I was searching on ConEd web site the companies listed as renewable energy suppliers and came across Mpower, I called their customer service department, the lady who assisted me explained how I have two portions on the bill which I had not noticed and how they only replace the supply portion with a fixed rate and I receive renewable energy, still having ConEd as deliverer which BTW have increased their delivery charges by A LOT. I decided to try the fixed rate and to this day I'm glad I made that choice. I don't have to worry about my supply charges increasing, only be mindful of how much electricity I use. Customer Service was nice and helpful. And I was assured that if I was no longer interested, I can call and will not be charged for cancelling. So, it's a win win... read more

This is a good opportunity for NYC residents to receive clean energy. I would rather help the environment by using renewable sources than keep using Con Ed. I had a good experience with the agent who signed me up. They knocked on my door and spoke to me about the importance of protecting the environment. I am already an environmentally conscious person so the sign up was a no brainer for me. I keep receiving my bill from Con Ed so it's all pretty easy and the price is fine. The only reason to take a star off is because the website is not as user-friendly as I would prefer, but the staff is polite when I call with a question. If you meet an agent from this company definitely give them a chance. It's a good service that makes a difference for the environment. read more

The people who solicit at your door are very aggressive. I admit even I was taken in at first. They cross a line by demanding you show them your gas and electric bills so they can lie and claim you have surpassed an "unsafe" usage limit -- then "help" by strong-arming you into switching to their fixed energy rate -- as if usage and rate were related. They engage in unethical business tactics by misrepresenting that their intentions are in your best interest, and by insinuating that it is mandatory to switch. They seem to target immigrant neighborhoods (such as Jackson Heights) where English is a predominant second language. Based on some of the other reviews on this site the employees have clearly been given a script by management to scare and scam people. read more

I had a pleasant experience with switching my electricity provider to them. The agent who came to my door, Ryan, was energetic and helpful. He explained what they do and I enjoyed speaking with him. It sounded like a good idea to me to use renewable energy to help the environment, and I like that I don't have to do any legwork and will keep receiving bills from Con Ed so that should be easy to deal with. I've had them for a few weeks now and the value is good. I know that there are a lot of bad reviews on here from people who don't like soliciting, but my interaction was polite and professional. Would recommend others give the company a chance. 4/5 stars because they didn't have a brochure to give me, I think it would be helpful to have some literature. read more

Where do I begin in this age your always skeptical about door to door business because you think who sent them why are they here but yesterday an agent from MPOWER stopped by and I had no prior knowledge about the visit or renewable energy she was very informative her approach was very educational and guiding she explained all the benefits that were in it for me my favorite one was Less emissions because my daughter has asthma. I heard a knock on my door I was feeling sad but when I went to open the door, there was a sales lady talking as thought she was reading a script "My name is Shantal from MPower I'm just ...xxxxxxxxxxxx" I said what ??? She laughed and started over and said my name is Shantal from MPower sorry. I had to laugh, she speaks different with a different accent. She fully explained why she rang the door bell and what her job was . I then after fully understanding the purpose enrolled in the green energy. She left me with a green paper with all the information on it and also her number to call if I have any questions. She is very friendly and has a nice smile . These two agents came to my door talking about renewable energy, I had no idea I could have renewable energy living in an apt complex in NY. They also explained I could have a fixed rate, meaning I will pay the same amount for all the kwh that I use which is great. I don't have to deal with my supply price increasing since ConEd is already increasing the delivery charges. People look at your bill, I read so much trash here and hate.
