    Large cheese pie
    Michael R.

Wow, one of the best pizzas I've had on the island in a long time! Since I no longer live in NY, I miss some of the great pizza I had growing up. Whenever I have a chance to return, I am always seeking a great pie, and this was very good. There is a large variety of both round and square slices available with both traditional and unusual toppings. While they looked great, my first order at a new spot is a basic large cheese pie. Ours was piping hot with perfect crust and delicious sauce and cheese. They seem to have a brisk takeout business, but they do have a few booths and tables in the shop where you can sit and eat as well. Our order was baked quickly and the staff was friendly, and the restaurant was clean. I did note that they charge about 3.75% for using a credit card, which seems to be more and more common on LI. Personally not a fan of added fees when dining out. Who wants to carry large amounts of cash when going to a restaurant?

This is the best pizza place in this area. They have the usual regular and white pizzas. It they also make some pretty unusual pizzas like one with chicken and coleslaw and pickles, it was actually pretty good. Their slices are huge as well. I don't go here often cause I don't live in the area but when I am nearby this is the pizza place to go to.

Incredibly disappointing that they don't take orders past 8pm on Friday nights. Would've loved to try them.

    Great slices!

Honestly, the best Long Island traditional slice I've had in years. Great crust, semi-sweet sauce and just the right amount of cheese. Lots of parking, all cards, closed Mondays Worth a trip

"One bite, everyone knows the rules - David Portnoy" What rules? Who makes these rules, a guy who grew up in Boston? People are obsessed with this guy, who made him the authority? I travel a lot for my job and have tried many different pizza styles. Believe it or not, I had a "mustard" pizza in New Jersey. (It was gross) Dave gave a place in New Jersey a 9.4. I tried this place as well, anything with a crunch Dave loves... I have two pizza lists, one for Long Island and one for the best pizza. Mozzafiato Pizzeria is charting at the top 3 on both lists. And don't tell me L&B or Di Faras! Dom is no longer with us (rest in peace) and when was the last time you were at L&B? Sit back and relax, let's get this review started. My wife and I walk in on a busy friday night. As a kid I worked in Mamma Lombardis, Mozzafiato Pizzeria is not as busy when I worked there as a teenager but trust me, there will be a wait. Mozzafiato Pizzeria has a small dining area with two large tables and few outdoor tables. There are three signs: Order. Pay. Take Out. My plan is to order an entire pizza and bring home the leftovers. I'm waiting about 10 minutes on the Order line and when we reach the counter, the gentleman behind the counter tells me that dine in whole pies are at the other register. Not a problem, I walk over, place my order for a Margarita pizza with an Arugula salad, I grab a Peroni and patiently wait. My pizza comes to the table. Piping hot and right out of the oven. There's no need to even bite it yet. I see the bottom crust is perfect, the quality of the cheese is showing and trust me, it smells amazing. My wife splits up the salad, I serve her a very large slice of pizza. We each take a bite. Both of us look at each other but not say anything. We are witnessing pizza at the top of its game. It's a quality, New York style pizza, I know I ordered the upscale Margarita compared to the traditional neapolitan 8 slice but if you're going to try a new place, show me your best. And Mozzafiato Pizzeria brought it last night. I also ordered a Capellini Cake? Perfection. Pure perfection. Tiny pieces of Angel Hair pasta and cheese formed into a square the size of a Knish. Italian style baby! The best pizza on Long Island? It's in my top 3 for sure. Now here's the thing about a David Portney review, I dined at the Jersey spot he reviewed. I waited twenty minutes for Mozzafiato Pizzeria? If Dave came here and gave a 9.1 there would be at least a two hour wait. I went to Sachem around the corner, this is now my little neighborhood spot. Let's keep it between us ok? Dave? You left your mansion in the Hamptons to try a few Long Island pizza spots, I feel you judged them unfairly. Mister, I am the Yelp pizza Pope. This might be your church, right now I'm the Pope of Greenwich Village with this review.

This place is a must for high quality artisan Italian food. Their Rigatoni A La Vodka is the best I have had. Pizza is amazing.

It was very delicious and fresh! The marinara sauce was very flavorful and huge chucks of garlic. We were also served some bread and butter. Bread was basic, but warm. For my entree I had their famous chicken vodka parm. It was so good and it had two huge pieces of chicken! I'm definitely looking forward to my leftovers tomorrow. My boyfriend had veal chop Asiago which he really enjoyed. He had asked for a steak knife to cut it, and our waitress said they didn't have any and they were "on order." He didn't end up needing the knife anyway...the veal cut perfectly with his butter knife. Each entree came with pasta and salad! We both got a Caesar salad which was perfectly dressed. So why 4 stars and not 5? We has ordered a bottle of rose, and we were given a bottle of white Zinfandel instead, which cost $5 more...and we were not informed of this. When we ordered the rose, our waitress said she had to check if they had it...didn't say anything and then poured us the Zinfandel. While it was good, we should've been informed. We would still return as the food was delicious!

New ownership, same great pizza…read more I'm sure when it happened but this spot changed the name with new owners. The first question I asked, do you still make the mozzarella? I'm told they are still making cheese homemade. I stopped by for lunch to have a quick slice. Nice crust with a good sauce. And the cheese is still bangin'. The new owners didn't spend any money on the interior, it's still a pizza place with the same booths from the last owner. First time here at the new spot. I still rate it the best pizza in the area. Enjoy

The crust was good but a little dark on the bottom- meanwhile the top cheese was not nearly browned enough. Could've also used a little more evenly distributed pepperoni. The garlic knots were terrible though. Dry and very garlicky, but in bad way. Not nearly enough butter or oil. I really don't understand pizzerias that serve dry, fat, lumps of dough and call them garlic knots. You need to make your garlic knots, smaller, thinner, and more thoroughly saturated with garlic butter/oil (not just chopped raw garlic). This was for delivery and after tip it was $45 for a pie and 6 garlic knots. That was with the "cash discount". Felt kind of ridiculously overpriced and disappointing if I am being honest. Could get the same order delivered from any other Stony Brook pizzeria for $10 cheaper. Certainly wouldn't order delivery ever again. And definitely never get the garlic knots. Maybe we'll give it another shot eating in.
