I have two experiences with Mr. Appliance of Mentor. 1. I was having a cosmetic issue with my Bosch stove that my contractor who installed it failed to even point out or bring up considering he was the one who installed it. I called Bosch since it was still under warranty and they sent a tech from Mr. Appliance out to examine the issue and repair it. This tech (Robert) was super friendly and did a great job examining the issue, informing me what was wrong and how they would repair it, and then came back a few days later once he got the parts from Bosh to fix it. 2. The second time I had an appliance issue with my washer, I decided to call Mr. Appliance again based on the great first experience. They sent a different tech out this time (Lloyd) who was grumpy the minute he walked into my house despite my efforts to be cordial and friendly with him. He spent maybe 2-3 minutes looking at my washer when he told me what the issue was and it would be over $900 to fix. He must've guessed that I was not convinced, so he called his buddy on the phone on speakerphone just to convince me. Then he wrote up the bill on his tablet and I paid and he left. I was not happy about this visit and wrote to Mr. Appliance to address my concerns about him and the costly diagnostic fee. Mr. Appliance reassured me that he had industry experience which is why he diagnosed the issue so quickly, but nonetheless refunded the diagnostic fee. I was not expecting a full reimbursement and told them they could have just reduced the diagnostic fee based on this very quick diagnostic instead. Nonetheless, they were prompt in responding and addressing my concerns and for that, I have to give them credit for their attentiveness to their customer service. This would have been a five star review even with the bad second experience if the tech came into my house with a better attitude. Our brand-new stove kept tripping the breaker. Called them as it is under warranty. They came out, turned all the burners on, then went to his truck to call GE about a new control board. Came back in and said he will get back to us in a day or so. He never called or came back. I bought and replaced the board myself, and it's been working like new ever since. Told me it was the computer board in it that needed replaced - because display with temperature settings wouldn't work. Spent $500 to replace computer board. Display still doesn't work!!! read more

I had a repair man come to my house 3 times. initially he said he would order parts and also mentioned it would be difficult to move my washing machine. when they came back, the worker said he had a hernia and could not lift anything. why was he sent to my house? so before he left, he said to try to run it again and if it didn't work, call the office. he didn't do anything .. it would have flooded my kitchen AGAIN. then, they came back to actually fix it. he fixed it, now the washing machine is in the middle of my kitchen, not hooked up. my fiancé is paralyzed in a wheelchair. Well, on March 5 2026, they came out to my apartment to service. My dryer , which was producing no heat. Telling me not to run the dryer until I had my apartment complex.Come over and clean out the vents. Which I did, i washed my first load. I stick it in the dryer.I ni sooner walk from the kitchen to my bedroom. My daughter yelled at the dryer was out again. I was very upset as I had just spent over three hundred dollars to get this fixed. They come back out on Tuesday saying it was the belt this time. To make a long story short , they wanted an additional $200.Because this time it was the belt , the cost of the belt and their technician fee again when they never resolved my original issue. Had another appliance company come out because I refused to give them one red hot cent for never doing anything in the 1st place. Other than collecting money. Their technician, Jonathan, put the wrong thermal fuses on my dryer. So I just had another appliance repair company, which charged me a whole lot less like a fraction of what they charged me not only did he put the wrong thermal fuses on the dryer, he also put my belt on incorrectly so that it would snap as soon as I started the dryer meantime, these people blamed me for breaking my own dryer again. They are shady and crooked in business dealing. all i'm going to say is buyer , beware , be very aware. One last thing when they came out on that Tuesday, and I didn't want to give them any more money. He began to get hostile with my daughter who told me mom , I'm scared , I could hear his tools and things slamming in the background as I was on the phone with her , I told her to tell him to get out immediately and call the police. read more

I had the exact same experience with the same technician as K.H.V. I assume there is some commission involved because, without touching the washer that was only having intermittent spin cycle issues, the technician was positive it needed a new transmission for $900. I stated that, based on a lot of research, it was likely just a coupling. I agreed to the "repair" because I figured I would get another many years with the washer I really like. The washer sounds like it is falling apart, there is an abnormal noise while it spins, and the brake sounds like the washer is going to explode. The technician was aware of all of this before he left, stating, "You have a 1-yr warranty". I hesitate to even call for further work, given the reviews of the staff demeanor by many people. And I certainly do not want the same technician to be sent. Despite diligently reading reviews for many companies, I thought the negative reviews were people who perhaps were just a bit disappointed, and I took a chance. Lesson learned. EDIT: I did receive a message from the home office, advising that they will get the same technician out to look at it. The same one who left the job, knowing full well of the issues stated above? His disposition the first time around was marginal. I cannot fathom what it would be for a call-back for his own work. read more

This was my second experience with Mr Appliance. A few years ago, Jonathan fixed my oven. Again, the issue was the oven, but a different problem. Service appt on our three day old brand new double oven was scheduled 8/13 thru GE with a confirmation number for an appt today 8/25. We called today to get the closer window than 8am to 5pm but were told at first there was no appointment by Vicki then when I said loudly in the background that was unacceptable (as we have 5 ppl eating air fryer food for 3 works with a broken BRAND NEW DOUBLE OVEN) Vicki then stated that she didn't see it until 8/20....and what? Then chose just not to schedule any service appt? Pretty sure that is against what a contracted service provider does. I did call to inform GE so they are aware but this is unacceptable for a brand new appliance service call. No service call made today as promised from GE on 8/13 - brand new stove still a waste of space - my kids still have no ability to eat fresh food in a pandemic (as remember we can't just "go out" - still waiting for someone to respond. Side note - when I was saying it was unacceptable she then told my husband she would choose to not send a tech out. Ma'am I am 39 and the reason that service call is happening bc I dropped $1800 on a stove...I don't need a mammy - I need a service scheduler who does their job. LG washer flashed a code and stopped working. Called Mr. Appliance who was listed on LG website as an authorized repair service. Jonathan came out in a few days sending a text beforehand with a photo. He was experienced, knowledgeable, and courteous. He ordered the necessary parts and returned a week later and fixed the washer. I would recommend them for appliance repair. read more

Unprofessional Technician (Jonathan) who communicated disrespectfully, had disproportional controlled rage throughout (physically shaking hands), and seething hatred which frightened, shocked and upset me greatly. My dishwasher broke. On 2/16/22, Jonathan came out and ordered parts. He said he is okay with pets, my almost 2 yr old Labrador jumped on him once and was interested in what Jonathan was doing. Jonathan did not seem to mind and pet the dog. I paid half ($303). He said parts were in stock in Youngstown. On 2/24, I held door open for Jonathan to bring box of parts inside. He said to keep the dog away during the repair. I said okay. The dog was outside (door is in the kitchen). I brought our Labrador inside and immediately put on the leash and had the dog's harness in my hand to put on. The dog jerked forward and I said before you start can he greet you? Jonathan said nothing. The dog jumped up once. I quickly pulled away and started to put on the harness. Jonathan was seething mad, glaring eyes and sternly told me that either I keep the dog completely out of the kitchen or he would leave. Very angrily, he kept asking what my choice was and to tell him immediately or he would leave. Shocked, and wanting my dishwasher fixed, I assured him I would keep the dog out of the kitchen. I apologized to him for the dog jumping and I apologized for angering him. He said nothing. In silence, for 1.5 hours, he fixed the dishwasher and I kept the dog in the living room with me. When done, he said he was done and it was $300 owed. I did not want to get near him, so I said I would like to pay Vicki in the office. Jonathan flung open the dishwasher door and still very angry said if I did not pay him he would pull the parts. Then he gave me 3 seconds to go get my card. I asked why he was so hostile. Jonathan said, "you disrespect me and this is what you get". He slammed his computer tablet on the kitchen island and his hands shook as he entered the info. Terrible experience w this company. They came out 3 times to repair our oven. They're scheduling is awful. Twice requested morning time, they said ok, and scheduled me in the afternoon. Third time, they scheduled me for an appointment but never called me w a time. I called them, they forgot about me and said the technician is coming now. I had 30 minutes notice and had to call off of work. When I told the owner I had to work, she moaned and got mad like they were doing me some big favor by coming out right then. No notice! When I told her how bad the customer service was she said, well you got your oven fixed didn't you? I laughed. They do not care about the customer. They do things their way and that's it. I had a repairman, his name was Bob and he was great, come to look at my washing machine. He had to order parts and said that I would be notified when they came in, this was on a Tuesday. The next Thursday, I received a call that the parts were in. The appointment for repair was scheduled for the following Thursday. I specifically stated that the time needed to be after 3pm and was told that would be fine. I got a text the Wednesday before the appointment saying that the repairman would be there between 12-2 pm on Thursday. I called and said that I specifically said after 3 pm. I was told that there was another appointment that couldn't be home until after 3:30 pm, when asked why that person receive preferential treatment, I was told it was because Bree, the scheduler, scheduled him first and she could do nothing to help me. How is it that one person can get there scheduled time, but another could not. I asked for a manger to contact me and was told that they, the manager, was out of town and could not be bothered and that she, Bree, was in charge. I looked into online reviews in the area of appliance repair services and they all looked pretty bad. Mr. appliance didnt have much feedback on the site I used so i took a chance. Mr Appliance of Mentor did a great job! They came out, diagnosed the problem and found the part was under warranty still even after several years. Jonathan was professional and did a great job making sure everything was right. Price came in where I was told even though it took more work than i was originally told to expect. I even got a follow up call to make sure everything was right. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again or to refer someone else to them. -John read more

Great Service from Mr Appliance of Mentor from start to finish! I have had them service my older fridge in which they offered options and did not make any unneeded or unnecessary repairs. When I purchased a new fridge it also ran into problems and Mr Appliance came out and worked with the manufacturer to find the problem and order the needed parts. He was very thorough and made sure the job was done correctly. From the initial phone call with Vicki to the service call with Robert all was top notch. Friendly, courteous, prompt & knowledgeable. I used my home warranty when the oven started randomly and obsessively beeping for no reason. It was VERY easy to schedule an appointment and had a tech (Jon) at my house in 3 days. He was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable; and did a great job coordinating with my home warranty company! The replacement piece we needed was discontinued and could not be rebuilt/repaired, so I had to buy a new one. Called for dishwasher repair, tech never took front panel off, didn't check hose. Didn't do one thing for 80 dollars I paid him. He said it needed a new pump even though it was pumping water. It was was 376 dollars to fix, then had him check the refrigerator it was not dumping ice as obtain as before, he said gears are stoped even though it dumps ice. read more

Would not recommend. The positives are: The technician was professional (no problems there). The negatives are: I just wanted my refrigerator to be fixed to run. The technician tries to upsell me a new seal for the door because the current seal has a minor crack in it. ( not interested). Then tells me he can not fix the refrigerator and guarantee the work unless I do the whole job which means replacing the seal ( again not interested in replacing the seal). I just want the refrigerator to run. (It ran before with the current door seal). I ask about the cost of the parts which I believed to be a bit expensive. After doing a 2 minute check on the internet, I find I can buy the parts myself for less then half the price that they want to charge and have them within 2 days. Then the tech tells me he would have to order the parts and could not get them and install them for 5 more days with a labor cost of $223.00. Come ON!!! I am not waiting 5 more day to have my refrigerator fixed. If you are going to charge more than double for the parts, you should either have them in stock ( which I understand is not always possible) or at least have the ability to get them and install them within 24 hours. I would have had them do the job, until I heard that I had to wait 5 more days. Parts are on the way and already found a certified HVAC tech who said he could install the parts for me on the day they arrive for $40.00. There is even a YouTube video on how to install the parts yourself within 15 to 20 minutes for my repair.     Definitely would NOT RECCOMMED!! This is a reprint of my previous review of "Mr. Appliance of Mentor" , because it seems that my earlier review was somewhat hidden from the forefront because of some algorithm that Yelp runs on reviews as per Yelp Customer Service. I sure hope I am wrong and I do not want to believe that there is a lack of honesty and integrity at Yelp Corporate Headquarters. Otherwise, Yelp would be doing a great disservice to both the people that would be reading these reviews and also the companies the are being reviewed.
