He said the compresser?? would need to thaw, so he was leaving on another call and would be back. On his return he stated the AC would need about 3# of freon at $150 per pound. Okey done at the cost of $589. with "working better". After using it 9-10 times that fall I covered it for winter. On 4/14-15/26 I turned it back on, fan worked but "NO AIR". Called Pro Air on 4/17 and told they would get back. Have not heard from Pro Air by the 22nd (Wonder why, must not need the business) I called back and got Mark, I explained "NO cold air'. He said he would come out but there would be a service charge $139. I ask why he would not check the lines for leaks? He said that could take hours??? Not very good customer service, like a money grab? Getting a new AC but FOR SURE, Pro Air will near see it. In the end Pro Air losses.

Called Central Heating & Plumbing for another opinion and they sent out Jon Hartman the same day got the main line running and inspected the stack which was not the issue. He cleared the line and now all the pipes are flowing as they should. Totally recommend Central Heating & Plumbing for all your plumbing needs. I called a competitor, they explained that the tiny cracks (which he showed me on a magnification camera) are normal heat stress and there is nothing to worry about with my furnace. Back up and running for about $70 for other parts. Recently (years later) my mother in law called Baron to do a pre season inspection and startup. Guess what? Yep cracked heat exchanger. They run a good scam and If you must call them, get a second free opinion from a competitor to verify their overpriced scam diagnosis.

My back is bad and I am not climbing up on the roof to look". Though ok they can check it if it gets bad or next time they come. We signed up for the service contract that is like $20 a month and it cover the bi-yearly checks and is covered under the contract also gives discounts on parts and labor if work needs done. So our credit card needed to be replaced and the number changed. We have called them 3 times left messages and never got a response! We are trying to give them money and they won't call us ! Oh, and since then our chimney cap came off and was on the ground. It was rotted clean through! Guess it wasn't a roofing issue after all! If a company won't return your call when you are trying to pay them what will they do if you have a problem and need their help ?

The best part about these guys, their initial service fee is not outrageous, like I see with most others appliance services. The service tech they sent, Jerry, although a young man in his early 20s, he was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Luckily, my furnace only needed an adjustment to the gas pressure to place it back in normal operating mode. So my initial fee covered his visit and the adjustment, unlike other vendors I've used in the past where they look for things that they can charge you more or say they're about to break, just to charge you more money for the service.
