**************************2025 UPDATE************************** Here we are again, Moxie Pest Control is soliciting door-to-door in our private, gated community--where a sign at the entrance gate says: "no soliciting" and "no trespassing, private community" AGAIN. Yesterday Landon rang our bell. As he began his sales pitch, I pointed out our "No soliciting, trespassing, proselytizing, or business cards." He "explained" to me that he wasn't soliciting, he was just following a Moxie service truck as it was servicing customers in our community so he could offer services to other homes. When I explained what he was doing was, in fact, soliciting and mentioned the signs at the entrance to our community, he replied there is no law against soliciting anywhere and it's just something our "HOA made up." I explained we had a problem with Moxie a few years ago and the owner was contacted and assured us they would not send salespeople to our area again. He said that wasn't true and continued his sales pitch. He asked personal questions that had NOTHING to do with pest control. I again told him he shouldn't be soliciting in our community, he continued to pitch their services and ignore my words. Finally, my husband called from another room and I told him I needed to go. He continued to try to keep me at the front door until finally, I closed the door as he was still standing there talking. Later, I was out walking and he made a point to approach me on a hoverboard, seemingly to let me know he was still soliciting in the neighborhood. It's this kind of behavior that is incredibly disrespectful and will not only make me NEVER use their services, but also tell anyone who will listen not to patronize this company. If you don't train your salespeople to LISTEN and respect people and rules, why would I have any confidence that he would give me the services I want/need or that the services would properly be provided? read more

Bugs got worse ended up with way more crickets, appearance of scorpions and then tarantulas. They sent us an email that they wanted to start charging monthly instead of the quarterly contract and the service is quarterly, and for our property it was clearly not working unfortunately. Had to pay $270 to cancel the contract after seeing for a few months it was not working. I would not recommend this service. We went and bought bug killer today and immediately had crickets running and dying before us. At least we can spend the money we did on moxie in the future on actually killing bugs at our property- the whole point of why I had wanted the service. read more

we have had moxie for 7 years we recently had a fire and the young guy that came to service came all the way from phx this young man was so concerned and kind he would not accept out tip for coming all the way out here. we decided to give this service a try after hearing it advertised on a nationally syndicated radio show. so far it has been a disappointment, and today really doubled down on that. we had an appointment for service scheduled weeks ago, and received a text message a little after 8am that "the technician would be there within the hour." when 10am rolled around, i called their dispatch number, told them about the text we'd received and when the technician was going to get here for service. i was told that the appointment had been marked "could not service house". what? we'd been sitting around all morning with other things to do waiting for moxie. upon "further investigation", the woman i spoke to on the phone said that the technician couldn't find the house. i told her they've been here twice before and that i couldn't understand why they would have any trouble finding the house. they said the technician was directed by google maps to an alley (probably the alley behind the house). ok - so you can't read the clearly legible nearby street signs? i was also told the technician called the two phone numbers on file. one didn't answer, and the other went to voicemail (you DO know how voicemail works, right??). baloney - neither of our phones showed any missed or blocked calls. so now we have to reschedule. more than likely going to go with a different company that has employees with some common sense. and also call in to the radio show that is running their ads to tell them about our experience. read more

BUYER BEWARE!! This company is a sham and takes advantage of people especially seniors. Again as noted in previous posts they solicit door to door in gated communities. They offer you a special intro rate without any kind of contract and require a credit card. Calls to the front office to tell them you are not interested in further services go unattended and they still charge your card regardless if they spray or not (I made 5 calls to their office). It's also true from other posts that they want you to pay a cancellation fee ($139) for them to stop service even though you don't have a contract. I've been inconvenienced by having to have my credit card cancelled to end this madness. I've also reported their business practices to the BBB in an attempt to help others not fall victim. read more

Poor service with a smile! This company boasts customer centricity but is more interested in roping you in. We signed up for a year service with a very clear understanding with the salesman that if we moved before the end of the year it would be a valid reason to stop the contract WITHOUT fees. We ended up moving and... you guessed it- fees! After many fruitless and frustrating discussions with the customer service they have been constantly sending texts and emails claiming high customer service but wanting money even though they didn't service the house the remainder of the year. Now they are throwing around the word collections- never do business with this company. read more

Terrible business practices. A sales agent by the name of Shea Hildebrandt came to my door February 21st 2023 while I was at work and we communicated via my Ring doorbell for roughly 10 minutes for a pest control service. She's explained to me which I accepted the first service for $99 and offered a $150 discount. When asked if there was a sort of contract he danced around the answer that we could try it once and from there can decide whether to continue. I provided my card information via the DoorCam and he asked if he could on my behalf sign the agree which I gave permission to. Fast forward a month later I noticed an invoice for a quarterly charge of $155. I called there support number and spoke with an employee Erica who explained the sales agent are to not sign contracts on behalf of customers and I sent the video of the conversation to her via email. I was called back stating because my doorbell camera cut off before providing the card information there was nothing she could do in order to stop the service without a $150 termination fee. How I could sign an agreement when I explained to her I was at work is that not proof enough. I asked for her to speak to the agent who signed on my behalf is he had done this and she called back later the day stating he no longer works with Moxie. I will never recommend this company to anyone and put out this information to my local neighborhood group. This is a terrible company and I advise anyone to stay away! read more

I can't speak to the quality of their service, but I had a negative interaction with a door-to-door salesman for Moxie. I live in a neighborhood whose HOA posted a "No soliciting" sign at the entrance. Despite this, I was interrupted by a Moxie salesman ringing my doorbell. When I noted the sign the salesman acknowledged they were aware of it, but that company leadership informed him they weren't legally enforceable. Wow. As a business owner, I really hate giving bad reviews. But in all fairness, I reached out to them and gave them an opportunity to remedy the poor service and the misleading promises. Their response is that they were sorry and it will be $160 to cancel. Even though I was told in no uncertain terms I could cancel at any time. The primary impetus of the problem is that their service simply doesn't work. They sprayed outside and yet there was no change or reduction in the bugs. I arranged a time for them to come to spray inside the house and they simply didn't show up. But they were gracious enough to call and try to upsell termite treatment. I was told the tech said I needed it. (I live in a brick house with metal studs) It's too bad that some people feel the need to be this dishonest. read more
