I would have never thought that the best pizza I had ever eaten would be in Kentucky, yet here we are. A group of six of us placed an online order with ease and came to pick up our pizzas. Walking in you will notice how strangely large all of the decor is and the establishment is quite large and spacious. We picked up our order and decided we wanted to eat there and the worker was kind to allow us to even though we ordered to-go. I opened my pizza box up to a gooey, warm pizza with a rich aroma of rosemary and blue cheese. I was pleasantly surprised that the pizza crust was on the thinner side (my favorite kind). One bite and I was done for. The salty and savory combination of the cheese and sausage meshed in with the sweet caramelized onions in marmalade all topped off with those deliciously tangy bourbon cherries was crazy good. I am devastated that I do not know when I will next have this delicious pizza again (as I am not from the area). I highly recommend coming here for insanely good pizza and I will 100% make sure that I taste this pizza again someday. read more

I kept hearing about this delicious pizza place and I'm so glad I finally tried it! It's located on the outskirts of Anchorage in a unique building. There is outside seating but don't miss the fabulous inside either! Of our three pizzas, we were most satisfied with the spinach ricotta. There were fresh toppings, yummy sauce, and a great crust. The vegan pizza also featured fresh ingredients and the same great crust. The sausage pizza lacked some pizzazz and the crust was slightly overdone. MozzaPi has been on my radar for a while. The problem was that it only stays open until 2 PM every day and it's a trip out to La Grange road. I finally got to try it out and it's good. There's so much to love about this place. While it's not my favorite pizza in Louisville, it's certainly worth the trip out to the east end every now and then. To start, the customer service is top-notch. Every single employee is perfect and it's noticeable. For a second I thought I was in some fairytale world where humanity had a heart. It does make a difference when people are kind. I believe that shows that they love being there. I even remember getting up to refill my water and catching one of the employees out the corner of my eye. Before he realized I was getting water, he was ready to jump if I needed anything. The other thing that should be noticeable is all of the furniture! I didn't notice at first but I think it's just because it's so large that it blends in with everything. They have two larger than life chairs that look like they were designed for giants. They have a huge grandfather clock on one of the walls. It towers above the restaurant. They also have giant electric outlets... with giant WORKING lights plugged in. I want those outlets in my house. I didn't get a good look at the pizza oven but it's very copper still-ish. The place hits the price point just right. Most pizza places that offer any type of specialty pizzas jack up the price. This place keeps things affordable. The main pizza I went for was the Sweet Onion Marmalade pizza. It has caramelized onions, blue cheese, mozzarella, andouille sausage, bourbon cherries, and rosemary. This pizza works on all fronts. I'm not sure if it needs the bourbon cherries or not but it does add a bit of tart to the rest of the pizza. I was afraid it would be too sweet as most pizzas like this are but it wasn't at all. It was just right. It was delicious and it's going to be a tough pizza to pass up when I go back to try the Thai, Iberico Chorizo, and spinach/ricotta pizzas. Javier ordered the same pizza. Since that was the case I went ahead and ordered a pepperoni pizza to go. The pepperoni pizza was good but it wasn't my favorite. I wanted to try one of their basic pizzas to see how it was. I think this place shines with their specialty pizzas for sure. When comparing the Sweet Onion Marmalade to the pepperoni, the pepperoni couldn't even stand up to the specialty pizza. One other thing I loved about the pizzas I ordered was the cheese. A lot of places are stingy with the cheese nowadays. Not here. A few bites had me pulling the cheese right off the slice. That annoys some people but when I'm in the mood for that... IT'S AMAZING! MozzaPi also has salads, sandwiches, and a breakfast menu. I'm excited to make it back for their other specialty pizzas. I mentioned them before but I have that Thai pizza in my sights especially. Side notes: -- They forgot to give Javier his cookie. When he asked for it, later on, they gave him two. He gave me one. The one I had was a peanut butter cookie. It was good but I'm not sure if I'd order one on my own. -- They also serve breakfast. Various coffee and tea drinks. They also have a few sourdough English muffin sandwiches. I'm excited to make it back there for breakfast sometime. -- They also had a small retail cabinet on one of the walls. It had various things on it. One of the things was a company called Louismill Grains. It was cornmeal. I'm not sure of the origins of that company but it seems to be local. -- They have plenty of parking. -- The food comes out faster than you'd think. This is one place that you should make it a point to visit at some point. I think it's well worth your time. I mentioned this not being my favorite pizza in Louisville. That along with it being a little further out from the city is the only reason I took one star off. Once I make it back and try their other pizzas, I see this easily being a five star must visit. read more

I literally feel like I was teleported to Italy....and Germany....and a fairytale house......this place is SO COOL!! After workin' our butts off in pilates, we decided it was 'treat yo'self' time. We were starving, and really just wanted to try out a new place that was nearby. Pizza sounded good, MozzaPi was the first to pop up in our Yelp search, so there we went. It was such a pleasant surprise! Everything about this place is just so charming and fascinating. The outside of the building looks like a German beerhaus, The inside being so interesting to gander at... It almost makes you feel like Alice in Wonderland, seeing two gigantic chairs, cuttrey and grandfather clock on the walls. MozzaPi is counter service, and is basically a pizza/bakery/coffee shop. Interesting mix, right? Everyone we encountered who worked here was very friendly and explained a few things on the menu to us. We started with a house salad, because for $3 why not? Plus, it was a pretty good sized salad for the price. Our pizzas came out shortly after, which come as a 9 inch personal sized pizza. I don't find a lot of places in Louisville that feel authentic-Italian, but their pizza took me back to when I had a pie in Pisa. I am giving this restaurant a 5 star review for one specific reason: their Iberico Chorizo Pizza. Just WOW! I felt like I was back in Spain; it was simply delicious! The restaurant itself used to be a brick barn and they have managed to keep the decor along those lines so it feels very "homey". Part of this decor includes larger-than-life chairs and a clock that are definitely Instagram-worthy! Their menu has something for everyone; whether you want to go healthy with a salad or break your diet with a pizza, you will not be disappointed! Service was fantastic. Beautiful surroundings, local ingredients, and delicious food. Wow! The barn-like structure is gorgeous and filled with loads of beautiful woodwork. It's almost like a retreat in the woods. I ordered an egg & cheese on a housemade, English muffin and Mom went with a bacon, egg, & cheese version. Both were delectable, blowing away any McSomething you might find. The English muffin was dense yet filled with crannies. I could have eaten a dozen! MozzaPi uses their own milled flour and grits. The smokey grits, served as a side to the breakfast sandwiches, were sublime. They had to be the best grits I've eaten in a restaurant in recent memory. I also brought home an everything bagel scone for later. All the toppings found on my favorite bagel were incorporated into a savory scone and it was also dotted with cream cheese bites. This is a hidden gem and should not be missed if you're in the Louisville area. I stopped here before heading out to hike with my dog. Early in the morning they were serving organic coffee with flavored syrup made in house. I had a vanilla latte with almond milk, and it was awesome. They also had oatmillk available as a non dairy option. The service was super friendly. I'm assuming the lady who took my order was an owner, and she threw in a free corn cookie. She said they milled their own flour/corn meal (can't remember which), and it was delicious and so unique. The blueberry muffin I ordered had really tasty fresh blueberries. Absolutely no complaints on the coffee and pastry front. The outdoor space was adorable as well. Charming woodsy places have always captured my heart, and even more so, now, with the pandemic and safety concerns. The front has multiple large tables, cute lights strung up, and across the street, perfect fall foliage. The back has a comfy couch set with wooden table under a shelter, a pond full of excited koi fish, and more tables and fall leaves. It was such a beautiful way to start the morning, I will definitely return when I'm in town. I also sent my cousin and her boyfriend on a mission to scope out the pizza menu. read more

I got carryout from MozzaPi for the first time and it was a fantastic experience. They were doing curbside orders due to the pandemic and the parking lot was full. I ordered two danishes and two pizzas online. When I pulled up into the parking lot, I called to let them know I was there, and my order came out just a few minutes later. Let me tell you about the cheese danishes. I moved to Louisville from Lexington five years ago. In Lexington, I loved cheese danishes from Sunrise Bakery and I have been searching for a comparable danish in Louisville ever since and I think I have finally found it. The danish was hot, buttery, and flaky, with a large dollop of cheese in the center. I have tried to order them for two weeks straight and they have been sold out, so you have to preorder fast! Though the danish was definitely the highlight, the pizzas were great, too. The sweet onion marmalade is so unique and delicious and the classic pepperoni was just what I expected. I will definitely continue to order from MozzaPi. Next I want to try the cookies and the focaccia and hopefully soon I will be able to dine in and have a cup of coffee. Stopped by for breakfast on a Sunday around 1030. We headed toward the register to order but could not find a menu. The gal came up and asked what we'd like- I asked to see a menu. She apologized and handed us a menu. I asked if thy served coffee, she apologized again and gave us the coffee menu. A latte and a cappuccino to start us off. My date ordered the sausage egg and cheese biscuit. It comes with grits. I saw the everything bagel scone and wanted that. Then my date asked if I wanted to share the pancakes- absolutely yes! So we opted for the blueberry pancakes. They both looked at me like that's all you're going to have? So I asked for two fried eggs a la cart. The menu says egg $1. It didn't say you had to have them poached, but that's all they have. So I agreed. Our coffees were perfectly delivered to our table. Not one spill. Our food was brought out by another worker. My scone was not included. I thought maybe they were warming it up. After awhile, I realized they forgot. I went up to the counter to inquire, the gal apologized yet again and said she forgot. So she had it warmed up and brought it to the table. It was delicious. All the spices and the dollops of cream cheese inside. Wow! The pancakes were good too. I loved the crispy edges. They were served w a side of syrup and salty butter. My latte came in a funny mug. They appeared to be selling the mugs, as well as grits and cornbread mix. They also have some Colombian roast coffee beans for sale. Overall, the place is really cute but they're kinda lost when it comes to service. The owner was there and he waved to us, which was nice. Love love love this little hidden gem. The owners are proud of their bakery and pizzeria and you can tell. Everything is made with passion. I've been here a handful of times and have never been disappointed. My most recent trip was for breakfast. Delicious bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on a homemade sourdough English muffin. I want to come back and just order the crust. I have known for a long time that a bad crust can ruin a pizza, but never knew that an excellent crust would make a pizza. Mozza Pi has figured it out. This pizza is simply amazing. Nothing to complain about coming from a guy who likes to complain. The parking lot is a bit small - only because the restaurant is always packed because of the phenomenal staff and food options!! It's an open, spacious interior where you order at the counter and then seat yourself. The food is brought to you by a caring and friendly staff. They also have a coffee shop and little bakery. The scones are amazing. They have figured out the secret to baking because all the breads are delicious! Highly recommend! It is quickly becoming a monthly pizza option for me. I gotta be honest, I love the customer service here and the space. The one girl at the counter greeted us upon entering. She was super nice and smiley no matter how busy it got later on. Looks like a barn from the outside, but had the feel of a slightly upscale cabin on the inside. It was kinda empty when I got here around 10:45 ish on a Wednesday morning. A few people were sitting drinking coffee. All waiting for lunch to be served around 11. Turns out, they only serve the breakfast sandwiches on weekends...wish they had said this on their online menu. Another couple walked in and was told the same thing. They coulda been a little more communicative. Anyway, coffee was meh! I wasn't fond of the flavor. Not sure why but I didn't like the taste. It was a bottomless coffee and the one girl placed the extra coffee next to me, but later when it got busy a different girl took it from me saying they needed to make sure they had enough. Ummmm so what's goin on?? Do you not want me to have what I paid for or what?!?! For lunch, my friends and I got the ibérico pizza which had chorizo, mozzarella, and cheddar. It was anticlimactic as it was only a pepperoni pizza. Way to hype it up on the menu. Another friend got the meatball sub which came with a giardiniera. The sandwich was small and lacking in seasoning. The giardiniera was a cold mixture of pickled veggies. Not my thing but my friend liked it. Each item was $12. Expensive! The pizza should've been a personal one. I was hungry after that since I was so not sold on spending more here. The pizza was delicious though. It just didn't seem worth the price to me. The pastries did look delicious, so I wouldn't mind coming here to try them. It got soooo busy here around 11:30! Oh my! So many elderly folks, families with small kids and such. Dang! There wasn't a seat left in the place. A lot of people seemed like they were trying it for the first time just like us. Bathroom was a one room type thing. No issue. One of my favorite newer places in Louisville. I have been many times for breakfast and a few times for lunch and have been blown away by the choices each time. The coffee is wonderful. They only serve pastries during the week but I would love to come on the weekend for breakfast sandwiches. I have had so many amazing great treats there: chorizo/date scone, blueberry scone, chocolate muffin, ginger/pear scone, corn cookie and the chocolate chip cookie. All amazing! The ambiance is also very relaxing in the morning. The only drawback is that they are a small business with not a lot of staff and can get very busy during standard meal times, but it is worth the wait! I just wouldn't expect to have a quick lunch experience here. And I can't forget my favorite part--the pizza! Get the spinach and fresh ricotta. Wow. Just wow. The small salad is wonderful too. After seeing pictures online, a friend and I decided to make the 30 minute drive to check it out. It was super easy to find and GPS took us straight there. When we walked in, there was a bit of a line but plenty of menus to review before placing your order. On this day, we placed our order at the bar and were given a number. There was only one person taking orders at the bar so the line moved a bit slow. We chose to sit outside since it was nice out. There is a small patio with a pond that was fascinating for the kids that were with others. We ordered the rosemary focaccia appetizer, a cheese pizza and my friend ordered the spicy pizza. The water was self-serve and the soft drinks were bottles (so no refills). The focaccia came out within about 10 minutes and was so good! It was soft and fluffy with just the right amount of seasoning. The pizzas came out about 15 minutes later (after a small confusion about our number, which was quickly resolved). The cheese pizza was delicious. The perfect amount of cheese and sauce. The crust was not too thick but not too thin. My friend (who loves spicy food) said that the spicy pizza wasn't spicy enough for her but was still good. When we were ready to leave, I went inside and got to-go boxes. The pizza wasn't as good reheated so I would either share or enjoy it all while at the restaurant. Overall, great ambiance and great food. Service could have been a bit quicker in taking the orders as it looked like there were two registers but only one person taking orders and getting drinks. read more

First off the decor both inside and outside are both great and memorable. Really attracts you to the place. The pizza is 9 inch style only similar to the chains like blaze that are popping up everywhere. The pizza itself is very tasty. I'd rate the flavor and taste above the other pizza/9 inch places popping up. The price is kinda rough imo at $9 for a one topping (I got cheese). It is on the pricey end imo. The service on my visit was not great. Now like other similar Chains you walk up to the counter to order what you want and they cook in front of you. They have no signs indicating order here or anything so I walked in thinking it was just a sit down pizzeria and was wondering if it was wait to be seated, seat yourself or order up front. So I was waiting for a few. I finally walked to the counter and was asked what I wanted. I asked for menu as none were posted and was told only 2 pizzas left. I was confused on what that meant as I still didn't know this was 9 inch only. So I had some confusion. The workers could of been more helpful as it was obvious I was a new customer. However all in all this is a really cool place and it was tasty. I'd recommend having a "place order here" sign and to have posted menus. OK, so my best friend loves pizza. It's her favorite food, and there are several pizza places near us that we were wanting to try so she asked if we could have a pizza tasting night and I thought, what a great idea! This place is close to us, and we have been wanting to try it forever! We ordered online which was super easy and picked up. Let me start by saying they had an option to add an entire loaf of sourdough bread for free, so right away, I'm already sold. Like what a cool thing to do for bread that's probably going to go bad that they didn't want to go to waste... It was absolutely delicious and I used it for sandwiches and croutons and then French toast which was seriously amazing. I'm sure they probably don't offer the free loaf of homemade bread all the time, so lucky us, but how awesome is that?! Now onto the pizza- they are smaller but definitely enough for two or more people. More like an artisan pizza with lots of crust- but the good kind of homemade bready, chewy, airy crust- yum. This place is very reasonably priced, just one of the several things that will bring us back. We got the sweet onion marmalade and the famous spicy giardiniera. I loved both of them but everyone's favorite was the giardiniera with all six of us saying we'd go back for that one. My husband wants to go back and get the Iberico chorizo and I'm dying to go back for their brunch to taste their homemade croissants, grits, and roasted in house coffee. Also they sell their grits and coffee by the pound! We don't live far so I'm kicking myself for not trying this place sooner. But I have a feeling it's quickly going to become one of our go to's. Made it here on Saturday afternoon for some lunch. The building is really cool but I didn't see a sign so a little hard to find. The pizza was very good. Could've had a little less cheese just so the topping didn't fall off as much and the bottom was super crispy. My fiancé's pizza wasn't as crispy which I would've preferred. This is one of those places you never want to leave. MozzaPi is just outside downtown Louisville, Kentucky. Even though it's spacious, there's something cosy and welcoming about the place. Master bakers are turning out sourdough, focaccia and perfectly crisp woodfired pizza made from heirloom grain dough such as the rare and special Kansas City Turkey Red Wheat. It doesn't end there. If you read my other posts, I score 90% on the food. Had I done that, this may have only been a 2-star. We ordered; Thai pizza, Sweet Onion Marmalade pizza, focaccia (snack/appetizer), a side of giardiniera, and a side of olive oil. So, I'll start with the positive. The blue cheese and onion marmalade used on the pizza were good quality. The chicken on the Thai pizza was seasoned well, and the giardiniera was tasty. The pizzas as a whole medley of tastes were simply disappointing. On the Sweet Onion Marmalade, there just was not enough blue cheese or onion marmalade. The andouille sausage was not flavorful, the bourbon cherries were more for "bourbon country" novelty. The cherries did not compliment the pizza as a whole, and I'm not actually sure that there was any rosemary on the pizza. The Thai pizza was "fine." The bites of seasoned meat were nice, but again, as a pizza, there was something missing. I'd say it was "ok," which is not what I'm looking for when I go out to eat. The focaccia was VERY plain. It was good that we ordered the side of olive oil (which had a nice flavor, almost a hint of tomato) because the focaccia by itself would have been a waste. As for the atmosphere, it was very neat; large clock, large chair, a ton of wood features, had a loft, very unique (definitely a plus). Now, there was not a posted menu or any menus to view while in a long lunch-crowd line. Therefore, you hold the line up even longer when it is your time to order because you have to look at the menu at the register. What a cool coffee shop and pizza place?! I came here to meet a friend for coffee. This was my first time in. I actually have a food allergy so I didn't try the pizza but didn't come for that anyway. I ordered at the counter and had a seat. They brought me over the cutest mug with my latte. It looked like a mug from Beauty and the Beast! The place is beautiful. Not your average coffee shop. Wow, just wow. I'm in awe of the building alone. It's rustic, artsy, and downright magical. The pizza is fantastic as you would expect. The menu seems well rounded in regard to pizza variety, as well as alcohol selection. Apparently they have breakfast food too? I'd love to give it a try. If I'm correct, breakfast starts at 7:00am-11:00am. Then, lunch goes from 11:00am-2:00pm. It's not just that, either! Fresh baked goods are created here. Like...it just seems to get better and better. We came here today about 30 minutes before they were set to close. But, the food was still prompt and the staff were as friendly as ever. I really appreciate that...it means a lot in my book. The other customers were still nibbling as we left, no doubt enjoying the sheer awesomeness of this place.
