No call no show. We have a full trailer that has a deadline to return. Had to hire last minute at more than double the cost.

Strong Brothers Moving - A very full truck...

Strong Brothers Moving

(30 reviews)

I talked to Joseph (owner) and am so thankful for the wealth of moving knowledge he shared with me…read more I was hoping to use his company for a full-service move, as my parents are moving across the country to live with my family. We are taking 2 bedrooms' worth of furniture plus a fair amount of boxes. A full service move wouldn't be cost effective for my folks so he suggested an alternative that turned out to be a good choice for them. Not only that, he could tell I was stressed over our situation and was so kind, I was able to calm down and continue with moving forward with all of my many other tasks. If I ever had to move with a full service company, it would be Strong Brothers Moving. I can understand why they have such good reviews!

After recently losing my husband, I needed to downsize and begin a new chapter. I chose a home that…read morewas half the size of our previous one--no stairs, low maintenance, and far more manageable for me. In the months leading up to the move, I painstakingly culled, donated, discarded, and gave away many meaningful items from our workshop and home, ensuring they went to people and organizations who could truly use and appreciate them. It was an emotionally and physically demanding process. Choosing the right movers was critical. I interviewed several movers, and many were uninterested in handling fine art, a grand piano, in having a thoughtful conversation about the complexity of my move or lacked proper insurance that would cover a meaningful loss should one occur. From my first interaction with Joseph, one of the co-owners of Strong Bros., however, I felt heard and respected. He readily acknowledged that my grand piano required specialty movers, but--importantly--he also showed genuine interest and care for the art my husband and I had collected over the years. Before making a final decision, I requested some names of other clients the company had moved and received glowing reviews. I am very glad I followed their recommendations. Joseph promised a stress-free, damage-free experience, and delivered on that promise. Joseph came to my home, thoughtfully walked through each room with me, and meticulously documented what would be moved and what would remain. After I spent several weeks doing a substantial amount of the packing and moving myself, Joseph returned for a second visit, reassessed the scope of the move, and offered a discount at my request in recognition of the work I had already done. I deeply appreciated hat level of fairness and integrity. Joseph and Andrew arrived on time every day during the move, were consistently polite, professional, and fully engaged, and spent four days to complete the move. While Strong Bros. was the most expensive of the companies I interviewed, their value was unmistakable. Their care in handling my belongings, their attention to detail, and their commitment to proper insurance coverage--far beyond the bare minimum--gave me peace of mind during an otherwise stressful time. What ultimately sets Strong Bros. apart, however, is not just the quality of their work, but the quality of their character. Beyond the logistics and cost of the move, Joseph and Andrew took a genuine interest in my story and my needs. They treated me with kindness, patience, and respect in every interaction--before, during, and after the move. I would recommend Strong Bros. Moving Company without hesitation and with sincere gratitude.

Him and his partner David showed up early and knocked out the job efficiently and quickly. He did not charge us until after the job was done and he was very accommodating. I highly recommend! A few days before the delivery date, Nacho called me to confirm everything. The morning of the delivery Christian and David arrived early (fine with that!) and introduced themselves and began laying down heavy duty rugs at the garage and front door entrance into the house. David was obviously the foreman and he and Christian worked well together. Very patient and kind with each other especially as they worked the larger items into the house and set them up. They asked for my input throughout the morning on where to place things. They provided an efficient unloading process. The only thing amiss was they couldn't locate my queen bed frame. That was no issue because Nacho delivered a replacement and set up the bed for me. Nacho has been in business for many, many years and I learned that he genuinely enjoys what he does. He is a positive and family oriented individual. I appreciate his and his team's professionalism, friendly nature, and that they bring truly a quality and affordable service to our community.

He wrapped things I told him not to and not just wrapped them but blankets, bands and plastic wrap. When I asked him about it when he walked by me with 5 things that I had told him didn't need to be wrapped, (because it was taking WAY longer than it should) he told me he needed to protect his shins!!! He also claimed that the move was 100 feet from door to truck (not 50 ft as I had told them). Images show how close it was. When I spoke to the office manager after the move and told her how unhappy I was with how this move was handled, she informed me that the person who did the move was the owner and her husband and that he FORBID her to give me any kind of discount. I'd recommend looking at other movers who are in the area, because you have zero recourse with this company and they don't stand behind their work or follow your instructions.

Where do I begin? First and foremost, I do not recommend moving buddies. It took them a total of 13…read morehours and 45 minutes to finish our move. Here is what our move consisted of: Downstairs: Kitchen table with 4 chairs 45 boxes 7 bookshelves(that could go as is) Small desk Upstairs: King size bed (that did need to be taken apart) 2 twin beds (that did not need taken apart) Small entertainment center Second small desk 1 small book shelf 2 kids dresser 1 medium dresser 1 large dresser 2 night stands 1 toy box 2 recliners 22 boxes I didn't think this would have been a difficult task. When we moved into this house one year ago we had all the same stuff save for a few things we've bought through our time here. But no furniture purchases since we moved in. At first everything looked like it was going great. The guys were super nice, and we paid for 3 movers to get the job done quickly. They arrived right on time and started at 8:15am. The movers looked around the house with me so I could show them what was going, and they told me 4 to 4.5 hours to finish this job, and that's what they told the lady they were on the phone with. Fast forward to 4 pm and they finally finished loading the above mentioned items. Mind you, just a year ago me and my friend loaded and unloaded everything just the two of us with a uhaul and an F-150 in less than 8 hours. This includes taking stuff apart and putting it back together. When the movers showed up to our new place, a good 75% of the items they loaded were just going to be unloaded into the garage. The only thing they needed to move upstairs were the 3 beds, dressers, toy box and recliners. Everything else I was going to take care of. It took them another 5 hours to finish unloading. During the unloading time the 3 movers got into a heated argument and nearly came to blows outside of my house before one of the guys just upped and left leaving us with only 2 movers now. Mind you, they were cursing and fighting in front of my 2 small children. This did not sit well with us, so my wife called the company and the lady who answered was not very helpful. After explaining what happened, my wife could hear a guy yelling in the background on the phone at my wife and the lady trying to repeat what he said in a nice customer service voice. I'll tell you this guy is lucky I wasn't on the phone. You DONT get to talk to my wife like that whether you're speaking to her directly or through someone. They turned around and tried to blame it on us with how long it was taking them to finish and telling us how they had to cancel another job and we have more stuff than they bargained for even though they walked the house with me and told me it would only take 4-4.5 hours. I would have done this move myself had I not been recovering from knee surgery after getting hurt in a Judo competition, so I needed movers to help. I seriously feel they were milking the clock they would move some things and then I wouldn't see them for 20 mins. Then it apparently took 2 big dudes to fold some blankets which took about another 30 mins to fold a few blankets. I understand they needed to be folded, but does it take 2 guys to fold it? I mean I can fold a blanket by myself in about 30 seconds. Let's move on to the pictures I have. First the wall. While bringing down a nightstand, a mover dropped it and dented the wall at the windows frame. I mean stuff happens, but dude didn't even apologize or check to make sure the nightstand was good. I had to. Next, while unloading another mover dropped a TV off the lift, again no apologies or anything. Luckily, the tv is old and we've just had it in the closet this past year, so I don't care about it. It's just the principle of the matter. My buddy told me to take my security camera footage and send it to the news about these guys. I wanted to do it, but my wife talked me out of it and just wanted to be done with these guys. I still might send my footage about the fight and then dropping my stuff, and to show how long it took them to get everything done. All in all, I wanted to give a 1 star, but they did call back and we got a 15% discount. It was something, but not enough. My wife didn't want me to post, but I feel I needed to. Also might send my security footage to the news. People should know. Just be cautious when going with this company.

I would love to give Home Run Movers 5 stars because they are very nice but I can only give them 1…read morestar. The first star I deduct is due to their low ball estimate of the time and expense of the move. It ended up taking twice as long and costing twice as much as was estimated. That is $1,000 more than estimated. I did move from a 3rd floor apartment to a 2nd floor condo with several glass tables and mirrors but they knew that when they estimated it could be done in 4-5 hours with 3 movers. It took 9 hours. The second star deduction is that they worked as if they were being paid by the day and not by the hour. They were not slow but they were not fast. I have seen movers who really moved with urgency. Fast movers move quickly on the stairs when they are not carrying boxes. These folks were not fast movers. If they were paying $210 per hour I think they would move faster. They lost another star because I paid for 3 movers and got 2 experienced movers and an 18 year old cousin who had never moved anything. He stood around in the beginning waiting to be told what to do. He also showed no initiative regarding doing what he could be doing. There were times he was checking his phone and taking significant rest breaks. I argued I should pay less because I only had 2 and a half movers but my argument was ignored. They finally lost the fourth star because when I went back to the apartment I found that they had forgotten a 2.5 x 4 foot framed print in the bathroom and also left some of their garbage from wrapping items. There are positive things to say. They were very careful. They called in advance and arrived early. They worked to reassemble tricky furniture. They were also very friendly.
