Easily my new favorite pizzeria! The regular pie w/ pepperoni is everything I could ever want in a slice, just perfection. The sauce is the best I've had. I try to grab a specialty slice when I'm there to pickup because those are also fire! There was a pesto, pepperoni and (hot?) honey slice, wow, that was a treat. Really looking forward to that tri-color sauce I saw once as well. Can't go wrong here, definitely my new go to spot! These folks are clearly passionate about making great pizza. We ordered a salad once as well and that was easily the best salad I've gotten in a while. Nice variety of slices. I tried the regular slice and the capellini cake. Regular slice was crispy and still fresh for being the only slice left before the next fresh regular pie I saw sitting out. Cheese and sauce were delish. Not burnt or charred on the bottom. They tried to charge for a cup of sauce with the capellini cake. I declined because of the fee, because let's be honest, how can you charge for something that should be automatically with the dish? However they gave it to me anyway, which was nice. They have Italian sodas and that let me know I was in a good place. Will definitely be back if in the area and craving a slice. read more

One of the best pizza places in Suffolk County. Nice counter with many specialty slice options. The staff is friendly & the pizzeria is clean. I'm more of a plain cheese guy which was excellent, more so than a fancy pizza person but they have the best looking gourmet pizzas around. I want to try them all. Better than Most My family, at one time or another, have eaten at all Pizzerias/Italian restaurants in our town and neighboring towns. All were very good. We discovered Mazzofiato about a year gone. This pizzeria/restaurant surpasses all the others we've been to. They offer a typical diverse menu always served hot. The sauce used seems to taste better. The staff is always accommodating and friendly. If you want extra sauce, they'll provide it. The restaurant is always clean and the atmosphere pleasant. Take-out service is prompt with home delivery available via third-partly. I have no reservations giving a five-star rating. If you're in the neighborhood, please stop in and meet their staff. The people who run this place, are SO so difficult to deal with. Rude, difficult, ego maniacal owner/manager with an attitude problem. He would rather argue than make it right. Bad business practices and no regard for hospitality or customer experience. Bad experience #1 I ordered shrimp scampi and asked to add sautéed broccoli. Pretty much the most simple request. Especially since they already have a penne broccoli dish?? Any Italian restaurant would do this without blinking. They had to "ask the manager" about it like they always do if any little thing is deviated or added. I'm sure bc the Micro Manager has told them any changes need to be run past him. Then told me they wouldn't be able to do it unless I ordered an entire order of broccoli... for $9! Really just stupid. Like just throw some broccoli in my pasta jeeez. You wanna upcharge a couple bucks? Sure. Telling me they are INCAPABLE of producing a shrimp scampi plus broccoli dish is so beyond ridiculous. And saying it will "confuse the chef" is so silly. Horrible experience #2 Received horribly burnt, inedible slices of pizza which we discovered after coming home. When I called to tell them and asked to have them replaced "manager" dude made a HUGE deal about it, didn't want to take responsibility, and ended up HANGING UP on me after repeatedly patronizing me, trying to somehow make it my fault that HE burnt the pizza bc I "didn't call sooner"?? Tell me ANY OTHER pizza place that wouldn't just *immediately* apologize and give you fresh slices. Ill wait. All this over a couple slices of pizza?? Wild. We are local and ordered from this place at least once a week. We have always loved the food. And recommended them to people. But MAN does the customer service suck. Mostly that manager guy tho. Wow, one of the best pizzas I've had on the island in a long time! Since I no longer live in NY, I miss some of the great pizza I had growing up. Whenever I have a chance to return, I am always seeking a great pie, and this was very good. There is a large variety of both round and square slices available with both traditional and unusual toppings. While they looked great, my first order at a new spot is a basic large cheese pie. Ours was piping hot with perfect crust and delicious sauce and cheese. They seem to have a brisk takeout business, but they do have a few booths and tables in the shop where you can sit and eat as well. Our order was baked quickly and the staff was friendly, and the restaurant was clean. I did note that they charge about 3.75% for using a credit card, which seems to be more and more common on LI. Personally not a fan of added fees when dining out. Who wants to carry large amounts of cash when going to a restaurant? read more

Food was AMAZING I had a meatball vodka slice that was a spiritual experience, I was so sad when it was gone! My husband had an upside down vodka Sicilian slice that was also fantastic. This is the best pizza place in this area. They have the usual regular and white pizzas. It they also make some pretty unusual pizzas like one with chicken and coleslaw and pickles, it was actually pretty good. Their slices are huge as well. I don't go here often cause I don't live in the area but when I am nearby this is the pizza place to go to. read more

My wife and I walk in on a busy friday night. As a kid I worked in Mamma Lombardis, Mozzafiato Pizzeria is not as busy when I worked there as a teenager but trust me, there will be a wait. Mozzafiato Pizzeria has a small dining area with two large tables and few outdoor tables. There are three signs: Order. Pay. Take Out. My plan is to order an entire pizza and bring home the leftovers. I'm waiting about 10 minutes on the Order line and when we reach the counter, the gentleman behind the counter tells me that dine in whole pies are at the other register. Not a problem, I walk over, place my order for a Margarita pizza with an Arugula salad, I grab a Peroni and patiently wait. My pizza comes to the table. Piping hot and right out of the oven. There's no need to even bite it yet. I see the bottom crust is perfect, the quality of the cheese is showing and trust me, it smells amazing. My wife splits up the salad, I serve her a very large slice of pizza. We each take a bite. Both of us look at each other but not say anything. We are witnessing pizza at the top of its game. It's a quality, New York style pizza, I know I ordered the upscale Margarita compared to the traditional neapolitan 8 slice but if you're going to try a new place, show me your best. And Mozzafiato Pizzeria brought it last night. I also ordered a Capellini Cake? Perfection. Pure perfection. Tiny pieces of Angel Hair pasta and cheese formed into a square the size of a Knish. Italian style baby! The best pizza on Long Island? It's in my top 3 for sure. Now here's the thing about a David Portney review, I dined at the Jersey spot he reviewed. Wow Best pizza I ever had since moving to Suffolk county. Blown away and been wanting to come here for a while and was in the neighborhood so I stopped on in, and glad I did. I order a buffalo chicken slice, regular Sicilian, speciality upside down slice, and a chicken roll. Chicken rolls are made fresh which I loved and was about a 12 minute wait but didn't mind because I prefer a fresh chicken over a chicken roll that been out since the morning. Drove home to deer park from center reach and the food was out of this world ! Best pizza I had in the 3 years of living on the island. They specialize in artisan pizza like tagglio in Mineloa and I love that. The quality in the dough and pizza is top notch and highly recommend this place. Prices are a lil steep for pizza my opinion but you get what you pay for. This ain't your typical Long Island mediocre pizza! 3 slices and a chicken roll cost 30 bucks but I guess that's normal with inflation so I can't complain. Overall, the pizza here is A1 and look forward to buying fresh pies next time cause the food here is great and look forward to coming back. read more

I've heard rumblings about this place on Facebook groups and TikTok and thought I would give it a try. The first pie I got was a tad too burnt but the sauce and crust was really good and thought it was a bad pie so I refrained from rating. I then ordered again a week later and was happy the bottom wasn't that burnt. It was really good. I'm not a huge fan of crusts but this pizza had a really good crust. Their garlic knots were great, a little spicy and peppery which I enjoyed but my kids didn't like it due to the spiciness. I also ordered their capellini cake, which tasted similar to a rice ball but with pasta instead of rice. It was fantastic. Luckily I asked for sauce when I picked up because otherwise it didn't come with it or they forgot to put it in. Otherwise, a great pizzeria with a lot of specialty pies. Pricing is a little higher than nearby places ($20 for a cheese pie). read more

Great food! Came in on a Friday afternoon and then came back in the evening for seconds. Great service, attentive, answered my questions, and good environment for casual sit-down experience. Got some things to-go they had prepped/on display that they heated up in the oven (quick, ~5min): 1.) Capellini cake with side of marinara. This is a fried cake composed of cheese/angel hair pasta. Haven't had it before, delicious, should try! 2.) Eggplant parmesean sicilian style. A highlight for me, the crust and bottom was perfectly nice and crispy complementing the topping that was composed of soft breaded eggplant and thick slices of mozzarella with marinara and basil sauce. 3.) BBQ chicken slice. Really great taste with probably the most solid and plentiful cubed chicken breast pieces, more generous with meat than average. 4.) They have a brick oven as well as 4 other pizza ovens to get all their fine specially pizzas out the door to you fast! Had a variety of slices and some knots. The Margherita was really good. The buffalo chicken blue cheese sauce was a little sweet for me. The white pizza slice was on point. We like our garlic knots juicy and half ours were. The others were more "dry" yet still tender. Flavor on knots was outstanding. Will definitely return when I'm back on Long Island. This is the best pizza in Suffolk County NY by far. They call it Roman style pizza. All their pizza is great from their chicken, à la vodka pie to their corn beef, Reuben pie with coleslaw and Russian dressing. Their entries are also terrific Their chicken Parmesan ala vodka entrée is fabulous. Their fettuccine Bolognese and their fettuccine Alfredo is spectacular. Saw this place when we went next for to the eye doc and just decided to grab a snack. My son isn't into fancy pizza so he just wanted a slice of pepperoni. They loaded that slice up. Ive never seen so much pepperoni on one slice. The tomato sauce base is delicious. A little sweet which i loved. My hubs got one of those fancy grandma slices with eggplant on it and he loved it as well. The slice was huge. I love doughy pizza but not a fan of most cheeses but i took a bite to try and it was so good. Chewy soft and crispy all in one bite. Less than $12 for two slices wasnt too bad! First time there. I always order a whole plain Margarita 1st time because if they can't do that right, no reason to return. The pie was fantastic! Thin and crispy crust-no flop. The tomato sauce was simple and delicious. Fresh mozzarella and basil on top sealed the deal. Large assortment of slices there with creative toppings.
