitely a pleasant surprise but a fun experience nonetheless. Once we arrived to the parasailing boat, the guys were extremely helpful and informative. They hooked us up to the harnesses and gave us a quick rundown of the rules. Parasailing was, by far, one of the most breathtaking and invigorating experiences I've ever had! I absolutely loved it and it was quite peaceful. Unfortunately, my friend did get queasy after a while so we had to cut our ride a bit short but the guys were very nice and made sure to give my friend some water until the other couple finished their ride. The rides lasted maybe 8-10 mins. If you're planning to visit Myrtle Beach or even live in the area, definitely check out Downwind Sails Watersports. There are height and weight restrictions so definitely check out their site for all the details but the staff were wonderful and the parasailing was amazing!
